Big, bold and ambitious. Whilst it has its flaws these are easily overlooked by a story that is told with strong direction and excellent performances (even from Bradley Cooper). A great work of story telling that never leaves you bored.
Shart, snappy & stylish. Whilst lacking in any great depth this is a great film that shows you in the first 5 minutes exactly where it's headed. Whilst having a couple of decent scenes of dialogue don't go expecting a strong character driven story (especially not from the extremely camp Penn or the very wooden Brolin). If you're after a great looking action film then ignore all the bad reviews and see this!
Likeable if not slightly dull film.
Surprisingly violent, not as funny as you'd think, slightly too long average action film. Not worth going out of your way to see.
The final hour is some of the most captivating, engrossing and impeccably directed cinema i've seen in years. It's just a shame the first half of the film is so pedestrian and quite frankly dull.
Awful dialogue, awful editing, awful film.
Terribly, terribly dull. No plot twists, anything approaching action or even strong performances from anyone.
Superior in every way to the previous Spider-Man films. Great cast and fantastic action sequences make this one of the all time great superhero films.
Crowe isn't really convincing a bad guy but it's a great story with great performances & action.
Uncomfortable and tense watching but there are no superlatives to describe just how incredible Michael Shannon is. How did he not get an Oscar nomination?!?! Full of allegory and metaphors so it's difficult what to make of it but it's an absolute must see.
Not funny, dull, exceptionally slow-paced, lack of necessary chemistry between the two leads and Keira Knightley could not be more annoying. Avoid even if it was the last film on the planet.
Just a bit dull.
It's a good thing this is scary (how on earth is it ever a 12?!?!?!?!?) because other than that and it looking great this is a pretty dull film.
Great opening sequence, great performance by Fiennes and a good script.
Genuinely scary film with superb performances let down by a horrifically boring, generic and rubbishly told story.
Violent, graphic, baffling, pointless. No plot, no ending, no point.
Does exactly what it says on the tin (and a little bit more).
Apparently this film was meant to be sad. It's difficult to feel sympathy for a character who appears not to try that hard to change his situation. Good story but difficult to feel compassion for a main character who comes across as lazy in a desperate situation.
:s Far to scary
