Full of heart and humor, everything about the LEGO movie is awesome. Although the story of a chosen one rising above the norm is totally cliche, it is easy to forgive the storytellers for, in reality, this movie is an animated awesome parody of our childhood. Did I mention that this movie is awesome? Awesome! (10/2/2014)
As most people who know me know...I love spoof movies. But there are two types of spoof movies: the ones where there are clever jokes and even entertaining ways to bring spoofs into the actual plot (Naked Gun, Scary Movie 3, Kung Pow!) and the ones that hammer as many spoofs into one movie and hang its hat on endless sex, fart, and offensive jokes (Date Movie, Disaster Movie, Meet the Spartans). This movie, unfortunately, is the latter and I am a fan of the previous. Nevertheless, Haunted House is not totally bad (see Stan Helsing) and kudos to Wayans continuing to try to keep spoof movies thriving in this everybody-love-realism 21st century.
Pretty interesting and insightful documentary about each of the Star Trek captains. William Shatner's humor and charisma, of course, wins the show, which makes the other captains, he is interviewing, more relaxed and willing to answer questions about themselves.
This movie had a lot going for it...a wonderful world-building environment, a decent plot, and some good time travel ideology. Unfortunately, the second half of the movie is where the movie falls flat and unexciting.
A fun, entertaining, and thrilling second ride with Sherlock and Dr. Watson. The real star is Jared Harris as Moriarty. Even though these Sherlock movies may not be like the Doyle books, I find them pretty awesome (in an alternate universe sort of way).
