Woo! they realised 3 was so good that they needed a 4th - glad i didnt buy the trilogy now, i can wait for this!
I felt like the Director was trying to win a new audience rather than please his current fan base, it was a good film with great performances, but I did expect so much more. 8/10
I liked the style of the movie, but it was lacking something. Jack Black wasn't actually annoying in this either. 6/10.
Much better than I thought it was going to be. Olivia Wilde was the highlight. 6/10
A gripping film about alcohol addiction and although it seems like it could be based on a true story it is in fact entirely fiction. Denzel is fantastic and the crash scene is great cinema. 7/10.
Not really a biopic, more of a fictionalised account of the making of Psycho. Great performances by all and highly recommended for anyone who's a fan of the great man. 7/10.
Merchant is the best thing in this whilst Byrnes character is impossible to like. Worth a watch if you have nothing better on. 6/10.
Whilst not quite as gripping as Inglourious it sure is a lot more fun. QT with an Australian accent is something I don't want to hear again however. 9/10
Not as good as Casino Royale but much better than the misstep that was QoS. Judi Dench is by far the least sexy Bond girl. Also a nice touch that the film takes place mainly in Britain. 8/10.
The trailer looked average and the film was even more so. I was not surprised by the end credits when I saw McG's name pop up as this had all the nonsense of the Charlies Angels moves but with the ridiculous Spy vs. Spy setup. It wouldn't have been so bad if it had been either funny or more action-y. 5/10
While still a flawed piece of film, it's heart is in the right place and the cast deliver 2 hours of engaging and entertaining cinema. It's just a shame that the film about Loopers was sidetracked by the film about genetic freaks. 8/10
I wish this was one of those films 'based on a true story' great over the top live action Manga.
Starts off well enough but by the middle of Act 2 it kinda runs out of steam and the supposed twist isn't much of a twist for anyone who is half paying attention or ever watched espionage thrillers. Denzel & Reynolds are both great in their roles and are the sole reason for watching, but it is a bit of a let down.
(Watched an ultraviolet copy of this, would have been nice if I could have watched it on my TV via PS3, so someone needs to look into that.)
Want to see this. In 2D. Until anywhere near me shows it, I'll go without. 3D is a con.
As a fan of the 1990 movie I was going to avoid this on principal, but considering when I watched Expendables 2 they showed the first 5 minutes I was actually intrigued into where the story could go.
No they don't go to Mars.
Yes there is a 3 breasted woman.
No Quaid has no witty one liners.
Yes he is called Douglas Quaid.
I don't like the fact that this is a 12A, which is why Quaid is shooting at armies of robots rather than people. I don't like how much the Colony looks like it's from Blade Runner and the similarities between Minority Report (also starring Farell) and the car chase are also notable.
However the 1990 version has dated quite considerably, and this remake has at least got the SFX team working over time as it does look stunning.
The original is still marginally better but this is certainly worth your time. 7/10
An okay action thriller. Gives the impression that it's hyper violent, but never showing any blood (just terrible CGI instead of good old fashioned blood packs) allows it to pass as a 15 rated movie. Would have been better if it had been an 18. Nice of Chuck Norris to tell a Chuck Norris joke, but no need for Bruce & Arnie to trade one liners. Also the guy you think is going to get killed first, gets killed first.
All that said, it's still probably got more views in it than the first film. 7/10.
A decent enough sports comedy that tries to keep the focus away from sport, it's totally throw away film making though and won't stick with you. 6/10
This is only for fans of Professional Wrestling... I'd go as far as to call it a follouw up piece to Beyond The Mat, but solely focused on Indy wrestlers. 9/10
Way too long and maybe a little too grown up for my liking. Chris Pratt was the highlight for me. A chick flick that pretends not to be, it didn't fool me. 6/10.
