I suppose it's such an exaggeratedly ironic movie that irony turned into boredom.
Jaime Gil de Biedma fue un poeta interesante. Mas que esta peli, la verdad. El retrato de una aburguesada gauche divine barcelonesa se retrata levemente... hubiera sido una linea argumental que quizas mereciese mas tratamiento.
It's OK, but not much more. I liked it more than the 2 Batman features signed by Nolan. Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page are gorgeous, I wish them both better movies than this one.
I think that Existenz, signed by Cronenberg 3 years later, was a better movie around more or less the same themes: sex, strangeness, body modification. But the irreality of Existenz was more compelling.
Standard biopic. At the end we're told Ray didn't try drugs anymore in the 2nd half of his life. But, what about sex life or the business entourage, which are also interesting parst of the plot in the the movie? those parallel stories end abruptly... That's cheating the audience!
