But am I the only person who thinks this is the same as the fake Seinfeld movie Sack Lunch?
Now I went it to this with high hopes. I loved the first one. What I will say is the satire of news turned to publicizing car chases, celebrity, and telling people what they want to hear is timely--the jokes just were mostly misses. I think Brick and his romance was a big disappointment, as well as his other lines and his funeral scene. I liked the fight scene I guess--but just not as funny. Even more far-fetched (and not in a good way) than the first.
This should have been titled after Tracy Morgan's fictional movie "Hard to Watch" from 30Rock. Man--it was a good movie, showcased a highly disfunctional family, and that there is not much hope in this life. I think it is a bit over-dramatic at times. I think that it is hard to believe nobody got up or walked out at that long-dinner scene. I know I wanted to get up and walk out..too much to take.
Favorite parts were definitely the landscape of Greenland & Iceland--and the biking and skateboarding scenes. Good overall story, very believable acting about awkward office interactions--found the stilted-ness very honest and funny.
Good feel good movie. Nice to learn the back story of the classic movie. I too would have been concerned about animated penguins.. But it was a good film. Emma Thompson is the highlight. But I also like Schwartzmann and Novak too.
