Lindsay's Review of Disney's A Christmas Carol
Eerily close-to-life animation, but just so narrowly missing that it bothers the eye more than a more free-wheeling cartoon-style. Although this extremely creepy version of Dickens is no doubt closer to the author's intent and is full of original quotations, the overall feel comes off more like Halloween than Christmas. Give me Patrick Stewart or the Muppets any day over this cold and scary take on an old favorite. Zemeckis tried to break up the darkness by a lot of action sequences, but sadly it just doesn't work.
