Movie Ratings and Reviews

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
½

Amazing. Fincher is the greatest.

Mysterious Skin

Great movie, just wish we didn't have to watch the men have sex, ya know... we get the idea we don't need close ups.

Network
Network(1976)
½

The movie itself I found boring, however it has some of the best moments in any movie you will ever see. Some great dialog toward the end and certainly a unique ending.

Be Cool
Be Cool(2005)

I thought this movie was a ton of fun. A lot of people dispise it, but I loved the characters and other than a shotty ending it was a really good film.

Cashback
Cashback(2007)
½

Watch the short film, the entire movie is rather disapointing.

Manhattan Murder Mystery

One of the premier Allen films, and certainly one of his most exciting films with plot twists and the like.

The Condemned

Just awful, the final 30 minutes of this film were among the worst endings ever... None of the deaths were interesting and they could have been, and the characters are mighty stupid.

Super High Me
½

This film prooves nothing we didn't already know about marijuana... but just reenforces the governments unlawful tactics to keep the world from the safer option than alcohol.

The Truman Show
½

A unique and intruging movie that ends up being a tragedy more so than the off-beat comedy that it looks at first glance.

The Purple Rose of Cairo

A very orginal fantasy with a good twist ending that reminds us that real life isn't a movie.

House of Sand and Fog

Horribly depressing movie, and its also one of the best acted movies I've ever seen. 2 thumbs up, but not one you would ever want to see twice.

Hannah and Her Sisters
½

Enjoyable with a good ending, but so similar to his other good films.

Melinda and Melinda

I found it very interesting, however its very strange seeing Will Ferrell play Woody Allen, it seemed extremely forced seeing as they are completely different people.

Lost In Translation
½

Really touching, the kind of film that makes you believe in friendship... but you can see where it is going right from the start, its very predictable.

The Crow
The Crow(1994)

The Crow was shot really well and the pacing is great, however the films details keep this from being a classic. It is just no fun to have a hero that can't really be hurt.

Step Brothers
½

Just another silly pointless comedy with an outlandish ending, but the laughs aren't as good as some of its counterparts.

Crimes and Misdemeanors
½

A movie that is really in tune with human emotion. It feels very real, one of Allen's best.

The Player
The Player(1992)
½

Over rated film I thought. All the characters and boring stereotypes frankly.

Insomnia
Insomnia(2002)

Parts of the movie were excellent, it was almost a Silence of the Lambs type beginning but then the plot takes unnecessary twists and turns that bring it down, spiraling down to a stupid ending.

Tootsie
Tootsie(1982)
½

An improved version of "Mrs. Doubtfire" and Dustin Hoffman is great.

Elephant
Elephant(2003)
½

I found myself almost rooting for the bad guys in the end because I just hated how phony most of them were. Decent film, very (and sometimes annoyingly) deliberate but it sends a good message... cherish every moment.

Mighty Aphrodite

Doesn't really have a point, just a bad version of Annie Hall.

Smoke
Smoke(1995)

A few very good stories with interesting characters, and Forest Whitaker and Harvey Heitel are 2 of the best.

Brick
Brick(2006)

This is like no High School I ever went to...which is the film's biggest issue. It is so far from reality (No parents, no police) but the ending is the only good thing about this film, its actually terrific.

Anatomy of a Murder
½

A strange ending that leaves much doubt in the viewers mind, it seems one twist short of being truly satisfying, but I think that is the point.

Thelma & Louise
½

Starts off as a great story of 2 friends finding themselves, and by the end you feel more sorry for the characters they take advantage of.

Vantage Point
½

It is entertaining, but did not feel real, or like it could happen. The film has almost zero down time, so its great to watch with friends, however don't expect a masterpiece.

Jacob's Ladder
½

Couldn't really get into it... rather over rated... but the film has something to say which is why lots of people enjoy it.

The Hudsucker Proxy
½

An improved, but more hoaky version of "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town" and the remake... it is quite an enjoyable story, and all while remaining PG.

Untraceable
Untraceable(2008)

I thought this was a very good film for what it was, but it asks you to suspend your belief of things a bit. It felt a lot like a CSI episode, but fans of Saw ect shall enjoy this, like I did.

Blue Velvet
Blue Velvet(1986)

Too many hard to watch scenes, and frankly I expected more.

Gladiator
Gladiator(2000)
½

Lots of boring parts, but the final 40 minutes of the film are really well done, this film deserves a lot of phrase.

Revolver
Revolver(2005)

The worst Ritchie film I have seen. The plot is not impossible to follow, but it is difficult and takes a LOT of short cuts.

Annie Hall
Annie Hall(1977)

Annie Hall is down right Hilarious, inspiring, and most of all a true to life film. This and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind are, by far, the 2 best love stories I have seen, and for different reasons.

Witness for the Prosecution
½

Top Shelf film; I loved it from beginning to end. The characters are great, and the ending is ovation worthy.

The Talented Mr. Ripley

The major plot holes bring this film down, its an interesting ride however.

Fatal Attraction
½

This movie gave me the willies, no two ways about it. It is VERY 1980s, and theres many times in the story where the plot comes to a screaching halt. There are some real great scenes, but a lot of boring times as well.

Little Children
½

Decent movie, but at times it seemed to drag on.

Back to the Future Part III

A good ending to one of the best trilogies ever made.

Back to the Future Part II
½

An acceptable follow up to the first film, but it tries to do too much. There are too many twists and turns and 'oh look what went wrong, AGAIN' that it isn't as good of a film.

Back to the Future
½

The 1980s at its best... Good morning, Mcfly!

Be Kind Rewind

They make crappy films and become a giant sensation, that much to be made no sense. It was hard buying into it, but nevertheless it did have a few moments.

Blow
Blow(2001)

This film is over rated for the most part.. the ending is very good but the rest of it is just kinda "meh".

Rounders
Rounders(1998)
½

A film very true to the poker world, but Ed Norton's (one of my favorite actors) character is over the top and just down right stupid, but a decent film.

The Bucket List
½

Suprizingly, this film is one of the most touching and inspirational films of the year. But for much of the movie I felt uncomfortable watching it and I thoguht they could have done more with the list and have more varation, but it was, as is, a good film.

Run Lola Run
Run Lola Run(1999)
½

RUN!! The ending is sort of stupid so it does not get that full complete 4th star.

Funny Games
Funny Games(2008)

Nearly a shot for shot remake of the first film, with the same director. The best part of this film was probably the Leno joke : "Its about a couple that goes on vacation and people play harmful psychological games with them. So they must have flown JetBlue"

The Sting
The Sting(1973)

A clever film that leaves you full of anticipation through most of it. Best film of the 1970s that I have seen thus far (I am not a big Godfather fan.)

Runaway Jury
Runaway Jury(2003)

An Allstar cast delivers a solid, twisty turny movie. I didn't enjoy the ending much, but it was unexpected to say the least.

The Butterfly Effect 2

Does not have much of the magic of the first film, but wasn't that bad. And the cast flixster has for this movie is completely wrong.

The Weather Man
½

A pretty good dark comedy. Nick Cage is excellent in the depressing main character (see: Adaptation)

The Mist
The Mist(2007)
½

I loved the "questions" portion of this film, but the answers, and the ending, were not as good as I expected.

Full Metal Jacket
½

Really like 2 movies put into one, the first being much better.

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay
½

Takes some rediculously wild "what the hell" turns through out the whole movie... but it still keeps you laughing.

Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

A socially significant movie, and parts it is worth a few laughs, but it failed to keep my interest a whole lot.

Casablanca
Casablanca(1942)

So many memorable quotes and intelligent film making. The first hour or so is very boring but once the answers start coming, it prooves to be well worth it. Heres looking at you, kid.

Amores Perros

Well made. Inarritu is one of the top 10 directors today, not to mention Guillermo Arriaga who has written all of Inarritu's good movies.

Amélie
Amélie(2001)

A film that appears maybe average after one viewing, but putting the pieces together at the end is most of the fun. And don't let the creepy cover of this movie scare you like it scared me... she is not that white at any point in the movie.

The Virgin Suicides

This movie takes boarderline forever to take form, but I have to say it is extremely powerful in time.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall
½

Actually hilarious and real, this movie truly did surprise me, and in a good way.

The Wicker Man
½

Burn baby, burn. Its slow to develop and there is far too much singing... but the final scene is pretty damn good.

One Hour Photo
½

Could have been a lot better... it is very creepy, but a lot of the time I just wanted more from the director.

The Fifth Element
½

Boring and just really.. nerdy..

Smiley Face
Smiley Face(2007)
½

Woulda been better if Anna Faris's character was just a LITTLE more tolerable...

One Eight Seven
½

Watch Sam Jackson in "A time to kill" its a better movie and explores really the same theme, when is it okay to kill? Where is that line?

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
½

It isn't hilarious, but its funny, and I think its best qualities are actually the dramatic ones.

Sideways
Sideways(2004)

A tale of the most difficult part of men's lives... Kind of boring, but it wraps up nicely. Haden Church has a future in the acting business, he is great in this.

Glengarry Glen Ross
½

Good movie, with some terrific actors.

Falling Down
Falling Down(1993)
½

Michael Douglas is terrific as the anti-hero Its a terrific movie with something to say.

Do the Right Thing

I did the wrong thing by watching this movie... Okay it wasnt that bad but I had to... it was too easy. Racial tension in a realsitic enviroment, but I did not fall in love with any of the characters. The ending is very good, however.

Hoosiers
Hoosiers(1986)
½

Over rated, unrealistic, and only enjoyable about an hour and a half into the film.

The Birds
The Birds(1963)

A movie about human paranoia, where Hitchcock intentionally does not answer your questions at the end. It needed an extra twist at the end to compare with Hitch's other great movies.

21 Grams
21 Grams(2003)

Very heavy, real drama. Not as good as Babel but its right up there.

Halloween
Halloween(1978)

The viewer is just bombarded with cliches for an hour and a half. I am sure this was great at its time but it doesn't hold up as well as some other classic horror films. Lets face it, it can not hold a candle up to Psycho.

Raiders of the Lost Ark
½

Better than most, or all, of all the "R" rated films in this genre, all be it this is rather silly.

Driving Miss Daisy

There is something to be pulled from this movie, and I think it is different for a lot of people. You will be able to relate to one aspect or anther of this film, which is what makes it good.

Cypher
Cypher(2002)

It makes things up as it goes along and makes its own rules. There are a few plot holes along the way, but its a good film for sci-fi fans.

Mulholland Drive

Too confusing, so much of the movie is NULL that it ruins it. VERY overrated.

Rain Man
Rain Man(1988)
½

Savants are by far the most interesting phenomenon I have come across, yet even with that, this movie is STILL a bore. After awhile it just, doesn't matter.

Go
Go(1999)
½

The first story is really the only captavating part of the whole film. Go is good but not great.

I'm Gonna Git You Sucka
½

A comedy with a decent story line, pretty rare. However neither is good enough to make this a GREAT film, but it is enjoyable none the less.

I Am Legend
I Am Legend(2007)

An improved version of 28 Days Later really. It was a mix between that, 12 Monkeys and The Day After Tomorrow.

Carrie
Carrie(1976)
½

Poor, poor Carrie. A must see for any horror fan.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding

A wedding based comedy about Racism that seems to normally be accepted.

Semi-Pro
Semi-Pro(2008)
½

Should win a Razzie for the worst picture of the year. Well maybe not but it is the biggest disapointment of the year.

11:14
11:14(2003)
½

Amazing. The movie runs from end to beginning, so you always know what is coming next but you never know how or why. A near perfect combination of Memento and Crash. It is awesome.

Die Hard
Die Hard(1988)

Could have been better, Bruce Willis is terrific, but it is so not believable that it just doesn't have much of an effect on the viewer other than 'oh look at that explosion!'

Signs
Signs(2002)

What to pick from... lets see, rediculous acts of fate, aliens who can not touch water (who doesnt like water?) And of course... the inpenetrable wooden door. Shyamalan is still the man but I am doubting it with every bad film of his I see.

Beautiful Girls
½

Great cast makes an average movie pretty good.

Storytelling
Storytelling(2002)

Todd Solondz is the master of family dramas. He frankly scares the crap out of me, but I LOVE his movies.

The Mothman Prophecies

I don't believe much in the super natural, and frankly this film didn't exactly make me want to. I hear the book is better.

Fargo
Fargo(1996)
½

The story line gets jumpled up so that half of the film could not possibly happen in real life.

Cruel Intentions

Would have been better if it at all seemed reasonable that Reese Witherspoon's character would ever fall for Ryan Phillippe. Made no sense.

Inside Man
Inside Man(2006)
½

Just when you think that you have seen this movie before, it takes a turn for the better. Pretty good film by a decent director.

The Comebacks

Some really funny moments but as far as a film its awful. But you will laugh if you like sports. The beginning is roll-around-on-the-floor hilarious. Great stoner movie.

Gattaca
Gattaca(1997)
½

A future maybe even worse than in Blade Runner, and its a much better film.

Misery
Misery(1990)

I admit it, I watched this movie because of the Direct TV commerial. It was creepy, intense, and a terrific film.

Captivity
Captivity(2007)
½

In better hands this film could have been pretty good. There is about 4 or 5 terrific scenes mixed in with about an hour of pretty boring B.S but it was decent.

Fried Green Tomatoes
½

One of the best endings I've seen, but its got some pacing problems that keep it from being a 'classic.'

Death Sentence

Revenge tale much like any other. Wan's worst film yet, yet still very watchable.

No Country for Old Men

Does something in the end that I have never seen a movie do before. Very rare that happens. I wont give it away, obviously, but watch it.

XXX
XXX(2002)

Hip Thriller, and fun. The ending was pretty freaky as well.

Derailed
Derailed(2005)
½

A very ruthless film, decent but not one of the best.

Gone Baby Gone
½

Impressive movie that brings up a lot of morality issues. It is not as good as Good Will Hunting, but a solid effort by the Affleck brothers.

Boogie Nights
½

Love the actors, but over all a rather boring film.

Twelve Monkeys (12 Monkeys)
½

Decent movie taken from the french short film, but it is over rated to some extent.

Knocked Up
Knocked Up(2007)
½

No where near as good as 40 year old virgin, and just not as funny. I was personally dispointed.

House of 9
House of 9(2005)
½

It is a great idea for a movie, poorly carried out and the acting is horrible. My favorite part is when she is supposed to be crying and she is actually laughing. Nice. The last 20 minutes is great, so it boosts the rating a bit.

Primal Fear
Primal Fear(1996)

Ed Norgon is a god. Nuff said. Great ending. The rest of it just makes me feel uncomfortable as a viewer.

The Hole
The Hole(2001)
½

Decent horor film, but the director over-deceived the audience.

Snatch
Snatch(2001)

Not as good as Lock Stock, but still a pretty good film.

300
300(2007)

Over. Rated. People say ohhh my oh myy this is so cool and violent. Nah, I have seen a lot worse. Its a decent film, yes, but its not the best ever. Gerard Butler is great in the role though.

The Negotiator
½

Awesome film, it may be the best pure police drama I have ever seen. It is intense, all be it absurd, but you won't be able to stop in the middle. Spacey and Sam Jackson are terrific.

Saving Silverman

Just down right AWFUL.

Finder's Fee
Finder's Fee(2001)
½

A decent twist at the end can not save this movie from being just awful.

Palindromes
Palindromes(2004)

Really confusing, you really need to be on top of your game to understand what it is trying to say, and the message is good.

The Girl Next Door
½

Not funny enough to be a comedy, not powerful enough to be a drama, it falls into the area of your 'average' film. The music is good though.

Hard Candy
Hard Candy(2006)

This film just made me feel so uncomfortable, yet I kept wanting to see more. The journey is too rough and tumble, leading to an ending that is horribly dissatisfying.

Little Man Tate
½

Drama that just doesn't pack a lot of punch. It starts out well but dies down that is quite untrue to life in a lot of cases.

Arlington Road
½

A pretty good "GOTCHA!" film, but most of it is boring.

The Prestige
The Prestige(2006)
½

A good movie, Bale and Jackman are great rivals and the ending reveals some great stuff.

Fallen
Fallen(1997)

A kind of ending that just leaves you angry. it does what a lot of movies try to do, it leaves you with a lot to think about. It is a cross between Se7en and the Twilight Zone.

Diabolique (Les Diaboliques)
½

I actually predicted the end of this film early on, but it was a good Hitchcock-esk film.

Disturbia
Disturbia(2007)

Not even close to as good as Rear Window, but man Sarah Roemer is hot enough to make it worth watching.

Life Is Beautiful (La Vita è bella)

This is one of the most touching movies I have ever seen. The reason why it is so touching is because you do not see it coming. The first half of the film is a corny, cheesy love story, and the second half is a just breathtaking, and makes even the toughest guys cry. Believe me, I've seen it.

The Constant Gardener

Politicaly charged thriller, but it is hard to get into.

Titanic
Titanic(1997)

No matter what anybody has to say about it, Titanic is still one of the most touching movies ever made.

The Shawshank Redemption

This is an absolute CLASSIC film, and Robbins and Freeman have great chemistry together. One of the better films ever made.

Secret Window
½

Scary, with a twist ending. Not as good as Hide N' Seek and they are very identical.

Short Cuts
Short Cuts(1993)
½

Magnolia's not-so-good older brother. This film is interesting at times and very poetic, and it will leave you with something to think about, but it is not as powerful as Magnolia.

Leaving Las Vegas

A crap version of Scent of a Woman. Very over rated film.

Vanilla Sky
Vanilla Sky(2001)

An interesting story that is carried in chaos rather than reality. I am looking forward to to seeing the orginal version.

Friday
Friday(1995)

Not funny at all. amd is as boring as hell until the end.

Juno
Juno(2007)

The story seems rather mundane at times, it is pretty funny but at LOT of Holywood usuals.

Boyz n the Hood

Laurence Fishburne is awesome in this gritty, powerful drama. Certainly worth seeing.

The Descent
The Descent(2006)

One of the scariest movies ever made, the film taps into so many of your worst fears. It has too many jump scares, but the story is pretty good.

Crash
Crash(2004)

Amazing drama that packs a punch, and frankly leaves you interested the entire movie. There are no real boring parts at all to this movie.

Big Fish
Big Fish(2003)

A movie that only Tim Burton could make, this film is a puzzle you can not solve. What is real, what isn't, in the end it does not matter.

Beer League
Beer League(2006)
½

Hilarious... I love this movie.

Magnolia
Magnolia(1999)
½

Some movies are movies, and others are full on experiences, much like Magnolia is. You will not fully appreciate this film right after you watch it, but its one that when you really think about it, so much clicks. One of the best scripts ever written.

I Heart Huckabees
½

Confusing and rather pointless, but its funny and has a good motto. Plus the actors are great.

Collateral
Collateral(2004)

Exciting, hip thriller, with a good twist towards the end. Very enjoyable.

Happiness
Happiness(1998)

This film screwed with my head more than any other I have ever seen. Its good but oh so creepy!

Thirteen
Thirteen(2003)

The end of this film maybe the most powerful of any movie I have seen in awhile. Sure its a little rediculous but its a good film.

Flightplan
Flightplan(2005)
½

Would have been a terrific short film, but it just doesn't work well as a full feature, there is no enough there.

Dial M for Murder

Great film with a good twist at the end that makes you say "why didn't I see that!"

Strangers on a Train

Not one of Hitchcock's best in my opinon. There is no real 'mystery' here, just a lot of tension.

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle

One of the top 5 funniest films ever made, despite almost all the jokes being about the same few things. I loved it, its a riot, you will watch it more than once and laugh just as much.

The Longest Yard
½

The cameos are fun, but it is somewhat tired-some.

Airplane 2 - The Sequel
½

Hilarious! Most people do not like this, but I loved it. A lot of it is reused and forced, but I think it is funnier than the first. I love it.

Psycho
Psycho(1960)

An absolute classic movie, good, scary mystery.

Mystic River
Mystic River(2003)
½

Clint Eastwood's best film, and the film of the year in 03'.

The Royal Tenenbaums

I was expecting a comedy and got something very different. The cast woud lead you to believe that it was a comedy, and it is listed as such, but its more of a family drama.

Ali G Indahouse

Such a stupid movie, but I am not sure I have laughed at a movie this hard in a long time.

The Italian Job

Unrealistic, quirky and oh of course there must be a love story thrown in there. This movie had hollywood cut-out written all over it.

Requiem for a Dream

Burtal drama. Drepressing, Chaos and really good! i

American Beauty

Great film. I love Kevin Spacey in this.

Angel Heart
Angel Heart(1987)
½

Quite a twist at the end.

A Time to Kill
½

Pretty good, gets boring, but there is some really strong stuff in this. I won't forget the "Let him go" scene soon.

The Man
The Man(2005)

This is a great movie. Gotta Love Samuel L Jackson.

National Lampoon's Van Wilder

A good film, but they tried to do too much with it, and make it teach some great lesson or something. It didn't do that at all, and most of the lines are not that funny but I still enjoyed it.

Frequency
Frequency(2000)

The best time travel movie but it does get kind of corny and such, but isn't it nice to dream?

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Been one of my favorites since I was a kid. A classic heartwarming tail.

Hide and Seek
½

Creepy and a decent twist at the end. Worth watching but not one of the best.

Fred Claus
Fred Claus(2007)

Awful forced humor, and very boring. Plus the whole idea is just stupid, who gives someone the right to shut down Santa Claus? That is just stupid. Horrible plot holes, and its not interesting.

Good action, big names, but no depth. Decent film.

½

Thought it would be much better but the ending stinks quite frankly.

Twisted
Twisted(2004)
½

Not worth it in the end.

Dave
Dave(1993)
½

Surprizingly good. Has moments of triumph, humor, romance and drama, but the whole idea of it is silly. At times it feels like a B film... but its pretty good.

What Dreams May Come

I expected this film to be much better. It knocks you out with the love story and it sort of ruined it.

A Simple Plan

The characters at the beginning of the film seem blocky and just flat stupid. Could of been better but a good thiller none the less.

40 Days and 40 Nights

Hartnett is good in this role, but the script isn't funny and the whole thing gets old pretty fast.

The Forgotten

Really out there, and in fact goes too far 'out there' to be a good movie in my opinion. It just gets redicious.

Perfect Stranger

A nice thriller that does not have many dull moments at all.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
½

A good remake, not as good as the orginal but most of it was good. The singing is really annoying, they need to ditch the whole sing along thing.

The Jerk
The Jerk(1979)
½

A good film with a lot of laughs mixed in. Probably the best Steve Martin movie out there.

Reign Over Me

A beautiful film, but just didn't have a point. the movie takes you to the warehouse but doesn't deliver the goods.

Saw IV
Saw IV(2007)
½

Can't believe I am going to say this.... but this was the first Saw film that really just is not worth watching. The most appropriate title for this movie is $... cause thats what they were after.

Seven (Se7en)

In my opinion the greatest film ever made, it is my favorite film Its a little gross and shocking but that is the point.

½

This is so over rated, the movie is just not a very good, its kind of boring really.

The Vampire Lovers

Lesbian vampires.... nice?

Stand by Me
Stand by Me(1986)

The last line of the movie really explains the entire thing. The movie about friendship and bonding, and it really hits home in the end. Its a powerful movie, even though the plot isn't really that good, it makes for a great movie.

The Bride of Frankenstein
½

Terrific film... some how. Usually I hate old films but this one is great, and works on more than one level.

The Village
The Village(2004)

Great director, poor film. It is very mysterious, yes, but does not deliever like all his other films do.

Once upon a Time in Mexico

Senseless violence. Just awful.

Good Luck Chuck
½

So cleche I can not even describe it. Why do all of Dane Cook's movies suck?

Reno 911!: Miami
½

Some funny parts, but not enough of them. The beginning is by far the funniest part of the whole film.

Scream 3
Scream 3(2000)
½

Why on earth did they make this? Just ringing the money out of the series. Scary parts? yes, but its boring.

Scream 2
Scream 2(1997)

Jeff Dunham: Arguing with Myself
½

He is really talented, the characters really come alive, but a lot of it is not too funny. Still rather enjoyable.

Superbad
Superbad(2007)
½

Hilarious, it is the funniest movie since Clerks 2. The best part of it all was that the main characters were not unbelievably stupid, but instead more like real people, which is rare in films these days.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

This film can stand up to today's horrer films with ease. It is ol d but does not really feel old, it is just as creepy today as it was in 1974. The film is truly a classic.

Punch-Drunk Love
½

Strange film, and it was all good until the very disapointing ending. It is not Paul Thomas Anderson's best work (duh, Magnolia was amazing) but it was a solid film.

Fracture
Fracture(2007)

Next time Primal Fear this is the best court room drama I have seen yet, it is instense and very very smart. Its a deffinate watch.

Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj (Van Wilder 2)
½

Taj is a completely different character in this film than in the worst Van Wilder, and the film almost doesnt cotain Van's quizzicle sense of humor and funny whit. Its rather plan.

Half Baked
Half Baked(1998)

Was very underachieveing, there is few funny scenes (the snoop dawg cameo is hilarious) but the whole thing just does not work.

Canadian Bacon
½

Some real funny parts, and the idea for the film is hilarious, but the film loses so much steam by the end that you just don't care about any of it.

The Contract
The Contract(2006)

Very intense and the emotion to me, seems very real. Its a good movie, not great, but really enjoyable.

The Number 23

The idea of this movie is facinating, and it carries the whole movie because the actual film gets rather tedious and dull most of the time, and the ending is a real non-creative drag.

I Think I Love My Wife

A story that only some people can truely relate to. However I do believe the message is great. Do not live everyday like it is your last becasue its not, and you have to live with your choices for years and years. The message is great, the film just seems like an extended episode of "Everyone Hates Chris" with different characters.

Good Will Hunting

Robin Williams prooves that he is just as good of an actor as he is a comedian. He steals the whole movie with a great performance. The script is good as well, and the transformation of Will Hunting is great to watch. This is a really good film!

Trainspotting

This movie would be much better if it could keep the steam from the first 30 minutes of the movie for the whole film. Because after that, for 30 minutes, it gets rather boring. The end is simply rewarding. It is no Shawshank Redemption but it ends up being a terrific film.

The Crying Game

Really boring, way too creepy. To me this script was written by a 10 year old kid in his basement thinking "oh wouldnt that be creepy" to himself.

Smokin' Aces
Smokin' Aces(2007)

Smokin' is right. This is a very high paced film, and you might miss something important if you blink. I think it gets a bit too complacated for its own good but the action sequences are great. Its a total 'man' movie.

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
½

A movie about obsession really, but it is such an awkward experiance that you really feel hard pressed to marry yourself with any of the characters in the film. The ending is also pretty awful, I was disapointed. They did way too much with it.

The Simpsons Movie
½

Hilarious! It is just like an extended episode yes, and the plot isn't exactly moving, but its hilarious and well worth the wait!

Sling Blade
Sling Blade(1996)
½

The ending is a big downer, sure I like where he went with it, but the execution was awful.

Face/Off
Face/Off(1997)

Cage is a total B.A. but the movie is just too cleche for its own good. You can see things way before the happen, but its a decent movie.

Zodiac
Zodiac(2007)

David Fincher again prooves he is a master at suspense, but this films problem is that almost nothing happens for a whole hour. It get terribly boring, but it is still a great mystery.

Grindhouse
Grindhouse(2007)
½

Hilarious, over the top and fun. Really a very enjoyable 3 hours. I love it. The movies were in the wrong order I think, because Rodriques's was action action action and Tarantino's was mostly woman speaking for an hour, and it kind of disrupts that tone. The trailers are funny.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry
½

Some really funny stuff, though the whole idea of the movie is preposterious and they shove it down your throat.

The Dinner Game (Le Dîner de cons)
½

This movie is hilarious, there are several laugh out loud funny parts, and the ending is great. However, there are a lot of slow parts that drag and drag, but it is in the top 15 funniest movies ever made.

Snakes on a Plane
½

Awesome. I went to the midnight showing and it was the most fun I have ever had at a movie. Its so lame, so great and intense. Really, I thought it was great.

Red Eye
Red Eye(2005)

Murphy is super creepy, and McAdams does a great job as victum. Sure it is not the greatest movie ever but great acting is needed, and achieved with this rather short, simple Craven picture.

Equilibrium
Equilibrium(2002)
½

Decent movie but at some points just seems to move slow. You really do not care about anything until the last 30 minutes, but it does end rather well.

Wild Things
Wild Things(1998)
½

I have never seen a film with more twists and sudden turns in it than this, and it probably twists too much. There are a lot of points in this movie were it just seems so corny, and not to mention its a very...err...horny film. It is pretty decent though, but not GREAT.

The Killing
The Killing(1956)

One of the very few old movies I really did like. It takes a complex heist and makes it easy enough for everyone to understand, its very good.

The Score
The Score(2001)

Typical genre picture but with big stars and an unexpected ending. Still the film for me was way more boring that it should be and you are better off going with The Killing, because its very similar but a lot better.

The Island
The Island(2005)

The first hour of this movie is great, but after that it becomes just one big long chase scene. I love the movie but it lost a lot of uhmp at the end.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
½

Very disapointing, the movie, like hte book, was too long and drawn out to massive proportions. Unlike all the other films, there is no big 'victory' moment in the end, the kind we all love and crave. This is the worst Potter film yet.

Million Dollar Baby

Terrific film, and one that stays with you for some time.

Outbreak
Outbreak(1995)

This movie would be so much better if Donald Sutherland's character was not included. He is so annoying, ignorant and down right cocky it ruins the movie. It is still very exciting though, and was THAT close (in my opinion) of being one of the best films of the 90s.

My Little Eye

Rather boring, confusing and there is no victorious moment at the end... its just very blah. Leave you feeling like crap quite frankly.

Interstate 60

This is an amazing film, so orginal, so interesting, and so funny! It is massively under distrubuted and under played, but do not let that fool you. There is just no way you won't love this! This is the first rated R film I would ever let my kids watch!

White Chicks
White Chicks(2004)

This really is not funny. Its just so typical and yeah. Pass on this one.

Where the Red Fern Grows

Great story that they hollywood'd at little too much.

Traffic
Traffic(2000)
½

Extremely boring, and its a real downer. Luis Guzman makes this movie what it is, because his character is hilarious. It is the worse than Magnolia, Babel or Crash, which have the similar style. I would skip this film, but a lot of people love it, so maybe not.

Titan A.E.
Titan A.E.(2000)
½

I liked it, it really makes you think about things, and I liked that.

The Thin Blue Line
½

One of the most important films in history in that it saved an innocient man's life.

The Spongebob Squarepants Movie

Takes advantage of the TV show to make a below average movie that brings in millions. Decent movie I guess, the ending is nice, but idk. Not the best.

The Shining
The Shining(1980)
½

Scary, almost too scary. Its kind of boring on purpose to really make it scarier.

The Rookie
The Rookie(2002)
½

I loved this movie because it features my favorite team (The Devil Rays) and its not too bad. Rather imspiring. Some of the stuff is just corny. The stupid MPH reader that decides to not light 2 bulbs up is just so Disney, and so dumb. Otherwise, good stuff!

The Ringer
The Ringer(2005)

Stupid...stupid....stupid...

The Reaping
The Reaping(2007)
½

Very predictable until a pretty good little twist at the end there.

Over rated to the max. I guess its a decent film but it is not as good as you have heard.

The Other Sister

Terribly boring, one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

The Jacket
The Jacket(2005)
½

Weird and impossible... but not that bad.

The Illusionist

Boring, but with a decent ending. Average film I'd say.

The Departed
The Departed(2006)
½

Really over rated. I am not saying this is a terrible film but it just was not as good as it was advertised to be, or as good as most people say it is (in my opinion anyway)

The Break-Up
The Break-Up(2006)
½

Not as bad as people say but... bad.

The Bone Collector
½

I watched this movie with very low expectations, and they were exceeded by a lot. A good watch if you like police dramas and such.

The Aristocrats

Boring. I love the joke but this just is not a well put together documentary. Really disapointing, but hear the joke once, its funny.

Taxi Driver
Taxi Driver(1976)

One of the movies that defined American cinema. That being said, its not my favorite. Probably because so much has been taken from it over the years.

Super Size Me

This movie completely scared the living feces out of me, but its not funny as some people say, and its not as good as most people say. Watch it but don't use it as a bible. You will never leave your house again.

Stealing Harvard
½

The scene where they rob in conveniance store makes this whole movie, but other than that its not funny, but I enjoyed it.

Spy Hard
Spy Hard(1996)
½

I love Nielson, but the jokes are not that funny and such.

Spanglish
Spanglish(2004)
½

Rather bland. A chick flick that I don't think relates to men very well, because I didn't get it. The grandmother is hilarious though.

Spaceballs
Spaceballs(1987)
½

So stupid, so over rated and just not funny. Mel Brooks is a comedic god, but misses with this.

Shaun of the Dead
½

Really odd. I could not tell if it was just a parody or was trying to be serious, in fact I still do not know.

Shane
Shane(1953)

Zzzz sloooowwwwwwww.

Schindler's List
½

Sad, but a little on the boring side. Its a decent movie, but not something I want to watch more than once.

Scary Movie 3

This is funny. Almost as good as the first, but not quite that good. Sheen is great though.

Scary Movie 2

Not funny. The worst Scary Movie by far.

Scary Movie
Scary Movie(2000)

Terrific. They did steal WAY to much from scream, but it was really funny.

Scary Movie 4

The Saw spoof is pretty funny, and some of the others are okay, but its not that good overall.

Real Genius
Real Genius(1985)

Could barely get through this movie, its so stupid and boring.

Rat Race
Rat Race(2001)
½

Enjoyable the first time you watch it, but I don't think its possible to watch it twice.

Pokemon the First Movie - Mewtwo vs. Mew

I remember being so excited for this movie and being let down, even as a kid. Just stupid.

Pokemon 3: The Movie
½

Intense crap right here. I loved it, but you have to know the show and such to really get all of it.

Pokemon - The Movie 2000

Better than the first, that is not really saying that much.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles
½

There is only one funny part of this movie, but the ending is really touching. Its average.

Pi
Pi(1998)
½

I hate the look of this movie. I find its ideas fascinating but does not make for a great movie.

Orgazmo
Orgazmo(1998)

The best thing you can say about this movie is that it was a sign of great things to come... it is really silly but kind of funny.

National Lampoon's Animal House

I guess I just don't think this is funny. I had trouble sitting through the whole thing.

Mr. 3000
Mr. 3000(2004)
½

I love the look of this movie, the ESPN-ness and such, but the plot and jokes were horrible. Not funny.

Moulin Rouge!
½

Baz Luhrmann should stick to speeches. This movie was just too... musical. I guess thats the point.

Mothlight
Mothlight(1963)

Gives me a giant headache watching this, because it just moves way too fast. So annoying and pointless.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

I have nothing to say. This movie was the first A list comedy ever made, its great!

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie

Good times, good times. Not a good movie, but for some reason I really want to watch it right now.

Mallrats
Mallrats(1995)

This is stupid. This is my least favorite Kevin Smith film by far, because maybe I am not enough of a comic book geek to get it.

Lost in Space
½

Danger... of falling asleep, Will Robinson...

Little Man
Little Man(2006)

This is somewhat orginal stuff. I mean yeah its not that funny but I enjoyed watching it.

Léon: The Professional
½

Good film, but not GREAT. Gary Oldman is overly creepy, and overly acts almost everything and that gets annoying. The story is sweet, and the action is grand, so its a good watch.

Layer Cake(2005)
½

The ending is really cool but its only decent until then.

½

Not funny, dull, boring and extremely disapointing.

Enjoyable. And a twist I did not see coming at all. Enjoyable if you liked the Sixth Sense, Unbreakable or the like.

Holes
Holes(2003)

The book is so much better, its not even funny. It was nice seeing it brought to life, but its not that great.

Happy Gilmore
½

Bob Barker makes this movie what it is. Lets face it.

Hannibal Rising

I came in expecting Silence and got Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It is okay, but really should have been better.

Hannibal
Hannibal(2001)

Disapointing, especially because Jody Foster did not come back. It is the worst of the series, but its still Hannibal Lecter.

Grandma's Boy

This just isn't funny. Its stupid. Maybe becasue I watched it right after seeing Waiting... which was great, and this was just dumb and is liked by virgins who live in their parents basement... im sure.

Gothika
Gothika(2003)

Would be so much better if it made sense, but it does not. Its frustrating when you are trying to figure out the big twist and just realize it was lazy writing

Ghost Dog - The Way of the Samurai
½

An odd movie really, but it was okay. Whitaker is a great actor.

Field of Dreams

How to make an 40 year old man cry. Great film that really makes you believe in magic. At least for 106 minutes.

Epic Movie

Worst movie I have ever seen. Period. It is just a bunch of bad jokes one after another.

Employee of the Month

Awful film. Not funny, hardly orginal, and just awful? Got the point?

This is what you can do with $7,000. Make an intense movie, thats also fun and worth while. One of the greatest achievements in cinema right here. Great film.

Ed Wood
Ed Wood(1994)
½

Its not really that great a movie, but the story is just so funny and irresistable. God Bless Edward D. Wood Jr

Donnie Darko
Donnie Darko(2001)

The ending just ruins this film. So disapointing.

Dogma
Dogma(1999)

Loved it. Loved it because it has pissed off religous groups without being anti-god in any way. Just terrific.

Desperado
Desperado(1995)

This was crappy. The perfect hero who could not be hurt enough to be stopped. I just don't buy that 5 men shooting at someone not moving that fast could all miss, and then be killed. Its just dumb. Not to mention way too typical, and boring.

Déjà Vu
Déjà Vu(2006)

Eh. Giant plot holes, and such a typical hollywood ending. Pass this one.

½

Typical teen drama where not enough happens for my tastes.

Coach Carter
Coach Carter(2005)
½

Just way over the top, and relaly the typical sports film, and it follows that pattern. These teenage actors were really good though, I was impressed.

Children of Men
½

OVER. RATED! People say this is one of the best movies of 2006 and I thought it was just awful. The plot sounds great, but it doesn't pull through for me.

Caddyshack
Caddyshack(1980)

Bringing Down the House
½

"The cool points are out the window, I'm all caught up in the game"

Blazing Saddles
½

Good film, and better when you realize the racial boundries that excisted when this was made. It is funny, but kind of a one trick pony in that its all about how everyone under estimates the black guy. I still like it though, but its not Brooks' best film.

Being John Malkovich
½

This is just very odd. I did not like it too much, but it is very orginal and you will never see something like this.

Death to Smoochy

Some how I just love this film. Its awful, I know its awful, but I loved it!

Unbreakable
Unbreakable(2000)

I loved this movie. It took a subject that I find not interesting at all (comic books) and made me interested. Thats hard to do because im a stubburn guy. Great twist, good suspence and Bruce Willis prooves once again he is the man.

The Machinist

Great movie but the ending was a really big disapointment. Christian Bale may give the most amazing perforance I have ever seen in this movie if you count all the weight he lost to be in it. He should have won an Oscar for this one.

Awful. This is not funny at all, I laughed very few times.

Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector
½

Absurd but any movie with Larry the Cable Guy will make me watch.

Sherlock Jr.
Sherlock Jr.(1924)

Amazing stunt work for the time period, a real good film.

Jesus Camp
Jesus Camp(2006)

One of the better documentary style films I have ever seen. Its very disturbing, but not once did it ever insult religion, it was decent at just showing you what was going on. As a religious person myself, I thought 'wow these people are crazy' without getting the impression that the film makers were athiest or something of that sort. Great film!

Hitch
Hitch(2005)

Surprisingly good. Theres enough in this movie to deff make it worth watching, and I was sort of forced to watch it and thought it would be awful. It was pretty good.

Little Nicky(2000)

Hilarious... with so many A list actors, what is there not to love?

Garden State
Garden State(2004)

An emo kids dream right here. Good film, the only knock I have on it is that sometimes Mr. Braff under estimates his viewers and during a scene doesn't think you quite understand the emotion, so he needs to throw pop music in your face to make sure you got it.

The Waterboy
The Waterboy(1998)

Some really hilarious scenes in this movie best out a really lousy plot. Good flick though, it is really funny.

The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle

Funny film, absured in every way and just a riot!

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

What got it all started. A good first serving of Potter madness that swept the nation.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

This book is the best in the series, the movie just does not live up to that but it is still pretty good.

American Pie 5: The Naked Mile

Here is what this movie is about: Sex. Sex. Sex. Sex. Got the idea? Stupid, one dementional crap this is.

American Pie Presents: Band Camp

Stupid as heck, and they could not even get Seann William Scott for 2 minutes to do a cameo, that shows you how much he thought of of this movie. It is decent though.

American Pie
American Pie(1999)

Hilarious film that does reflect high school, like it or not.

A great redemption story, and some what under rated.

Waiting
Waiting(2005)

Such a suspenseful thriller, with many twists and turns. The story is not alwways coherant but its scary without being repulsive, a lot of movies can't do that.

Pan's Labyrinth

½

½

The second film is much funnier than the first, but I will tell you that the late Lloyd Bridges was the king of comedy. He is so funny.

½

This is just non-stop hilarious. One of the funniest comedies I have ever seen. Its relentlessly funny, and the Apocalypse Now spoof had me on the floor laughing.

½

The first half of this movie is absolutely hilarious, maybe the best I have ever seen. After that though, it switches up into a stupid drama that makes no coherant sense. I love Vince Vaughn though, he is the king of comedy right now.

½

Very few movies can be shocking now a days because movies have gone so far and done so much. This one is the most shocking film I have ever seen. The scene where the game is introduced just turns my stomach thinking about it.

One of the best, and most funny movies ever made. There is just so much to laugh at, and wow. Amazing!

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
½

It is the best Guy Ritchie film out there. It has action, humor and a smart script. It is annoying to listen to the heavy British accents the whole movie though, but yeah, watch this film.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
½

Booooorring. I loved the 2 other films that came after this, but this movie alone is just awful, way over rated.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
½

Great conclusion. You know exactly how the movie will end from the first one, but somehow Peter Jackson makes you care so much about it.

Memento
Memento(2000)

Very orginal film, and its very exciting. I think the ending is good but not the best in film history like some say. Still a great film.

Top Secret!
Top Secret!(1984)

A riot! Hilarious film. Just relentlessly funny, man I love it.

The 40 Year Old Virgin
½

A dirty comedy with a touching story, very rare. I love this movie.

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
½

Not only is this absolutely hilarious, but also so culturally relivant. Its not just stupid humor and if you think it is, you are didn't get this film.

Reservoir Dogs
½

Tarantino stole this directly from City of Fire, but it is still his best movie in my opinion, very exciting and yet very simple.

The Sixth Sense
½

Does anyone really not like this movie? Its a real classic, and deserves it. So cleaver, and really good for all ages.

The Butterfly Effect
½

Great film. I was not expecting something this good, but to be honest its everything the hipe says it is. The ending is great. This is such a memorable film.

Wrongfully Accused
½

Two words. I pee'd. So funny.

True Romance
True Romance(1993)
½

Terrific! So many A list actors, and great cameos from Samuel L, Christaphoer Walken and Michael Rapaport, this is a great, unwatched film!

Not Another Teen Movie
½

Hilarious. Nuff said. So many movies have the goal of this one, this may the only one that achieves it.

Grave of the Fireflies (Hotaru no haka)
½

I hate anime. However, this is such a great film. This is one of a few films I cried during, and I am hardly ashamed to admit that. Such a great story of survival and loss. Watch, and watch the whole thing, you won't be disapointed, as long as you have a heart.

Lucky Number Slevin
½

Way too much happesn before the explanation occurs and that just confusing really, but a great action film. All the big names in it is also interesting, and Sleven is hilarious, has many funny lines.

The Usual Suspects
½

Terrific film! I loved the ending, and the story is both reasonable and interesting. It embarasses many of the other films that try to be like it.

Babel
Babel(2006)
½

Loved it even though the style of film has been used up at this point with Crash, Traffic, ect. Still the drama is great, and you really do care about these characters, the director does a great job of that.

The Boondock Saints
½

A very exciting style of film making, and despite its awful violence, it is some how pleasant at the same time. Never has killing seemed so... majestic.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
½

Best Lord of the Rings movie, solid film really, even though it is all so nerdy.

Oldboy
Oldboy(2005)
½

Super creepy, super great. Not exactly your family film but one of the best films I have ever seen.

The Silence of the Lambs
½

A great psychological thriller that some what messes with your head. Sticks so true to the novel, you really have to appreciate this kind of great film making.

American History X

One of the best films ever made as far as I am concerned. The ending is great, and its message is even better. Ed Norton gives one of the best performances of the 90s as well. Just a great, near flawless, film.

Back to the Well: Clerks II
½

A really interesting documentary, and well done. It was interesting to see how one of the funniest films I have ever seen was put together and how close it really was to not even being made.

Clerks II
Clerks II(2006)

Funniest movie ever made. Enough said. This movie such a riot, I have watched it at least 5 times and I am not bored of it at all. Its truely a great, and better than the first.

Little Miss Sunshine

Silly, absurbed, but the film really makes you root for it, and its a modern classic.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

The greatest love story ever told. Nuff said. Thats all you have to say. One of the only romances I can recommend for both sexes at any age.

Saw (short film)
½

Intense short film, would lead to greater things.

Saw
Saw(2004)

One of the best movies I have ever seen. It is the only one of the Saw films with a good story, and of course the ending is just shocking. You have to watch it, I don't care who you are. It is not as gross as it gets credit for.

The Life of David Gale

So under rated. I loved this film so much, and the twist at the very end is breathing taking. Really a great film. Kevin Spacey is amazing as well. Watch this movie, you will love it.

The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!

One of the funniest films I have ever seen. It does it without being overly dirty or rude, but with good ol' classic hilarity. It may never be matched.

Napoleon Dynamite

Funny the first time you see it, but not after that, and not after you hear people make dumb jokes about it, and frankly the movie itself gets so boring half way through once you get used to it.

Men in Black
Men in Black(1997)

So entertaining, absurd and fun!

Men in Black II

Typical of what you would think the Men in Black sequal would be. Decent action, but not that great.

Scream
Scream(1996)
½

Ruined by Scary Movie because they used too much of it, but it is a decent film, but often it is hard to tell if it is a parody or a real scary film.

Black Snake Moan
½

Great acting, but the story is decent at best, in fact it is kind of stupid. I liked it though.

Changing Lanes
½

One of the biggest flaws of this movie is that almost none of the characters to me seem likeable until the very end. It just seems like there is something fishy and unnerving about all the characters, big or small. Sure it is a rather intense film, b...(read more)ut its not a great movie by any means, and frankly I believe it is Sam Jackson's worst work to date.

An Inconvenient Truth
½

One of the scariest films I have ever seen, and really I do not know how much of it is skewed in the direction of his point of view, but its a good film, and rather interesting, even though he makes it much about himself than the issue, and that is ...(read more)annoying, nobody cares about just Al Gore exept ... Al Gore.
