You Can Count on Me (2000)
Very good tale of the re-connecting between an in-control sister and her misfit brother, both of whom are messed up and just trying to move through life. Linney was great!

In the Valley of Elah (2007)
Pretty good movie about a father's quest to find his son who is AWOL and then to uncover the truth of his death. Shows some true disturbances in relation to soldiers and the effects war has on them.

RocknRolla (2008)
Pretty good Guy Ritchie film. Excellent camera angles and shots in certain places. I like the story and how all the people are inter-connected in ways they are not aware of.

Grey Gardens (2009)
Drew Barrymore absolutely stole the show on this one. She was captivating! What an interesting tale of their lives and eccentricities.

District 9 (2009)
What an excellent film! I was so surprised at how well they captured the idea of segregation by race and the treatment of "sub-par" beings by using the aliens as an issue. Very well done and a great story. (The hand-held camera was a little disturbing, though, and a little nauseating.)

Quarantine (2008)
I loved this movie! It was nicely disturbing in the most basic ways, and the fact that it was shot by hand-held in a documentary style made it perfect. It was so disturbing in the end when you know it can only end badly.

Funny People (2009)
I was very disappointed in this movie. I think the trailers were misleading in giving the impression it would have some funny moments, but it did not at all. Over all, it was very depressing. I understood the subject matter would be so, but the movie was overall a downer and not quite what I expected from Judd Apatow.

Had some decent creepy moments and had the potential to be a good movie, but became very ridiculous in the end, making the movie not worth it overall.

Orphan (2009)
Not the best thriller, but it definitely had some good creepy moments. The background at the beginning lasted too long, until she really started doing disturbing things. But when it's revealed who she really is, that made the movie for me, since I am fascinated by those people!

Brazil (1985)
Very bizarre, but one can expect nothing less from Gilliam. Some moments were funny and intriguing, but overall it was not terribly exciting and just seemed not worth watching.

Volver (2006)
Excellent! Love this director's movies. Very convincing relationships between the characters with a very bizarre story, including some dark events and dark history. Cruz was very good.

Numb (2007)
I thought that this movie was great. Matthew Perry was excellent in this role. Very well done movie about a disturbed man who doesn't feel anything in his life but wants to get better.

Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989)
Found another Woody Allen movie I like (which was nice since I don't usually like him.) Witty and interesting view on morality.

Reservation Road (2007)
The idea behind this movie was good. And the tormenting of the characters in a very difficult situation is troubling. But the movie was very slow, and was boring over all. Not dramatic enough, and the performances by Ruffalo and Phoenix were not all that great.

I Know Who Killed Me (2007)
Such a terrible movie. Ok, it contains Lilo, so who can expect anything much? But seriously, this is one bad film. Oh, expect a lot of blue randomly shown throughout the movie. I know, take a terrible plot, put skeletor in it, then show random blue shit all over and that might make it good. Hmm, didn't work.

The Duchess (2008)
Although the story is interesting, the move overall was pretty slow. Not really worth watching.

The Hangover (2009)
So very funny! I didn't know what to expect throughout it, but thought it was great. Not too over the top, but funny!! Mike Tyson was great!

Very good action. Liked the story and thought it was very fun. A good follow-up to the first one.

Wit (2001)
I continually love Emma Thompson for the quirky roles she chooses. I love that she tells us the story in first person, while in the moment. Very good tale showing how a hard-edged woman who is alone struggles through cancer to the end.

Evening (2007)
I really enjoyed this character study. Loved Toni Colette and Claire Daines. Liked the story behind it and how the memory of some key moments from time are prevalent in the last days before an old woman's death.
