Iron Man 2 had me out on the Avengers and Thor has broke me back. Just had a fun time
To live and Die in LA and Shane had a one night stand and nine months later a sick racers jacket with a Cobra on the back came out. The film is all style, and the story is pretty simple, but I still had a great time with it.
**MAN CRUSH SPOILERS**I know I say this all the time, but I don't care. Ryan Gosling is a pimp every time he is on screen. He keeps showing that he really is the best young actor working today and continues to make great choices. Crazy, Sexy Love is still my favorite performance of his this year, but this one is pretty damn cool for sure.***
Entertaining enough to keep my interest, but I was expecting her to be more of a badass, but she was kinda a scared kid who was good with a blade. That said it looks really good, and the tracking shot following Bana from the bus station was very impressive. I know Tim had some problems with them, but the bad guys for hire I thought were hilarious and really got a good laugh out of them and liked having them around
Sometimes it is great to wait to watch these films at home, cause I'm not expecting much and sometimes I can be surprised and really have some fun with them. Both this and Thor I was really surprised with this weekend. I love the whole look of the film. McAvoy and Fassbender were great. Fassbender really gave Magneto some balls, and made you believe that this guy could really tear some shit up. I love that it took place in the 60's, and that Sebastian Shaw and the Hellfire Club were causing havoc. Of course what better than Bacon to lead that crew.
I was really surprised how much I enjoyed a film about a guy dealing with Cancer. This all falls on the script and the great performances from Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen. Levitt shows again how talented he is. In this film he has you laughing one moment, and just as fast he has you turned and really feeling bad for him and what he is going through. SPOILER** during the sex scene I just felt so bad for him and just wanted to tap him out like a WWF match and help him out and give him a rest**
I have really lost a lot a faith in Seth Rogen lately and it was really great to see him get back to just being funny again and stop trying to be these like leading men type characters that he just isn't fit for.
