I have to be honest: Had it not been the good company, comfortable seat, beautiful sceneries, delicious-looking food, and occasionally smart dialogue, I would have walked out. It's the worst Julia Roberts movie I've seen in years. When I read the book, I didn't get that vibe but the movie made me think that Liz had a Cluster B personality disorder. Her emphasis on spirituality and finding oneself appeared laughable when placed on the silver screen.
But hey, it's Italy and Bali (I wouldn't mind skipping the India segment, although that was the only time we saw a man who didn't lust after Liz, thank god!)
For movies with similar themes, I prefer Under the Tuscan Sun. For movies about Italy, I prefer Letters to Juliet. For movies about food, nothing beats Julie and Julia. A good food-related movie I recently saw was "Wedding for Bella"
Overall, it was pretty to look at. Too bad.
Very cute and pleasant. I love that longest picture in the world!
Selena Gomez has a pretty face but the Beezus I know from Cleary's books isn't quite the same.
Geez, I was CRYING when Picky Picky died.
