One of the best Bollywood movies I have ever seen in my life. Brilliantly acted by Shahid Kapoor and Tabu, and a tight, edge of your seat plot.
falseLOVED IT! It was my favorite of the entire Oceans series. The star power is incredible, and it was funny, fun, and you were rooting for these ladies in crime the whole time. I thought Rihanna was a standout as a Jamaican hacker.
falseBeautiful and inspiring movie about a case that defined the end of the slave trade in England in the late 18th century. Incredible acting, especially from the gorgeous Gugu Mbatha-Raw and the legendary Tom Wilkinson.
Soumya R falseWow. I loved it. But let me predicate this by saying this is clearly based on a Russian novel. The closest comparison I would make is Match Point (one of my favorite films of all time) which is based on one of my favorite authors (Dostoevsky)...you get the idea. This is ice cold to the core. Florence Pugh did probably the best acting job I've ever seen. She somehow goes from being sympathetic in the first half to amoral at best, vile at worst, by the end of the film, without changing her expression. Dark, moody, simultaneously ugly (that cat, ugh) and beautiful scenery. Beautifully done. My only quibbles are that I wish the little boy they had in the movie wasn't so damn cute, given what happens to him, and that I think the racial plotline was a bit overdone, especially for a movie set in the 19th century (the only real victims in this movie definitely had a certain hue to them). If you love or even like another person, I wouldn't recommend this. But if you, like myself, love Russian novels and hating people, bon appetit :)
