This movie takes the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur, stretches it out over empires, adds in a ton of meaningless symbolism and style, all to create a gorgeous nearly two hour absolute gore-fest. Everyone chews the scenery too much, but at least there aren't a million throw-away lines. Entertaining!
I really love how this series has gone backward in time to fill in the blanks instead of the usual chronological order that most series use. There are just as many scares in this film as in the other two, and the material continues to be fresh despite the already known ending.
