Curt Smith's Movie Ratings - Rotten Tomatoes

Movie Ratings and Reviews

Alien: Covenant

3.5/5 Stars - Really enjoyed this movie, while it may not be near the perfection of the first two movies, to me its a welcome addition as one of better recent Alien movies.

Nocturnal Animals

Garbage movie. Waste of time and emotional energy. Nothing is wrapped up and nothing is said.

Don't Breathe

So well made! Go see it!

pure garbage. terrible writing, an embarrassment to the franchise.

The Visit
The Visit(2015)

Was it supposed to be a comedy?

Liked it, but didn't love it. I think I'll probably like the sequel more since the world is setup now. :)

Terminator Genisys

27% on rotten? I don't think it was that bad. Better than the last two Teriminator movies for sure.

Johnny 5 is rolling in his grave. I just watched Chappie? and wish I had my 2 hours back. Worst movie I've seen in years. The only thing Neill got right this time was the robot designs, otherwise hiring musicians as actors, writing your own terrible script.... ugh.

John Wick
John Wick(2014)

Great revenge action flick! I love seeing a really good movie with Keanu; its definitely been a while.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

One of the best X-Men movies!

Definitely a hard watch, but worth it to understand the ignorance and compliance people have that can lead them to be victims in society. You'll most likely leave the movie angry that this kind of thing can happen ,and still does happen; but with the power to make sure that blindly following authority will not happen on your watch.

The tension was there, but some of the scares fell pretty flat unfortunately. Good idea, just not executed the best.

seriously... how did this get rated so high by critics?

Oz the Great and Powerful

Porcelain Doll and the Monkey are cool, other than that the movie is pretty underwhelming.

The Master
The Master(2012)

At the end of the day, I wanted to love this movie but came away unsatisfied with the fact that the movie really had no place to go. The characters portrayed here are brilliantly acted, but with no real plot it felt like the writers didn't really know where they wanted the characters to go. Definitely work a look.

Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles

Happened upon this movie on Netflix and had a fun time watching it. :) Definitely recommend it.

The Grey
The Grey(2012)

this movie is serious business. be prepared, and grab a coat.

Really had fun watching this one - sequel please? :)

The Cabin in the Woods

Tongue-in-cheek horror goodiness that you'd expect from Joss Whedon. If you're a fan of movies like Drag Me To Hell, then definitely go see it! :)

The Whistleblower

Another really well made movie shedding light on the ill but more than important topic of human trafficking. Similar to the movie Taken in subject, however much more realistic as this is based on the true story involving the corruption of the UN during the Bosnia war. The more sickening reality is that a lot of the people who were involved in turning the other cheek during this corruption are still being used in contracts involved with Afghanistan. It's an ugly world out there, but knowing people like Bolkovac exist shows hope for the future in stopping future corruption scandals.

We Need to Talk About Kevin

Incredibly tense movie that will exhaust you with all of the emotions you have throughout watching. However I feel like they closed it up nicely with an ending that lets you think.

The Hurt Locker

such a great film, everyone should see!

Funny Games
Funny Games(2008)

Incredibly disturbing, but worth the watch. Just make sure you go in knowing you're in for some mental punishment.

why am I the only one who doesn't care to see this?

They Live
They Live(1988)

Love love love this movie :)

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Definitely in my top movies of all time.

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

Total ridiculousness and fun - Oh and young Uma Thurman was in it :)

THX 1138
THX 1138(1971)

In concept its very interesting, in execution its incredibly boring. I had a hard time staying awake for this one.

Defending Your Life

Loved this when I was younger, thanks to my dad for introducing me to the brilliance of Albert Brooks. Definitely a good watch.

The Devil and Daniel Webster

A Classic! A definite watch for movie lovers :)

Insanely over rated. Worth watching for its moments but overall a disappointment.

Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie

Unfortunately not what I was hoping for. There are definitely hilarious moments, but theres a lot of down time waiting for the next bit thats actually good. Overall they should have focused on making small skits (ala their show) instead of making a story based movie. Definitely a missed opportunity.

The Change-Up

Not bad, not great, just ok. :)

Iron Man 2
Iron Man 2(2010)

excellent movie! better than the first even.

Shutter Island

definitely worth seeing. good but not great movie.

this is a MUST SEE for any sci-fi nut! :)

one of the best miyazaki films to date!

Let the Right One In

Completely didn't expect anything from this an came away loving it.

Pineapple Express

I'm not even sure why I loved this movie so much, its just plain ridiculous and awesome.

Old School
Old School(2003)

way overrated. there are much better ferrell comedies out there.

Anchorman - The Legend Of Ron Burgundy

a classic comedy, and is definitely a repeat watcher!

Drag Me to Hell

Ridiculously awesome and funny movie! :)

Fantastic Planet

by far one of the weirdest movies i've ever seen in my life. part of me hates it, the other part of me loves it. but it is definitely a movie you have to see.

Around the Bend

around the.. what what what?! is that Walken!? A+++++++

The Prophecy 3: The Ascent

Jesus' Son
Jesus' Son(1999)

less jesus, more satan.

The Land Before Time IV: Journey Through the Mists

OH HELL YEAH! I can't wait for the Fifth in the series! OMGSZ!!

Little Miss Sunshine

Excellent movie! A must watch.

King Ralph
King Ralph(1991)

Why or why was this movie made? Oh yes, so John Goodman could live a decent life. The people who wrote this screenplay should be taken out and shot in the face.

Nothing but Trouble

I've seen this movie too many times to count, somehow I end up watching it til' the end even though it makes me feel like white trash after the thing is over.

The Haunting
The Haunting(1963)

One of the first movies to really make me scared. Sure I was maybe 10, but its a good psychological scare more than a "pop out" and startle me.

The Day the Earth Stood Still

The Sure Thing

Classic 80s movie. If you're a fan of Cusack its a must see.

It Happened One Night

One of the best movies ever, that stands the test of time to this day!

Lon: The Professional

A heartwarming tale of two personas thrown together in a most interesting of circumstances. Excellent executed, well direction and probably Natalie Portman's best movie.

Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
