it's like the writer was talking to a friend about the Bechdel Test and they laughed and laughed and laughed. I'm actually not at all sure how to rate this movie. It was awkward and felt terrible (not to be confused with "was" terrible) at times, and was ham-handed in others, but it still managed to speak to important truths about privilege, narcissism, and the male fantasy as it pertains to the trope of the manic pixie dream girl. It could've been a lot more, and that's always disappointing to conclude, but it made good effort whilst still catering to the needs of the Hollywood mainstream.
