A very fine lead is the stand out feature of this purposefully shocking piece of Art-gore that introduces a new genre: Mental Health Horror.
Intense political and social satire. Bleak comedic tragedy is unleased on a grand Guignol scale as atavistic horrors are given free reign. These horrors are inside us and that's what make it impossible to look away from this masterwork even if you want too.
Profoundly affecting. Beautiful and purposefully very troubling. A masterclass in (silent) pure filmmaking/directing.
Excellent work. Changelings, fairyland and folk horror. Horror is the most interesting genre in the American commercial cinema.
