When I first saw this movie I thought I had been slipped acid. If someone were to really watch this movie on acid, their mind would undoubtedly explode. i describe it do my friends and they don't believe it could exist. I get to the point were gary busey is a wrestler who owns a child prison they've heard enough.

I see this movie as a time capsule into an era history often overlooks, known to most as the mid nineties. sandwiched comfortably between the fear of the cold war and the harsh realities of the 21st century, the mid ninties were a simpler time, carefree and gay. Empire Records portrays the feel of that time like few movies can. It almost makes me want to put on a No Doubt album and search for re runs of Friends or even Caroline in the City on TV.

I've seen this movie so many times I've seen it mulitple times in Spanish. I no longer laugh, but rather stare at it and take it in, Like one would a Monet or Van Gough, appreciating it for it's encapsulating beauty.
