A movie worth to be watched.
Firstly to learn the story of Peppino Impastato, who embodies even nowadays the fight against mafia.
Secondly, to enjoy a truly well-directed movie, with a great photography, a perfectly planned script and majestic acting performances.
Luigi Lo Cascio, the main actor, provides probably his uttermost performance.
The magic is still there and the nostalgia moments are granted. There are few things that can put the viewer off but you easily forget about them while singing along with the characters!
Ok, the film is a mess. The script, the rhythm, the characters... they are all out of focus. But the story is really interesting and innovative and I was delighted by the final: I thought Depp's character was supposed to be the bad guy to take down, but in the end he was truly only trying to save all humans. I didn't expect that and thanks to this the movie deserves the 3 stars in my opinion.
"Logan" brings the comic-based movies to a new level at last. That was something urgently needed since audience is quite fed up to watch on screen shiny suits and unrealistic cgi battles. Time to move on and this is the direction!
Lucy is not a perfect movie but at least is something different from all the Hollywood blockbusters that US cinema keeps cranking out!
Luc Besson provides a fresher view to a sci-fi classic theme -the use of the hidden power of the human brain- and does so by coherently mixing up action scenes and phylosophical monologues.
Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman give a tremendous performance (as usual) plus she's fabulous (as usual)!
