Movie Ratings and Reviews

Drive Thru
Drive Thru(2007)

this is one naughty clown, crazy stupid but fun

Fly Me to the Moon

A little slow for me, but the daycare really loved it.

I liked it, so sue me! There were moments of "what were they thinking?" but overall it was what it was supposed to be-controversial stupidity.

The Andromeda Strain

Very long, kinda slow....was an old sci-fi though, and it was funny to see what they thought of as a secure facility.

I liked how the zombies started out in this one, and how the people treated or reacted to them. That added some humor, and David Carradine's part was interesting. Not the best zombie movie, but not the worst either.

Even as a single female parent, I could not relate to this story. I found Uma's character annoying, and felt no sympathy for her. I felt more like she was making herself crazy and whatever. Also, the timeline was so f'd long was the daughter in school for? I think this targets a small indie/yuppie motherhood section of the population, and I guess I really didn't get much out of it.

Vanishing On 7th Street

Creepy shadows, some intense moments.

The Substitute

For some reason I had thought this was a horror movie....turned out it wasn't, lol.

The A-Team
The A-Team(2010)

Loved everything about this movie!

Had potential, but it lacked alot of things and was overly slow.

Did not have the patience to sit through this one.

Vampires Suck

better than the real version

20 Years After

Had potential to be really good, but tried to be too much.

Repo Men
Repo Men(2010)

is this related to repo the genetic opera at all or is it just using the idea behind it?

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

I know it's early yet, but this will probably be in my top 10 movies watched for the year! It wuz kick ass!

The Last Airbender

My gal was "bending fire" for a week after we watched this. It was good for a family movie.

The Last Exorcism

there is no scary here. i still am unsure about this flick, was it just lame, or funny lame, can't decide! frankly, it was mostly just sad.

The Omega Man

Loved it for the cheese factor and classicness. Obviously, the new version is better, but this is classic goodness!

awfully cheesy even for a sci-fi movie

wowee zowee...i sure am glad i avoided the whole rpg scene. yikes! ;)

The Clique
The Clique(2008)

Glad i screened this before watching with my little diva, not really appropriatefor her age. Would be a good early teen movie, the PG only rating surprises me.

The Informant!

Netflix thought I'd only give this one 4 stars...see, they can be wrong sometimes!

Mystic Pizza
Mystic Pizza(1988)

Definetely a chick flick.

All of Me
All of Me(1984)

Great classic comedic fun! You know you're getting old when new comedy just is too much sometimes. And darnit, that would be me I guess!

Back to Gaya (Boo, Zino & the Snurks)

Alas, I did not watch this one, but Ella loved it!

Judgment Day
Judgment Day(1999)

Wasn't expecting superbness with this one, and it didn't fail me. Bad acting, cheesy plot, all for good laughs. Was great while multi-tasking.

The Book of Eli

Super fantastic, despite the religiousness.

Moscow Zero
Moscow Zero(2006)

Hard to get into.

Alice Upside Down

Ella of course loved it.

My Side of the Mountain

Very well done adaptation, we enjoyed it!

House Arrest
House Arrest(1996)

Classic family movie!

The Wendell Baker Story

Very silly, unrealistic fun.

Project: Valkyrie

One of the rare times I stopped a flick before watching it through to the end. Perhaps I just wasn?t in the mood for it at the time, but whatever, didn?t get passed 15 minutes.

I spose they Cared Less if we cared about this film. I didn?t like the lead character, he annoyed the crap out of me. There were some redeeming parts though. If you really like indie comedies, you?ll enjoy this one-for you I give it 3 stars. For me, most of it was just kind of lame.

Was ok. There?s better for cheesy 80?s sci-fi.

Clay Pigeons
Clay Pigeons(1998)

Fave Quote: Barney? Could you not poke the body with a stick, please?

City of Ember

Ella and I watched this one together, and we both enjoyed it! The giant mole was a nice touch. Thankfully it wasn?t a giant spider. Eeek!

More than just a comedy, this was a great film, loved it!

The Crazies
The Crazies(2010)

One of the best ?zombified? films I?ve seen, totally loved it. Did I watch it in the dark-NO, but I did watch it alone. This would have been an awesome film to watch with my little sis-who would have jumped a lot. Lots 'o creepiness, and a lot of action. Tough deciding what list to add this to??

The Expendables

Thoroughly enjoyed everything about this flick! Way to go Stallone! It rocked, and I?m thrilled I got to see it in the theater!

Terror Inside

Good, bad, cheesy, what I expected. Just not sure if it qualifies for super bad good horror or just super bad horror.

Classic comedy fun!

The Ten
The Ten(2007)

I think the whole point of this movie was to make a stupid movie, in which they have succeeded, so 4/5 stars it is.

Dolan's Cadillac

Sure it?s cheesy drama with some horror mixed in. But it?s got Christian Slater starring in a Stephen King flick, what?s not to love?

Julie & Julia

Silly girly movie, if you like that kinda thing, you?ll like this one.

The Lovely Bones

This is a beautifully done depressing movie. The kind of movie I should avoid.

Black Snake Moan

Definetly one of the stranger flix I?ve seen.

Cheesy 80?s sci-fi

Loved Woody's part in this. Overall, kinda slow but sweet in a sad kinda way.

Murphy's Romance

Outdated, but I've always liked Sally Field and James Garner. Cute movie.

Days of Darkness

an interesting take on how zombies could be created

Beowulf & Grendel

Of all the Beowulf flicks, I think this one is my favorite!

Moonlight by the Sea

If this had been made before 1969, it would have held more appeal. As it is, they were too concerned with the artsy part of this film and should have concentrated more on a plot or storyline.

White Chicks
White Chicks(2004)

saw this @ the drive-in, was the 2nd film of the night & i didn't really want to see it, but wanted to see the 3rd film. turns out, i loved this movie, it was hilarious!

New In Town
New In Town(2009)

being a minnesotan, this flick is just perfectly minnesotan. when will they make a movie that makes fun of iweegans though? you betcha i'd see that, lol.

Had it's really fun moments, so I have to 5 star this one and add it to Fun To Watch w/Jumpers Movie List.

Cry Freedom
Cry Freedom(1987)

added to Cry-Baby Movie List...I was fine until the end, ugh.

Solar Attack
Solar Attack(2005)

Obviously cheesy. I have to give it credit for having one of the goofiest and so unrealistic "save the day" solutions though.

My Sister's Keeper

dude, why'd i watch this?!?!

just watched this again-picked it up at Hollywood Video (our store is closing!) to add to my collection.

it's a great flick, and the story is good, but it's really SLOW. Or the actors are slow, or maybe it's just me. I still love it, but it would be nice speeded up a bit.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

If only it hadn't been so slow and long....

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

Refreshingly great family comedy!

My Bloody Valentine 3-D

I didn't get to see it in 3-D, bet that would have been great to see in the theater!

Another great Pixar movie!

Trailer Park of Terror

cheesy and all that fun stuff

Masters of the Universe

Sometimes a little cheesey sci-fi is all a girl needs.

The Day the Earth Stood Still

New twist on a classic flick. Not a new theory, and one I have contemplated before, so it's neat to see it on screen. Pretty awesome effects too, those metallic bugs dissolving man made things was kinda cool in a creepy f'd up way.

Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead

Never mess with a truck driver, Rusty Nails might be behind the wheel.

Dead Like Me: Life After Death

i was happy to have run across this. one of my fav shows that of course got the ax.

Really wanted to like this, was excited to see it. Some parts were cool, but they threw in way too much BLAH for one movie. They could have broke this down to 2 movies and it wouldn't have been so exhausting.

The Enemy
The Enemy(2001)

cheesy action/drama, sometimes that can be good

An American Carol

Started watching, got interupted, and decided it wasn't really worth finishing.

My Name Is Bruce

It's Bruce, being Bruce. Hail to the king, baby!

Repo! The Genetic Opera

every once in awhile, the only response i have after watching a flick is WOW, this is one of those times. this flick is so different from anything, yet has elements that i enjoyed from other greats. you have to see it to believe it in this case.

Lakeview Terrace

thankfully my neighboors aren't quite so crazy ;)

mum and i got perhaps 10 minutes into this and then shut it off. predictable and too much bad cheese for me to even try finishing

Earth Girls Are Easy

talk about stepping back in time

minisiries, tv series, and final battle movie

Burn After Reading

If it wasn?t for the stupid role played by Brad Pitt, this would have been on my What was I thinking? Movie list.

Mamma Mia!
Mamma Mia!(2008)

Just plain silly fun.

Superhero Movie

Predictable, yeah, but it was fun.

The X-Files: I Want to Believe (The X Files 2)

Definitely felt old school X-Files, loved seeing them on the big screen once again! Now I really need to watch the last few seasons.

I?m glad this wasn?t like Falling Down, which I thought it really sounded like. It wasn?t anything like I expected, and I?m not sure I?d really classify this as a comedy. Hm?.oh well.

Marley & Me
Marley & Me(2008)

Apparently everyone else new this movie had a sad ending, but not me. I cried like a freakin baby. I shouldn?t have gone to see this, nope nope nope!

Tropic Thunder

Ben Stiller drinking blood from a decapitated head, Tom Cruise - wow, i didn't even realize that was him until halfway through the movie! I had to watch this one twice, i wasn't paying attention the first time (me multi-tasking once again). This has to be my favorite movie of the year, and probably my favorite parody movie of all time.

Fav Quote:
Tugg Speedman: I killed one, Rick... the thing I love most in the world.
Rick Peck: A hooker. Oh Jesus, you killed a hooker!

One of my favorite comedies.
5 outta 5, a great spoof of soap operas
*Added to List-Ow that hurts comedy! & Movies I Own*

Steal This Movie

Another reason to mistrust the government. This is about Abbie Hoffman, the founder of the Yippee movement. They could have gone deeper into the characters and story, but it would have been an extremely long movie.
5 outta 5, informative and entertaining
*Added to List-Conspiracy Fix & Movies I Own*

The Heartbreak Kid

Best character-Eddie?s dad (Jerry Stiller). This was a nice way to start my day, with some much needed stupid comedy.
5 outta 5, stupid funny
Fav Quote: Okay, cat's out of the bag. My son found your panties on the sidewalk and we've been talking about you all week. Eddie, give her back her undies. ~Doc

Serial Killing 101

cheese factor is extremely high in this one! very funny so it gets 4 outta 5

Natural Born Killers

"Mickey and Mallory are the best thing to happen to mass murder since Manson."

True Romance
True Romance(1993)

"If there's one thing this last week has taught me, it's better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it."

Very funny. And the hampster was soo cute!

Immortal Beloved

f'n a, makes me cry every time i watch it. i should know better.

1984 for the 21st Century

In the Mouth of Madness

cheese factor was pretty high!

saw it at the drive in, which probably helped influence the 5stars, i might have only rated it a 4 otherwise.

Reign Over Me

Another surprise?.
5 outta 5,

Be Kind Rewind

I wasn?t sure going into this movie, but it was surprisingly funny and touching.
5 outta 5

Cheesy-yeah! But a classic fantasy adventure!
5 outta 5

The Source: The Story of the Beats and the Beat Generation

As someone who could be considered a descendent of the Beat Generation, (in attitude and spirit) this was a very informative and interesting movie. I learned so much more about the movement and the evolution of it.
5 outta 5, inspiring

The Italian Job

Awesomely action packed revenge! Had to watch it again since I picked it up from a swap site.
5 outta 5, Kick *ss fun

A Mighty Heart

An excellent movie for what it was.
5 outta 5, it was what it was, not my favorite type of film, but I can?t say anything bad about it.

Lost Boys: The Tribe

I had been looking forward to this movie for years and years. I can?t say I was disappointed, but holy crap has times changed since the original. Lot?s of nudity and cheesy gore. I absolutely loved it! And perhaps that was the point-for us old school fans. I sure wouldn?t recommend it for a teenage audience and I?m pretty sure my mum wouldn?t have let me seen the original when it first came out if it was anything like this one. The only downside was Angus Sutherland-he was a rather annoying head vampire-he talks funny and that annoyed me, definitely not as cool as Kiefer. Also-check out the special features!
5 outta 5, fricken luved it
*Added to List-Blood Suckin Mayhem*
Fav Quote: I'm Edgar Frog, surfboard shaper and vampire hunter.

I thought I was bad, and addicted to films, but nope-not even close! These guys wouldn?t even call me a film lover-cus most of them don?t even like VHS (at home viewing).
2 outta 5

Con Man
Con Man(2002)

Very silly movie, kinda lame, but Johnny is such a pretty boy he was fun to look at, lol. See a trend here? I especially like the whole ?meditation? thing they had going on. They are so Above and floating, lol.
3 outta 5

Val was in perhaps 6 mins total of this flick, and that?s about the only part I really cared for.
2 outta 5, Val was cool, otherwise it just wasn?t worth it.

Bam Bam and Celeste

Fun movie for what it was.
3 outta 5

Sex and Death 101

This wasn?t anything like I expected for some reason. It wasn?t dark or scary or anything of the sort. Sure, there was a lot of sex, but really, not much death. Think romantic comedy meets sex and death. I think they came up with the title before they came up with a script for this. Sure, it was funny. But that ending, I?m not sure if I?m ok with that ending?..
3 outta 5, titles cool and I liked Winona Ryder but they could have done better with this story and the last 15 minutes were just lame.

Perfect Creature

A different kind of vampire movie. Not as different as Rise: Blood Hunter, but different. I guess the main thing that really annoyed me about this movie was the setting-it looked like a cross between the 1800?s and mid 1900?s (it?s based in an alternate reality-which I realized after watching the movie from reading the description). I think it would have been better if they had done a futuristic or more modern setting (because of the whole vampires were created by messing w/genetics). The conspiracy factor was there-Big Brother being a Vampire society, they could have played more on that too. I don?t know, you watch it and see how you feel.
4 outta 5, lacking something but still had neat vampire effects

The Ruins
The Ruins(2008)

This movie was fricken hilarious! It wasn?t cheesy in that the acting/graphics were bad funny, but the storyline was funny-so I?d totally put this in the B-Movie category. The dark haired girl annoyed me, and I think that?s about the only thing I really disliked about it. Otherwise-the amputation scene was wicked great fun, and I laughed a lot throughout the entire thing. Does that make me weird because this was supposed to be a horror flick? Dude, I don?t care. If you were scared by this movie you aren?t watching the right kind-a horror!
4 outta 5, for lotso laughs
Fav Quote: Ok, ok fine. Let?s fuckin vote. Ya know, raise your hands if you wanna cut off his legs.

Cute movie, full of fun colors, and very storybookish. I loved the way Edwards face would express what he was actually feeling when saying something like-will you marry me, and I Do. That was very funny, for some reason. In the end, I think there was probably more depth they could have gone into with the story, but the scenes were lovely and my gal didn?t get bored watching it. She also asked questions throughout which opened up discussions on morals and that kind a thing. So overall it was a very lovely movie.
5 outta 5

There is truth, and there is untruth. To be in a minority of one doesn't make you mad.

Zero Effect
Zero Effect(1997)

I told you. We can't be too careful. Two guys in an airport... talking? It's a little fishy.

Kung Pow! Enter the Fist

Dude, nothing beats the Chosen One! "weeeooo weeeoooo weweweweoooo" Can't wait for Tongue of Fury!

Vantage Point

Great action conspiracy flick.
5 outta 5
*Added to List-Conspiracy Fix!*

I?m really not sure what to think about this movie.
3 outta 5
*Added to List-Um...?*

Raiders of the Lost Ark

Classic adventure tale and still one of my faves!

10,000 B.C.
10,000 B.C.(2008)

Great cinematography, beautiful scenes, but like one of my friends said-kinda slow. They could have moved the action alittle faster. I was thinking the big cat would be in the movie more and was disappointed when it didn?t show up again. I also had a hard time getting into the ?feel? of the movie and characters, I think I was overanalyzing-which usually isn?t good. Basically, what it all comes down to is I think they put too much effort into the graphics and not enough on plot.
4 outta 5, great graphics, kinda dull characters and plot. For period films-not nearly as bad as The New World but not as good as Apocolypto or Pathfinder.

Series 7: The Contenders

Wow, now this was a crazy movie. It actually looked like real tv, and that?s basically what the show was. Five people get picked by lottery and try to kill each other and end up the last one alive. If I had run across this on cable, I probably would have had to look into it to make sure this was a movie and not a tv show, lol.
5 outta 5, Another look at what is coming?

The Signal
The Signal(2008)

Death by air pump, gotta love it! I thought this was a Cell (by S.K.) rip off, but it wasn?t anything like what I expected. Very funny and very bloody. Different.
5 outta 5, for being oddly fun
Fav Quote: ?I?ve got this, you just finish jumpstarting your head.?

Trust the Man

I heart David Duchovny, he?s so shweet, lol. This was a silly romantic comedy, and I probably wouldn?t have watched it, let alone added it to my movies I own if he wasn?t in it. I can definitely see a resemblance between this movie and his newest tv show. What is it with him and porn?
5 outta 5, surprisingly good, for one of those girly movies.

The Transformers - The Movie

Cheesy cartoon, but brings back memories.
5 outta 5, classic

The Lookout
The Lookout(2007)

Interesting story, well acted.
5 outta 5, something different

This movie was all done in black and white ink, pretty cool. Conspiracy with a good twist.

Another great Pixar flick! Very emotional movie-happiness, sadness, surprise-I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster. I absolutely loved it and so did Ella!
5 outta 5, I definitely recommend you see this one on the big screen.

Get Smart
Get Smart(2008)

I enjoyed this film greatly, very funny. My mum watched the original show and she really enjoyed the film. Now I?m impatiently waiting for the August release date on the original series DVD.
5 outta 5 stars, for good old fashioned fun

The Last Unicorn

Kinda hokey, but my gal really liked it so I spose it is still a really great movie for the little ones.
5 outta 5 stars

The Bucket List

The ultimate Road Trip, traveling the world to see and do the things they most want to do before they die. This movie made me laugh and cry and in the end say Hell Yeah For Them!
5 outta 5 stars, for a great ride the whole way through

No Country for Old Men

Dude, I don?t even know what this movie was about. Granted, I was multitasking once again, but usually I can tell you what a movie is about, nope, not this one?.
1 outta 5 stars, for what the f

Mad Money
Mad Money(2008)

This was a cute movie. I should have written this right away, but I waited, so that?s all I?ve got.
5 outta 5, girls beatin the system

I felt there was a lack of something in this movie, there could have been more to it. Although I did enjoy it and the idea of Jumpers is pretty cool. Graphics were awesome, lots of action.
5 outta 5, missing something but excellent otherwise

Meet the Spartans

Hercules and dance offs, slamming on Britney, those were funny. But what earned this movie an extra star was the video game scene, I?m a sucker for a good video game scene. Otherwise, this was one spoof movie too many.
4 outta 5 stars: Not the worst, but not the best.

The Eye
The Eye(2008)

Reminded me a lot of a few different things-Final Destination and for sure some Dead Like Me, but it was not what I was expecting-and that?s a good thing, cuz I hadn?t really expected something this good. Did it make me jump? No, but then again I was warned to not watch it alone, lol.
5 outta 5 stars~didn?t disappoint me like The Ring and others like it.

I really really enjoyed this flick. It had great characters, great suspense, a creepy serial killer, and was very emotional.
5 outta 5 stars~Great suspense thriller

Catch and Release

A very girly gushy love story movie. Silent Bob is in it, so of course I had to see it, yup-that?s my excuse and I?m sticking to it ;).
4 outta 5 stars~It?s a girly comedy love story movie, if you like that kinda thing-you?ll love it.

The Incredible Hulk

I really enjoyed this one, perhaps because Ed Norton was in it, perhaps not. They did a great job with it as far as I?m concerned and I can?t wait to see Iron Man now because of the ending. Wish I woulda made it to the theatre for that one, oh well.
5 outta 5 stars

The Running Man

Still one of my all time favs!

The Hills Have Eyes 2

It was ok, nothing great though. 4 out of 5 stars

Are We Done Yet?

Not really sure about this one. It was rather slow and didn't seem as funny to me as the first one. Perhaps they were trying too hard? 4 outta 5 starts-cuz i'm just not sure, but my gal did sit through the whole thing with me.

Fast paced conspiracy flick. 5 outta 5 stars cuz it was interesting, and had lots of shoot 'em up action.

The Messengers

This wasn't the greatest scary movie ever told, nor was it the first time this story has been done. Family moves to the middle of nowhere, house is haunted, someone dies. Pretty basic. Perhaps they wanted to retell this because of the newest special effects-dead people who look the same as the dead kid from The Grudge, who knows. I actually watched this during a huge storm after my town lost power (on my laptop), it was only 5:00ish so it wasn't completely dark but with the cloud cover and rain I still lit a few candles. Even in these conditions, I wasn't scared, nor did I jump once. 3 out of 5 stars: Not poorly made, but not original or scary.

The Mist
The Mist(2007)

Creepy fog, giant monsters, a killer ending. What more can a girl ask for?

Killer Wave
Killer Wave(2006)

Rather cheesy, but overall a good conspiracy story.

Music and Lyrics

I absolutly loved the cheesy 80's vibe going on with the character Alex. This movie had high marks from me from the moment the opening music video started-it was So cheesy, So goofy, and SO 80's!

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Classic Jones, don't care what anyone else thinks, I FRICKEN LOVED IT!

Blood and Chocolate

Very wonderful movie! I really liked the artsy way they transformed into wolves. If you want only horror/gore, you will not get much of that in this movie.

Great family flick

Evan Almighty

Great family film.

Man About Town

throughout this movie I never really understand why the wife wants to stay with this guy. What's so great about him, then again-there really isn't much depth to either character? This is the kind of movie you can have playing in the background and still be able to follow what's going on.
3 out of 5 stars, not bad acting or story really-it just was a really boring movie to me.

We Own the Night

the ending was the only cheesy part of this movie. Otherwise great acting, and a good story.
5 out of 5 for a great crime drama.

Jimmy and Judy

think twisted teens, modern day Bonnie and Clyde. Left me with a That was F'd! up feeling. Bonnie & Clyde were romantic, Mickey & Mallory (Natural Born Killers) were justified romantic psychos, Jimmy and Judy were just another product of the Me 90's.
4 out of 5 stars for believable acting-it wasn't cheesy, just lame. I did like the cultish clan towards the end though.

El Cortez
El Cortez(2006)

Another cheap drama/action/thriller. Neither really bad nor really good.
3 out of 5 stars because I like Lou Diamond Phillips, in spite of the fact he does more and more of these low budget movies.

Cheesy action flick with some Global Warming issues that don't really get dug into. This flick is pretty much a cover story, it doesn't dig deeply into any of the characters or ideas brought up. Pretty much just Bruce meets girl while being a Tornado chaser, girl wants/has to shut down their little operation, Bruce gets girl kinda story.

4 out of 5 stars~ Exactly what I expected when I rented it! This might prove that I'm a little biased and or hypocritical considering I gave the other cheap action movie a lower score, but hey-this is Bruce Campbell we're talking about! Honestly, what do you expect?!?

With a title like Frantic, I was expecting excitement. This was a very slow movie.

The Spiderwick Chronicles

I wish I wouldn't have read the books before this came out-it would have been more enjoyable. Otherwise it was cool.

28 Weeks Later...

The 1st one rocked, this one was not quite so good.

Marie Antoinette

Good for background noise, but wasn't very interesting.

The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters

F'n Kicked *ss! Made me wanna fire up the old NES and do some old school gaming. I'm still trying to figure out if they purposefully made Billy a jack *ss or if he really is that lame.
