It Has The Typical Comparison Against Some Tarintino'esk Methods Of Film-Making, That Being Blunted & Unsubtle, Unstable Violence, A Classic Off-Kilter Soundtrack Matching The Equally Oddball Cast Of Characters, A Chopped Up & Out-Of-Order / Different Perspectives Storyline, A Few Red-Herring Villians & Of Course Some Solid One-Off, Dialogue Infused Selillique Performaces, Pouring Out Creepy Character Dynamics. It's Pretty Much A Different Flavour Of That Tarintino 'Pulp-Fiction' Ice-Cream, But Boy Does It Taste Pretty Damn Good. Won't Let You Down As Long As You're In The Right Frame Of Mind. I Can See How Though Some Viewers, Just Like With Other Similar Genred Gore-Infused Classic-Gangsta Films, Will Find This Tired & Something They Will Struggle Yo Stick With.
Liked The Focus On The Female Point Of View, Being Married To Men Taking On Adventure At It's Most Extreme Level. How All Individual Astronauts Manage This Stress Was Also Explored, But Not As Well Done. The Visual's & Music Alongside It Is Masterfully Crafted. Some Parts Required More Dialogue To Tied Scenes Together..Which Could Have Thredded The Overall Story A Little Better, But It Stands Up As Very Good In-Spite Of Any Editing Nuances, Which Could Have Paced Things Along. Thankfully, It Doesnt Get All Too Boring.
All A Bit Too Random Really, With A Story (By Simpsons Producer J.L. Brooks) That Dances Around "Lisa" (Witherspoon) As She Explores Peoples Lives She Is Randomly Dragged Into. The Film Flops Tho Because The Script Just Doesn't Get Any Rhythm Going. Kinda Like An Orchestra With No Harmony, The Well-Known Actors Generally Play Their Parts Well, But Bringing It All Together Just Doesn't Seem To Gell.
Poverty Rising Out Of The Ashes Of Past Victimhood & Gangsta / Criminal Inevitability. The True-To-Life Story Adds Weight To Some Key Performances By Jackson & Dowse. Rap-Singer Ashanti Wasn't Too Bad In Her Role Either. There Was However A Key Part Of The Story, That Is Quickly Beushed Over; That Being The Mess Of The American Education System, Pressured To Do Better For The Kids In School Attendence, With Little More Than Teachers Willing To Help Their Students (More Than Usual) Outside Of School Hours (Which I Figure They Don't Get Paid For) To Help Them Do Better. Instead The Credit Is All Thrown Coach Carters Way, Focusing On A Basketball Game. While This Is Entertaining, I Think It Misses Credit (To Other Teachers) Where It's Due.
The Limit Has Been Reached, Pushed & Given The Next Level Treatment. Like Man Walking On The Moon, Man Taking Flight, This Is An Absolutely Epic Achievement.
Kicks In With A Random Guitar Solo On An Echo-Flange Effect Everytime Some Doosh Us About To Get Nailed/Eaten. It Is Laughable. The Low-Budget Simply Adds To The Comic-Value As Does The Bad Acting. If It Was A Porn-Movie In Amoungst It All, People Would Be Going..Ohhhh, Now I Get It...Otherwise, It's Just A Really, REALLY Bad Film..That Prob Should Have Never Been Made. I'm Surprised The Police Didn't Shut It Down As They Shot At Each Other In Random Suburban Streets Of America.
Genuine Heartfelt Story Threads It Way Through Central Australia. Love Watching A Film Such As This When I'm A Little Far From Home Cos It Has A Story About Dragging You Back To Yourself, Finding What's Most Important & Just Being Home.
I Guess As Far As A 'Glorified' Look At A Debacle Of A Military Exercise, To Capture A Small Piece Of Rock In The Pacific, Mostly To Prove A Point, That The USA Has Gumpton & Might; It Acheives 'Hero Status' On What Might Otherwise Be Reflected Upon By Others As A Tradegy, A Great-Loss & Nothing To Really Celebrate. It Is However An Important Event In The American Narrative Of 'Freedom', So This Reflection, Some Might Call Post-War Properganda, Is What It Is. I Know The Clint Eastwood Films On The Same Topic, One Told From The United States Side, The Other Film From The Japanese Side, Are A Better Rendition-Reflection Of How Difficult It All Was. The Interesting Part Of This Version Was The Mix Of Real Footage From The Battle.
It's A Story Of Redemption With The Courage Of A Family To Rebuild After Absolute Tradegy. From This Perspective, I Really Liked & Even Enjoyed Watching & Learning How Others In the World Can Fight To Overcome Such Incredibly Dire Odds. The Heaven / Religous Angle Bit..Well, The Story Doesn't Really Focus All Too Much On That, And As Such, Doesn't Get Too Preachy, Leaving You To Question All That Part Yourself, Which Is Fine With Me.
It Was Like Watching An Eighties Styles Action-Hero Shoot-Em-Up With A Futuristic Twist. The Ending Was A Bit Semi-Predictable With Little Else Going For It Except The Hot Chick (Adrianne Palicki) In The Tight White Top.
It's Bang On The Middle Ground Of A Horror-Suspence Genre. In Short, There Is Enough Going On To Keep The Punters Guessing How The Twists Will Develop The Overall Tone, Which Generally Is Scarey, Particurly The Haunting Look Of Real Locations In England. It Does Not However Go Anywhere Too Surprising & In Respect To Modern CGi Effects There Is Very Little Used, Some People Will Love This As It Harks Back To Classic English Ghost Stories.
No Really, If You Sit Back, Relax & Just go With It..It Ain't Too Bad. The Combination Of JCVD & A Fast-Paced Story, A Schooled Director At The Helm, & It's Pretty Damn Good. Rob Schinder Happens Around For A Bit Of Comic Relief. If There Was A Bit More Of His Antics, It'd Rock Out Even More. The Action Sequences Are Swish, Smooth & Hard To Faulter..Soundtrack Ain't Winning It That Much, Neither Are The Cheap Special Effects..But As I Said, It's Not The Worse Action-Mixed-Martial-Arts Film, It's Enjoyable If You Given It A Chance.
Without The Colours, Music & Clever Go-Pro'esk Camera Angles There Would Be Bordem A-Plenty..When It Does Let-Up, It Begins To Stall. While It's Not A Nose-Dive, There Can Be Some 'Ok, Where Are We Going Here??' As Many Know This Infam9us Suess Story..So Veering Too Far Off Point Will Be Punished. So Bexause There Is Little Going Off-Track, I Enjoy It For What It Is.
When Stacked Up Against Tge Predecesors Of LEGO Batman & The LEGO Movie, It Doesn't Quite Get There..But There Is A Very Good Story, The Themes Will Ring True For Many Older Individuals. The Kids (Young Boys) Will Love The Fighting & Action. There Is Some Clever Subtexts References You Come To Expect From These 'Wink-Wink' At The Camera Kinda Films.
The Updated Version Is More Entertaining, Less Focused On Script & Acting (As The Original Low Budget Had To Focus On) & This Is More About Action Sequences With The Story Updated For Police Corruption In The Modern Day. The Only Pitfall Is It Will Be Compared To The Original Where The Acting & Genuine Fear In The Performances Is Well-Played..In This Film Many Of Them Seemed To Be Just There..With No Intent On Any Grand Performance. It Still Outshines The Original Due To Effects & The Budget To Blow Stuff Up.
An Over-Rated Thought Piece Developed By A Melbourne Based Journalist Looking For Insight That Really..Doesn't Pop Up Anywhere. The Idea Has Been Done Before, There Is Little To None Of New Gtound Broken. She Basically Travels Around Like A Go-Pro Weilding Tourist Invading Candid-Intimate Moments With Some Hodge-Podge Collection Of Questions & Just Shows A Vast Discrepancy Between Rich & Poor, School Educated & Niaeve Stupidity. It Is Okay To Watch But I Found I Got Little To Nothing Out Of It.
How Tiring The Sound Of Endless Machine-Gun Fire Does Get... -Sigh- Added To This Is The Hero One-Up-Manship Lines Of Dialogue That Crap On About Galliantly Saving Each Other, Saving The World, Saving Thus Franchise From Itself?? No..This Is A Lost Cause. The Action Sequences Are It's Kinda Only Redeeming Feature..But Even That Steals Much Of It's Content From A Ridley Scott Alien Film.. Which I Recommend You Watch To See Wgat Real Action-Thrillers Are All About.
Not Too Rubbish At All. Why Does It Get Canned?? Very Well-Shot, Equally Suited Soundtrack With Some Very Solid Acting. I Think In Being Compared To Other Police-Corruption Films Exploring The Pressures Of The Job, Sight Is Lost On This Being A Good Stand-Alone Edition To That Kind Of Genre. So In Light Of That, I Found It Insightful & Quite Well Done.
I Thought The Mix Of Film Story Into Actual News Footage, Music Videos & Reinactments Of Infamous Moments Affecting aTupac Shakur's Life Was Really Good. The Attempts Of Tupac To Make A Mark Outside Of The Norm Flowing From His Mother's Influence Are Constant In The Storyline, But The Anecdotes Are Not Pieced Together Well. The Focus Thus Shifts Haphazardly, But In Terms Of A Biopic, It Does Well To Raise Interest For People (Like Myself) Are Not Hardcore Fans Of The 'Gangsta Rap' Scene.
It Is Not A Thorough Piece Of Murder Mystery. The Killer / Villian Is Clear To The Police, Not Hidden In Plain Sight. There Is No Missing Pieces Of Info For A Viewer Or Cast Member To Work Out, Other Than A Bunch Of Eggs That Is Smashed (Randomly) On The Floor, And Somehow This Becomes A Convoluted Concoction Of A Motive, Related To The Lead Characters. It Is Pretty Stupid With Little Semblance To Any Situation Of Some Reality..The Film Just Fails To Gather Itself To Anything More Interesting Other Than A Weak Good Guy Catches Bad Guy Thing. A Pretty Dismal Showing Overall.
