A movie with great potential that sadly does not live up to it, or rather choose a more narrow path of horror that is not as appreciated by the greater mass. It has one of the more interesting settings, but lack story background and character development, which makes it a bit hollow and although it add to the sinestry of the Vampires, it does not invite you into the horrors of the main characters.
The Vampires are the most sinister and feline I have ever seen and I must say they really worked, even if I did not really like the main vampire for some reason. Its also one of the most realistic, if such a word can be used when describing mythological beast, behaviour of a unhuman creature such as a Vampire.
The main characters are bleak and I find it hard to get involved in their sufferings, mostly because of poor character backgrounds rather than poor acting. The story is...well, thin to say the least. Vampires come from nowhere and kill people for 30 days and then vanish again in thin air and in between we have people that are trying to hide and stay alive, but are doing to in ways I must say are very silly and unrealistic. The time jumps reduce the momentum of the movie, which in all honestly is nothing more than savage feedings from the vampires and a lot of seaking around.
This is not an action movie or a scary movie, its a suspense drama with blips of gory violence and as such its a film that you either love or hate. Its a shame, because it had great potential to be so much more.
