Great film! Just exquisite and heartwarming and beautiful. I was with Jack every step of the way. Best movie I've seen about bullying, most true to life.
A fascinating and tense story that heads in unexpected directions. Excellent acting, taut direction, and a reveal at the very end you could not guess if you tried.
Sublime! An impeccably filmed and acted, utterly engrossing family drama. Set in the 50s, when choices for women were far more limited, the story feels even more poignant than it would have in the present. Not a false moment or gesture. As I said, sublime!
This is an incredibly frustrating movie that starts out pretty strong and goes into a tripped-out universe at the centre of the film, the animated Congress, of the title. But it stays too long there and by the time we get out and see the bleak Dystopia that's left of the world, we're past caring. Ambitious & but overly-realized. Still, glad I saw it, as it's wholly original and quite a head trip.
Sweet existential fable, with a predictably unpredictable outcome. Great first two acts but the third crumbles a bit under the weight of all that pseudo-science. Still, utterly charming and original.
