I was happy when I found this since I liked the first 2 movies. I was thinking to myself why I had never heard about this one. It all became clear to me as the movie progressed. This is simply a piece of crap compared to the other 2. Still it had some moments so I can't rate it the lowest. Wouldn't advise seeing this.
A classic which I hadn't seen. I will have to say this is worth giving a shot. Of course I couldn't help to feel that I had seen this before only in a better version. It's set in 2019 in Los Angeles which with the truth in hand probably isn't all that different from now. Although one thing in this movie is very realistic in my mind at least. Maybe not in 2019 but maybe in a hundred years or so... I to believe Chineese or Japaneese will be the spoken language. You can see thoughout the movie a ship flying around with a foreign commercial all the time. Sadly it was late at night when I saw this so the volume was almost zero, so I couldn't make out what language was spoken. Anyways! I also appreciated the realistic hero who, if the movie had been filmed today, would have been just awesome and made it through this as easy as taking a nap while tired. Unlike todays movies the hero struggles with the bad guys because they are clearly superior to himself. It's easier to identify yourself with the charachters that way, at least that's my thoughts.
One of the best movies I have seen, and as I believe an allround movie that almost everyone will like. You simply have to see this.
Before I start I would like to say that this movie is no masterpiece and if you want some movies on the same theme watch Blade, Dawn of the Dead, 28 days later or something else. The thing is I am not very picky.
I will not say this movie is great, but I found it very amusing. Of course the reason I watched it was because Seagal is in it, and for a long time it looked like "just crap". But there was one thing that changed the whole movie for me. And before I tell you this I would like to say:
The story is about a virus being released and ppl start going crazy for blood and stuff. So far, no suprises. People are suprisingly stupid, decides to "sleep a little" in the hallway in plain sight and stuff. Now, the whole movie I thought they were running from ordinary zombies, and they probably were. But along comes the suprise! Girl gets chased down the hallway by a zombie and succedes in closing the door right before he grabs her. And he starts talking with her. "What's the point in running away? We are getting stronger, smarter." with reservation to my own memory, this was a great twist for me. I would even watch the sequel if they decide that a stronger more refined breed like vampires then emerges from the "crazed flesh eaters". I don't know if this was in any way inteded and maybe I think to much. But I am willing to give this movie at least a 3.5 Stars because I like zombies and vampires and this made me work out a suprisingly long review :) *thumb*
