Movie Ratings and Reviews

Doctor Strange
½

Great movie. I am not going often to the cinema anymore but this was definitely enjoyable on the big screen in 3D.

Captain America: The First Avenger

are marvel films for comic fans, anyone or just kids? if will smith does play cap america then it will be good, if leonardo di caprio plays i am guessing it will be sort of old school. how mch of it will be in WWII or will it all be after defrosting? Joe Johnston is directing

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

The Hobbit is the top mark of high fantasy movies, we don't get enough of them as it is, and when one comes out that follows the book and more, and is shot so beautifully the only thing I worry is that when people complain. You won't see another high fantasy movie like this in the next 50 years !

Paranormal Activity 4

The very worst movie I have seen for a long time. I remember at the end of the movie and turning around to a stranger saying "Well that was **** wasn't it?"

Looper
Looper(2012)
½

I really liked the special effects sequences and how they moulded together with the story. The movie has enough going for it, but might be a bit complicated for some audiences.

Buried
Buried(2010)

Buried was a good story and focuses your perception on the world passing by rather than the world inhabited by the character, played by Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool in X-men Origins:Wolverine). I can compare it to a book in the way it felt, with very little room to move your eyes, but enough scriptand music to keep imagining the scene outside the coffin. Overall, its just fun with some humerous and tragic twists.

Cemetery Junction
½

Captures only a part of the 70s in England, but captures it well, unfortunately it aims it at a large audience so probably has bad reviews. I cant believe the soundtrack, cus I hate most those songs, but together they worked well for an OST.

Valkyrie
Valkyrie(2008)
½

Tom Cruise wanting to do a Schiendlers List emotional movie, or a pretty good World War II movie. I cant decide. Watch it and tell me what you think.

The A-Team
The A-Team(2010)

Pretty fun. Not nearly as violent as I thought, or the original actors made out it was. Clever directing, and good transition of plots from old to new. Kids stuff action movie, but old school vibe.

Death Race
Death Race(2008)
½

I am a carmageddon fan (the old school computer game) and so it fits in the same genre as Death Race so hell I watched it, and it was pretty good. Kind of like Shaw Shank Redemption on a collection of class A and B drugs and a car.

The Expendables
½

Gee I think they would have done better to not make the film but they only did because Sly was rejected for the casting of RED. In the end you want to just hit Statham for making such a crap movie.

The Bounty Hunter
½

I wouldnt watch it again, but I like Butler and Aniston together for this romantic crime comdey, was really good!

Cop Out
Cop Out(2010)

I feel like I wanted to laugh, but yet it almost felt like Tracy Morgan did most his jokes on a blue screen and Bruce Willis shot his parts in a different part of America. Its was OK.

The Fourth Kind
½

This is like an extended X-Files episode starring Milla Jovovich, although there are parts of the film you wonder why they shot and cut the story in half with seperate actors to play the "real" people and the "actors" that just gets confusing because nobody would believe the yarn anyway, yet we are told we are supposed to in the end. Still, I thought it was worth watching, and it wasnt too awful. Besides I like X-Files ;)

44 Inch Chest

Rarely do I get bored of films, but this film dragged on way too long with too many "I was young once, and I am still hard!" jokes, script lines, and I just fast forwarded the movie to the end to remain pleasantly disapointed that I had not wasted my time watching the rest of the movie without hurrying to the end.

Let Me In
Let Me In(2010)
½

I am pretty sure some people didnt like it, but it was RIGHT up my alley for the subject, the story, the acting, and quite narration of a good modern vampire movie.

127 Hours
127 Hours(2010)

I agree I loved the movie too, flash is a good word to describe it, and Danny Boyle did well to include so much for a storyline which is pretty shallow when you think about it. You'll laugh a lot and once its over you'll pinch yourself.

The King's Speech

I didnt really rate Geoffrey Rush in Pirates OTC but I feel he stepped the game up and well quite obviously he is suited to the role of a speech therapist than a pirate. Its a really good film in the period set before WWII.

Little Fockers
½

Interesting but strange simular to the orignal, funny but not really original. Not a must see, but worth seeing to cheer yourself up and if you have seen the previous movies.

The Tourist
The Tourist(2010)

It was enjoyable. Really nothing much else. Some of the acting Johnny did the same for other movies and so Jolies character isnt that much different from her other movies either. Nothing new, but enjoyable.

Armored
Armored(2009)

I very much enjoy watching action movies with good casts and decent scripts. So although there is not much substance, it felt a well balanced film to switch on and switch off to in the evening.

Monsters
Monsters(2010)

I enjoyed the dialogue of the movie. It seems a bit like when Harry met Sally but with in our day and age they need to CGI everything. Unfortunately it wasnt hard to tell the CGI but nor was Avatar and I enjoyed this movie for what is was. A post apocolyptic, love adventure. If you enjoyed Romancing the Stone then you might enjoy this.

Star Trek
Star Trek(2009)
½

Star Trek is the best film of 2009 garunteed by me. It will make people think differently about calling someone a Trekkie.

Four Lions
Four Lions(2010)
½

Its a very good British movie which will last the tide of time due to its sinificant cultural and social messages imbedded into the chaotic, hilarious plot. The acting is superb with a new cast of unknown actors (at least for me). There are some greats moments of the movie which might break a rib from laughing, but the changes in scenes work effortlessly.

The Eagle
The Eagle(2011)

Its a good film despite the American accents, but film four make movies that I like to watch. This one being a serious, action/adventure movie set during the Romans attempt at conquest in Scotland. Its worth watching if you like historic action movies.

The Girl Who Played with Fire (Flickan som lekte med elden)

I prefered this movie than the first just because the scenes were less haunting but the essence of a Swedish Crime Drama was still captured in this remedy of the second in the trilogy. Afterall it feels good for the next follow up which I have yet to watch.

The Social Network

I liked it, I really liked it at a real life story adaptation and also a movie to sit down to watch with friends. Its hardly going to be an epic movie but it is actually really good and the vibe and buzz which I got from people about this movie before watching it, was true.

Sucker Punch
Sucker Punch(2011)
½

Well um meh.. I didnt know what to expect as giving the trailers didnt show much, and suprisingly there was actually a solid storyline, although disjointed at many times, this is supposedly the movies strength, but unfortunately for me, I found it a little too over-appreciative of its talent, the science fiction, fantasy merged with special effects was a nice touch but as a whole it didnt come off as enjoyable, perhaps due to the dark and mature plot.

The Lost Future

A sy fy channel feature movie. If your looking for a blockbuster hit then you won't strike gold here, only a deadly virus that has spread across the planet. I enjoyed the movie and give it 4**** but can genuinely understand peoples reasons for disliking the movie especially if they spent full RRP on the DVD. Save your money and buy Avatar or something and wait till this hits television, but its not really that bad especially if you are accustomed to the sy fy channel.

Skyline
Skyline(2010)
½

I like the film because its bringing a new approach to sci fi scripts, but that doesnt stop the fact that there is a lot regurgitated things from lots of movies around. It was enjoyable.

Inception
Inception(2010)
½

I enjoyed the movie.

Knowing
Knowing(2009)

Nic Cage loves to be set on fire. His role in the film is just as successful as many of his films you have seen him in recently and the films story was not what I expected at all, but it was not hard to follow the predictable but enjoyable storyline. The special effects were inventive and looked really awesome.

Fast Times At Ridgemont High

This is a great step back into the 80s. Gives a real cool feel for life before internet access, mobile phones, and all the problems that go with. This is what movies were for, communication amongst peers. The music and list of actors and actresses are great. When I see movies like this I just step into a dream world where all my problems are dissolved.

The story is woven between several smaller stories that all include students from the same year. Each actor and actress brings something different to the screen and its all pretty educational too.

If you want an 80s movie to watch. Then give this a go. Its great fun.

Repo Men
Repo Men(2010)

I totally enjoyed this futuristic action flick. There are twists and turns which you can nit pick from, like Blade Runner or even Jude Laws A.I. but it was great american movie with lots going on all the time. Never a dull moment and excellent special effects and use of the green screen.

The Men Who Stare at Goats
½

This is an enjoyable film for the most part if you like consipracy de-bunking type movies with a lot humour involved. Just look at the cast and Ewan McGregor really makes the film work. If you like George Clooney in "Burn after reading" he comes across with the same bravado in this movie, if your thought wars should be won with psychic gun slingers then this would be your movie.

Surrogates
Surrogates(2009)
½

Surrogates is quite a swift little Bruce Willis Sci Fi. With two main backdrops (the class/ surrogate divide) and the other host divide in the story using cameras and digital filming that remind me a lot of the quality Battlestar Galactica Re-imagined was shot in, unfortunately as the ending progressed the story lost its momentum. I could have suggested bringing in another famous actor appearance to make the ending memorable. Or even bringing in a character from the first scene for your typical kick in the crutch. Oh well.

The Road
The Road(2009)

A father and son struggle to live and survive through post apcolyptic America, we never really know what happened although flashbacks are given as to the fathers past life, the movie is a slow yet progressive grim look at how surviving is dangerous. The music sets the mood, all in all, a good film if you want something slow paced but a little scary.

Altitude
Altitude(2010)

The monster although brings up notions of fear and builds onto a "stange tales" genre, imho is expendable and the film could have benefited in overall story with a re-write of the script exluding the fantasy and adding more reality.

Overall they pushed the movie out of the norm, and for critics, industry and the cast this could be good, but for average punters, this film will probably lack sales and get a small cult audience.

Modern B movie. Quite fun, a little bit progressive too.

Clerks II
Clerks II(2006)

Its one of the only films I have watched that summed up the era from 2000-2005 with precision, so I'll give it an A+. I would also recommend it for someone to watch, so thats a big fat tick in my books. But I have to agree with a lot of people that "it just could have been better". I think some of the jokes sort of frizzled out and could of have increased timing. Never the less.

Employee of the Month

This is a pretty funny American comedy suburbia type laughs a go go, with Jessica Simpson and Dane Cook as the eye candy, there are quite a few laughs for you and your friends. I would recommend

Pineapple Express

Its an outrageously fashionable pot smoking, fun, gun wielding, dilema solving modern noir slash comedy. There definately a good few laughs packed in there!

Paul
Paul(2011)
½

Its good if PAX, E3, ComicCon conventions are your forte, all in all its good humoured but if you don't pick up on the jokes I have the feeling it lacks the punch. I really enjoyed the movie, and would love to one day sit down with my family to watch this.

Saw 3D
Saw 3D(2010)
½

I saw this in the cinema and it was gruesome but I cannot remember the story, its a bit white wash really, all I can recall is various ways people died, and if that's what the films about for you then go watch it.

Black Swan
Black Swan(2010)
½

You need not be a professional ballet critique to enjoy, as I had the impression that Portmans dancing is not of the calibre for real ballet. But this movie is a cheaper and more home friendly alternative to visiting the stage for a real performance. I enjoyed the storyline that spun on different levels of the movie, somewhat intertwining the plot and the original swan lake to the television friendly audience. Quite a thriller and not suitable for minors.

Tron Legacy
Tron Legacy(2010)
½

Tron is a modern update to the original. Released during the winter of 2010 in 3D this made the film more to standout from the rest, for those that love sci fi and action adventure stories, this is an enjoyable and must see movie. For the rest who aren't big sci fi buffs, then sit along and enjoy the movie. I really enjoyed this movie at the cinema and would love to watch it again, if not just for the soundtrack and DVD features.

Kick-Ass
Kick-Ass(2010)

If you liked the movie you'll love the graphic novel and vice versa. Don't limit yourself to just the one, they are different and entertaining. The graphic novel is what I read before watching the movie and this feels like the completely right thing to do, if you have watched the movie first, then go ahead and read it anyway you'll be suprised at how much they compliment each other. To use an ananolgy, its like having a bible without its crucifix

Iron Man 2
Iron Man 2(2010)
½

The first Iron Man movie was much better, but this introduced War Machine, who expectadely will feature in the Avengers movie. Albeit suggestively, this filled in the back story for War Machine.

Inkheart
Inkheart(2009)

A good fun fantasy family adventure. Reminicsent of what Princess Bride or Never Ending Story "achieved" in their era, but updated using a new creative license with twists and great cast and animation.

Free Jimmy (Slipp Jimmy fri)
½

CGI animted adult adult rated movie. The jokes are funny enough but with a sinister and often pointless punchline. The undertone of the movie is built up around drug use and trafficking, inside an Elephants tummy to say the least. I didnt watch this movie with much expectation and left with less, but for some this movie will be cult comedy.

Sex and the City 2

The movie includes a lot of cross culture sex references, perhaps in part something to do about Americas involvement in the Middle East of the last two decades. The ladies, who really who like to flash around are looking so old they only need to lift up the bottom of their dresses are funny and crass if thats your tickle rib, and all over the scenes are well shot and light humoured and pick up on the subject of fashion. It wasnt a bad film, but its far from my top 10.

The Blind Side

If you like drama about true life, family movies, a good story and depth, with actors that believe in their role and the movie they make then you will enjoy this for a Sunday break or evening movie.

If you're like myself, looking for the action of a good story, perhaps a typical hollywood drama, with no real realism and lots of NFL footage then its the wrong film.

If you just want the low down on the player, and I did not realise this was a true life story till the very end, then heres the wiki you probably are looking for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Oher

Appaloosa
Appaloosa(2008)

Brilliant location, superb believable acting, great soundtrack all adds up to an essential Cowboy movie to watch for all Cowboy fans and gunslingers !

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Prince of Persia is a very good action movie with beautifully rich and out of this world costumes and scenes, with attention to making it a little more interesting by dipping away from the usual.

There are some good scenes, and not as good as Pirates of the Caribbean as pirates are way cooler, and as it is made by Disney I found myself after an hour actually realising this was just the same story from Alladin. Plus there were no, or very little, real persians which was a tragic shame to the authenticity, but still its a film based on a video game, you cant get much authentic than that. :)

2012
2012(2009)
½

the Good: The amazing chorographed apocolyptica of buildings crashing around everywhere and the world burning and destroying, the amazing sets and action pace.

The Bad: Weak characters and superbly predictable story, but the weak characters mainly.

The Ugly: A film that to me was watching the world ending around John Cusack for two hours, severly crippled the film for me.

Good for family and kids wanting an action packed apocalypse, although there is lots of swearing throughout. They even swear in Russian I noticed.

Spider-Man 3
Spider-Man 3(2007)

Hell this film is not as bad as I thought it would be at all. Typical marvel learning the ropes and getting better and better on how to make a movie.

Michael Jackson's This Is It

Watching MJ back stage for 2 hours , seeing him choreograph his moves, and his loving attention to his musicians was not enough to keep me loving the movie which was pretty saddening having known what happened to him after. But in comparison the movie was worth releasing, just maybe not watching.

Taken
Taken(2009)

Yes a truely well portrayed film. Liam Neeson steals the show, I never thought an actor this old could pack punch for pound, overly unbelievable but yet shimmers of truth pitched in the storyline and character. The honest thing to say is if you liked, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, then you'll find this entertaining. Its a thriller with plenty of well choreographed fight scenes, and realistic baddies.

Resident Evil: Afterlife
½

You will enjoy this more if you have been following as a fan the films and enjoy the romper stomper characters and overly apocalyptic theme. I am sure if you don't fit this category then you might just find the story well and truely predictable and the characters extremely stereotypical, but on the other hand if your viewing pleasure is not ruled by the bible of film critics then this might shine to your liking and you visit the previous films, although caution should be taken, none of them differ very much in plot. After been blown away for the trailer in 3D I was slightly disapointed where as I had the impression this film would be 3D through and through, it was nearly, but just a yard short.

Hot Tub Time Machine
½

Jeez I see why this has its name, talk about 80s time travelling. Some funny skits, made me laugh a few times, and certain bits had a crappy punch line and the story was pure bull, but in a good way. I think this is mainly a parody of comedy with si fi, and shouldnt be taken seriously but something to watch if you need a light comedy.

Existenz
Existenz(1999)
½

Bordering modern B-movie due to its A quality acting ( joking) but the theme is, how do you say? Typical Cronenberg but the movie, if not very entertaining or convincing, will deliver a shudder of paranoia and keep you watching. If you liked this then you might like Gattaca or Gamer.

The Last of the Mohicans
½

There is so much important history to the movie, it just suprises me where the truth and hollywood merge, and where the script is a romantic fantasy. I would love to see more movies from this genre, and there are some good ones. Slightly tired of the theme tune after watching this movie several hundred times, but I would watch a re-make, if Hollwood brought in the right director and camera crew.

Halloween
Halloween(2007)

I guess I am the only person to like the development of the cutest kid turn into a brainless killing machine. If you like Rob Zombie movies, Scream and Nightmare on Elm street then I would like to think you'll enjoy this. I might be throwing spoilers out, but one of the best victim take down scenes of the past 10 years. The part where the Doctor is standing outside his house during Halloween and Myers in split second rips into his neck with a knife. No openly graphic detailed scenes, just a scene that paints the picture of what is needed to scare you. I loved the music, the classic Carpenter theme, love the disfunctional family with Jimmy Carter on their wall. The almost idiotic shrink played by Malcolm McDowell, you would think 15 years with no progress with a normal kid would have lost his job, eventually the Sheriff tells it how it is. One of the cutest pschyopath you'll find on DVD.

30 Days of Night

What was this film made for? Josh Harnett shouldn't be cast in this film, perhaps I missed the hype surrounding this film and yes there were good parts but really? If the creators of this movie had the correct cast for a horror movie and more information about the horrors of vampires feeding off Alaskan residents I would like it. None of these vampires were scary, they looked tough as nails but I was bored all the way through. It was so friggin cliche.

The Fly
The Fly(1958)
½

Damn, they do not make movies like this anymore. You'd be missing out not to give pre-60s movies a try. One of my favourite movies is the black pirate shot in 1920s a silent film and unsuprisingly more interesting and engaging than 90% of movies made today. This is the same, simple plot, simple acting, a real way of leaving it to your imagination without the use of insane eye sore sfx and insanely overly complicated plot hooks and twists. This film is plain good fun ! Thumbs Up !

Piranha 3-D
Piranha 3-D(2010)

This is not a movie you watch with the family, probably not with your friends either unless your getting very drunk, but more a manly cheer me up movie. I like it because its set on Spring Break and mutilates so many people that grind my nerves but its got serious issues with plot hooks. There were four people watching this in the cinema when I saw it, the 3d was bareable. But the advert for Resident Evil in 3d blew me away. You could easily miss this movie and your life would be none the worse.

4 stars for a good spring break movie, thats it !

Piranha
Piranha(1978)
½

Piranha is a very bad A list, or a pretty decent B list. But not a cult classic, although that has probably changed recently. If it mimics any film then its Jaws but only its plot, the Piranhas are B movie material, and it just feels odd watching this odd little movie.

Green Zone
Green Zone(2010)

Green Zone is the "true" story of what happened in Iraq and if you were ever there then you are going to have a different story than someone else I suppose this is the most popular tale, so they decided to turn it into a feature movie. Not bad at all.

The Crazies
The Crazies(2010)
½

The trailer looked awesome, and then I watched it and although it wasn't bad at all I also felt I had been robbed on what the storyline showed in the trailer and what I got. Man! Never believe those trailers!!

Napoleon Dynamite
½

There are lots of very funny moments, and in contrast there are many moments you wished you had known about just so you could sit through them and keep your eyes closed. "Gosh!"

Predators
Predators(2010)
½

Predators isn't predictable unless you have someone tell you spoilers, but the concept is all too familuar, and as I watched the film and followed the simularities with films of this franchise I really concentrated on sub plots in order to make the movie work for me. I had to watch this film on opening night at the cinema. To me if you haven't taken to the opportunity to watch this in the cinema then you haven't explored what the movie has to offer but on the flip side, its far away from what the original Franchise had created in our imaginations.

Year One
Year One(2009)

Jack Black is pretty lousy in this movie, but the script writing and scenery are cool enough to keep me laughing and some hot chicks. I wasn't let down because I didn't expect it to be great.

Youth in Revolt

Probably my least favourite M.Cera movie of recent due to that awful tache and some rediculous teen movie cliches which were not avoided yet could have been. He is the star role and not for the first time, and he didn't disapoint. He left me wondering what kind of character he is going to act when he is older. I really don't want Hollywood to paint this guy into a corner I think he has more talent and networks to have a real stab at a belieavable character.

Howling III: The Marsupials
½

Far from being scary . The directing is pretty cool and the acting isn't that shabby. But beware the baby werewolf and its plastic family. Its surreal story keeps entertaining with appearances from a couple of charasmatic aussies including Dame Edna Everage, this is not neccesarily and good thing but you will see what I mean towards the end. The Abbos I liked. You can watch this for free (legally) at Blinkbox.com

Wild Hogs
Wild Hogs(2007)

What you see on the box is basically what you get and not much else. Its a simple comedy and not much else. Tim Allen is my hero so without him in this movie I would have just added it to my un-interested list. But with things running out to watch I thought simple laughs were in order. The motorbikes were pretty nice to watch too!

Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight
½

I eventually for around to buy this as I am a D&D fan and played when I was around ten. I watched the cartoons on a Sunday morning and never read the novels but all the classic styles were there which I expect from classical D&D. You won't be impressed if you do not have a decent amount of knowledge about D&D and take your movie experiences too seriously. I've seen worse, which is basically saying that the animation wasn't up to current standards. Cult viewing at the most. One for the fans.

A Scanner Darkly

I wouldn't get too bogged down in the fact its a sci fi or based in the future because apart from one story hook and plot line. There is very little to give the impression of a futuristic movie. The element which you can argue about is the layers of animation (I don't know what type of animation this is either) but the whole way through you are watching a very surreal yet very down to earth approach to ordinary peoples lives in a drastic build up to an ending. Worth viewing! I likef Robert Downey Jr a lot in this movie yet Keanu Reeves scrapes through with another almost identical character from his previous movies and still remains the "Ted" we all still love.

The Hangover
The Hangover(2009)

I was not quite sure with this to start. Zach Galifanakis playing a character lost somewhere between the Rain Man and The Dude and suddenly the jokes began to open up and make me laugh. The comedy film you have here feels in tune with the comedy era of the 80s. (lots of inuendo aimed at class barriers and repression) Perhaps it was the Las Vegas shots, the screen casting, and the 'wannabe' enjoying life again sountrack that I liked, but overall it was a good film. I was expecting more "twists in the script" but the jokes made up for it. I think I would watch this again.

Starship Troopers 3: Marauder
½

Wow, much improved since the sequal. Marauder is the third film in the Starship Troopers triology and for a guy like me I found it engaging, hella funny, and deep. I can explain quickly that Rico (Casper Van Dien) is back a lives through the whole thing, okay that was really obvious but it's nice to see the actor back playing the character, and the new development of Rico is pretty nice! Also you got every Starship Troopers cliche, and I really think the CGI has got worse but it seems they were trying to be creative with it as much as possible towards the end. The sub plots of religion, you think you would hate, but actually quite the opposite.

Anyway Enjoy the Film.

Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation

Not the best second film. But its not that bad at the same time. Its good some good effects and a quick script and some twists and turns, unfortunately most of it seems too familuar with a whole bunch of other sci fi films. But watch it , Kelly Carlson naked is entertaining!

Clash of the Titans

Haters of this film need to rethink their strategy. This film was EPIC. I would watch this over Blabbatar any day!

HALO Legends
HALO Legends(2010)

HALO Legends is a tough old story to get into but I found it much easier once I pressed play on the remote control.

Immortal
Immortal(2004)
½

The film has good actors and good story. The CGI goes from great to bad and yet the "bad" CGI fits into this sci-fi fantasy as if they were computer avatars of real people. Like delving into a mind of a true sci-fi lover who needs to show an audience topics that have been left alone. Its really odd and a cold world, so I think I have not seen a movie that makes CGI this bad into a reliable story prop, almost a commodity for your mind, that is if your mind likes rich sci fi stories. The character too, they are excellent and feel like they have been lived and not just created on a script-writers spare day off ( like so many sci fis ) The film, I have to argue is art, because none of it looks like it was fitted together in a whim, although some will disagree with me and say "its bad" I think its original. When a budget is not there for a movie, bad CGI is still often used because it draws an audience, its been strategically placed in the film here, as a great painter leaves no media wasted, the director here has really pushed his work load in order to satisfy something calling inside of him (or her) and really I can't see them doing better. Once you made a film in hollywood for the world to see, they often want to see the same thing in a different way. I wonder how the director and staff really feel about their future.

I would watch this film again, but really only on my own, or with someone who really appreciates sci fi artwork or somebody who has seen the film and liked it. Not to say that people, and families watch this. But there is levels of violence not suitable for non-mature audiences.

Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus

There are plenty of other non-modern B movies than wasting your time with this. This is the sort of film you watch on tv after you lost your job. Horrible. Special Effects are better with my eyes closed. Just go to youtube and watch it first.

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (AVP 2)

Holy Cow I wasnt too sure about the first aVp but this omg just was like gory and creepy and alienish !! like complete mayhem i wish they did alternative scripts and perhaps i would buy it

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Am I really wrong to think Emma Watson is not only hot but going to be such a good actress. I probably only watch Potter movies for three reasons 1/ Emma Watson is cute 2/ Ruper Grint is funny in an adult way 3/ i like the lore.

White Chicks
White Chicks(2004)

Don't get me wrong the Wayans brothers are pretty funny but I really don't rate this film and wouldn't be interested in watching it again.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
½

I enjoyed the violence and the dusty cowboy docu-film yet although the characters were very rigid the acting of Brad Pitt sort of put a dampener on watching overall. He has done and looks better in other movies.

Ong Bak 2
Ong Bak 2(2009)

flawless. Nothing this entertaining since Enter the Dragon

Pandorum
Pandorum(2009)
½

I enjoyed the epic idea and sci fi cannon could definately lend itself to a good book, but overall the movie was full of terrible cliches, especially sci fi ones, and dumbed down acting and casting. But definately worth watching if for the fact I havent seen a movie with the same storyline. If you want to watch a good sci-fi watch avatar instead.

Sin Nombre
Sin Nombre(2009)
½

A decent latin american journey through Mexico with tradegy, love, honour. A fable of a story that could span a thousand years and several cultures. Sin Nombre is a gritty but worthwhile movie to watch.

Soldier Blue
Soldier Blue(1970)

Soldier Blue is a very good movie, showing the drama and realities of war following two lead characters through a story with a very bloody ending.

The Witchblade

The Top Cow comic franchise Witchblade gets a big screen adaptation. A magical gauntlet bestows power on a chosen female of every generation. In the film, a female detective will use the ornament to fight crime. Platinum Studios and Arclight Films produce the film scripted by Everette De Roche and Marc Silvestri. The story was turned into a television series on TNT as well as anime audiences. Battlestar Galactica veteran Michael Rymer handles directing and co-producing duties on the fantasy-action flick. Expect to be released 2012.

I watched the first episode and have found an anime that I really can recommend. Its rare thing to see a cauldron and anime goodness.

This is a film with a serious message which is hard to take serious. Just doesnt cut it as a Sci Fi great for me but very interesting, fun and creative. If you like Independance day and likely to watch Idioterne right after that then you might be hungering for this film.

If your bored of Hollywood try this because it imaginitive writing and a good comedy.

The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3

The main fact is if you have seen pretty much any other Washington or Travolta crime thriller then you will enjoy this. There is no clever twist, which is a good thing and it was pretty enjoyable.

Witchblade
Witchblade(2006)
½

This anime is tight! Okay so Witchblade was a comic from TopCow and did several crossovers (Witchblade/wonder woman, Witchblade/Alien/Predator, Witchblade/Medievil Spawn, Witchblade/Vampirella) and a long 100+ issue comic 'Witchblade' feat Sarah Pazzini (which is the dullest!) the cool thing is Witchblade is not a superhero but an artifact. Some superheros draw their energy from an artifact (iron man) yet beholding the witchblade makes you a superhero. But my interpretation is that the Witchblade is the super hero you want to find the history too, not just the many Woman whom have, do, or will come to possess it. By the way, the witchblade can only attach itself to women and only those chosen to possess it by the Witchblade itself. It flutters itself through history. There are some really excellent Witchblade comics out there so it was my intention to watch this japanimation! I liked the first 3 episodes that came on DVD. Very well presented, good details, colouring, voice overs, story arch. It's your typical well executed Anime. So yesterday I paid out for the full 6 seasons and I am getting 13 hours and 5 minutes of sweet, fast, and sexy action.
Now you might want to nickname me Nottingham for being such an avid fan, but just its something I am stuck into. Expecting they pull in the right director for the feature film expected this year. Hell pay me the money and I'll do it :D

Fool's Gold
Fool's Gold(2008)

This is a pretty fun film, if your stranded in the British Isles and the Bahamas feels a million miles away. Its sexy, strange, even exciting at parts, plus very good landscape scenes and almost stage acting makes it entertaining and unbelievable but in a good way.

Turistas (Paradise Lost)
½

Plain, simple, boring, compared to "the beach" or say "Saw" then this film is simply not worth watching. To make things worse, I now never want to visit Brasil.

Freedom Writers
½

Erm to be honest once you have watched Dangerous Minds you really don't see anything new done here. Hilary Swank is pure **** material and in the words of Ali G "I definately would". The movie will capture some movie goers hearts and attention but perhaps just maybe they could have focused the film on any other culture apart from black, white, hispanic. Perhaps using subcultures to steer and guide our judgements might have kept my interest.

The Pursuit of Happyness
½

Not such that I don't like the director but the story itself is familuar and just about kept my interest through the movie by thinking about why humans pursue happiness (or happyness) yet I liked the fact its based on a true story in the 80s. That gives it the depth I need to like the movie.

Burn After Reading
½

Burn after reading made me laugh in a style I haven't laughed in a while. Brad Pitt was my favourite character, often playing serious matter he fit the part as the goofy gym coach. The relations between all worked well. Oh how I could imagine this happening, another day in DC.

Then She Found Me

The movie has a good cast, a ton of perspectives about love, life, relationships and the seeds parents sow. If your looking for a film with acoustic guitars, family matters, and good tempo without being unrealistic then watch "Then She Found Me".

Seven Pounds
Seven Pounds(2008)

Seven Pounds is a remarkable story.

Ali
Ali(2001)

This is a great blockbuster. There are some great acting moments but none from Will Smith. Will Smith can't box, but after some heavy music and the ongoing Ali saga you really begin to feel for Will Smith and accept what the film is about. Will Smith brings the wit Ali spoke to another level. Its worth watching.

This is a pretty good movie. I've been watching a few Asian movies at the moment and fit right in there. Its a quite clever story that I have not heard or seen before and I enjoyed it. If only the acting was more improved and the special effects directing was not at all jaw dropping.

American Virgin

Its such an awful film, has no reason to exsist and is a big waste of money and potential talent.

Disney's A Christmas Carol
½

An enjoyable animated Disney telling of Charles Dickens a Christmas Carol. Lots of attention to detail and with a slow steady pace that achieves the results Zemeckis was intending. Very true to the original (okay minus the CGI) and very Christmasy.

Chocolate

Smokin' Aces
Smokin' Aces(2007)
½

Smokin' Aces is not such a bad film. Its got violence, double crossing, and the mob. Only just the fact that I've seen it all before and the end cascaded like any other thriller with a twist that you didnt expect. Now had the things I expected happened it may have been better. If you like this watch Domino another film, nearly exactly the same, different actors.

In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale

The CGI and fight scenes are worth more than the film, and watching the film is really for a family night or boys who under 15 who like sword fights and wouldnt really understand that this is a really awful fantasy story. Rated 15 but really should be rated PG. Some of the acting is so terrible you will want to skip to the fight scenes which are actually not so bad.

The Number One Girl

Decent drama/ganster would be more suitable for 'crime drama' night on Television and more suited to a generation thats not interested in high tech Hollywood wizardry. Its a bit like days of our lives meets Steven Seagal.

Planet Terror (Grindhouse Presents: Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror)

Just finished watching another film. The "sequal" to Death Proof by Tarantino. Robert "guerilla" Rodriguez directs this movie. Like an answer to a prayer I've been looking for a good version of Night of the Zombies (Battalion of the Living Dead)(Gamma 693)(The Chilling)(Sister of Death) and now I need not look. Everything I wanted and a hell of a lot more! Screw Romero , Rodriguez is my #1 Zombie director of the year!

Death Proof

Waterworld
Waterworld(1995)
½

Ideal for Children and makes a big change from CGI cartoons which dominate and are in demand. But Kevin Costner (lead) is good and so is Chaim Girafi (girl) but I didnt quite enjoy Jeanne Tripplehorn. The movie is full of Hollywood stunts and is a very well told story with a clear begining, middle and end. Plus its not out dated for a film made nearly 15 years ago.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon
½

Do you have to watch the first film to enjoy the second part? I would have thought so because there are storyline info that threads into this film, but you can enjoy it none the less. I think this will become succesful again when it is released on Blu Ray and DVD. More vampire films! Its a good second part. Waiting for the next sequal.

Pathfinder
Pathfinder(2007)

Really wanted to cower at this celluloid spectacle's physical presence. The elements were present: marauding, pillaging Vikings displaying brutal, forceful dominance; an indigenous Tribe of Native Americans adoption of one 'forgotten Viking son' as their own; the lone, hybrid Warrior; a battle for existence in the balance. Yet, it disappoints. A combination of 'The 13th Warrior', 'The Last of the Mohicans' and 'The New World' at best. Karl Urban (Kirill in 'The Bourne Supremacy') plays the brooding Ghost, the adopted Viking. Russell Means **** in 'The Last of the Mohicans') the Tribal Pathfinder and Clancy Brown (no explanation required) the dastardly head Viking Gunnar. Throw in sexy gal Starfire (Moon Bloodgood, that's the female actors name - honest) and a Director (Marcus Nispel) who cut his teeth doing Pop Promos for the likes of Billy Joel, Janet Jackson and George Michael. Don't judge, everyone starts somewhere. The direction and lavish visuals are excellent - a treat. But not enough to prevent numb-bum syndrome. At times the line between 'Pathfinder' and 'The Last of the Mohicans' blurs, certain Daniel Day-Lewis was poking around in the woods. Action sequences are good, but nothing especially new or invigorating. Someone can only be chopped up by sword in so many ways. All that said, go see it or rent it. Can't hurt. If it does, it'll only be your bum.

40 Days and 40 Nights
½

I enjoyed the orginality of the film, its your post "teen flick" romance located in New York city which itself is interesting, I just wish they used more local areas of NYC instead of the flats (homes). It wasn't so much a comedy but a "feel good" flick.

Brazil

Brazil is one of my favourite movies of all time. Going into the top ten, because I see it as a si-fi. Its a Sci-Fi with credibility and honesty. Pure British and then Rober De Niro (what the frak? But god damn it works) . I'll be waiting for the big budget re-release.

Moon
Moon(2009)

This film can appeal to anyone, and I assume thats why I liked it so much. Its not too obvious and is SCI FI but its a film not wrapped up in its own illusion and is just a very good film.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
½

Some poinent moments that showcase periods and eras to our contemporary generation, also some high emotion and beautiful and fascinating concept. But strip it down and you are left with a weak structure which both actors have done before and leaves the viewer feeling slightly robbed of their intelligence. In all honesty, although I have not read it, this is another film which probably goes by the famous saying "the book is better than the film"

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant

Cirque du Freak is an average movie. The best part are the special effects and unfortunately this is not enough at the end to pull this movie out from the circus tent and compete with some of the blockbusters and standard of acting today. I think its an original idea but using too many "film techniques" seen before. Nothing original in the director.

The Host
The Host(2007)

Problem being is the poor CGI to film transition and a slightly strange translation (or a bad script) but if you like world cinema and subtitled movies and enjoy trhller suspense in a good humoured fashion then watch! I really enjoyed it, laughed A LOT (at the jokes) and really didnt mind the bad SFX.

I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK (Saibogujiman kwenchana)

A very cool and amusing movie which is really a great piece of DVD rental choice in the Wolrd Cinema section. Some of it was quite baffling. At times it made me think a lot and laugh after.

Aeon Flux
Aeon Flux(2005)

This is a pretty cool film. If you liked Dune and watch programmes on the Sci Fi channel then you will like and probably have already seen this. I compare it to Dune because it is a bit odd and completely unbelievable. If you like your characters with emotions then stay clear.

Ultraviolet
Ultraviolet(2006)

Good but really boring exhausted plot line. Script written with no thought but the special effects are amazing and you must add this to your list if you can watch it as Blu-Ray. The Blu-ray version is hot!

Stealth
Stealth(2005)
½

You will probably try to compare this to Top Gun, understandable, as therereally hasnt been any hollywood movies about the Air Force since Tom Cruise took our breaths away. If you give the movie a chance you will notice that Stealth is a good movie in its own right and really doesnt follow the Top Gun formula. But there really is nothing going to ever be better than Top Gun. Yet the Russian Terminators in Stealth are hot and you'll drop your mouth or say out loud "OMFG"

Dead Man Running

Really good British gangster, adventure caper. Has some really well deserved nominations of stars from the papers.

Starship Troopers

The link between ST and Total Recall is obvious and a long wait from Paul Verhoeven fans for this EPIC sci fi , slasher, horror. Good Blu-Ray also.

The Last House on the Left

Horror film gone wrong. The makers of the film got their education from WalMart. Shaky camera. Rubber props (fire extinguisher). Unrelated violence. I failed to see what crime the bad guys actually did, where as the parents were more evil than satan. Not so bad acting but if I had watched this expecting a decent horror story I would be massively let down. Bad bad bad!

Coraline

High Concept Action Flick. Its not too bad once you realise that the bad guys are real evil characters! I think some of the bad guys in this movie deserve to be ranked amongst the top 40 evil characters. 18+ no children at all. There are some scenes that children and parents will find offensive.

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist

Pretty cool movie with a nice soundtrack. Nice relax movie, watching awkward 18 year olds and wishing you were that old again at the end. Like I say, good soundtrack!

Angels & Demons
½

Pretty cool movie. But predictable. Has a good ending. Worth watching for adults.

Hannibal Rising

Great Film. For adults with adult themes including the Russian Front which most un-educated people won't understand. I would recommend the film if you were around when the 'Silence of the Lambs' was released. This film is different, very very different, but it keeps up with modern films and follows the timeline of Hannibal Lecter well. Enjoyable any night of the week movie !

Cast Away
Cast Away(2000)

From the begining of the film to the end I really enjoyed watching this movie by Tom Hanks. Everything fits together well, and it was a feel good film. The best films ! I admire the movies Tom Hanks is in and have now rented Angels and Demons tonight. Cast Away is suited for an adult audience more than younger for the fine details which soaks you up.

Ginger Snaps Back - The Beginning
½

The story telling in this, the narrating, the directing, and the special effects really sucked bad. Apart from that, I thought they used nice locations, had good props and a nice expensive camera and marketing. The acting sucked and so did the characters. If you compare this film to Interview with the Vampire or films on the same genre, even Teen Werewolf was better. But I think could this be something to do with the lead characters and central storyline centered on female characters. I would hate to say but I can't remember a film that had a female character (especially sisters) who were the hook. (well ones that weren't aimed at a male audience) This is not the downfall. Its just badly scripted, written and the special effects sucked (compare them to the Howling, Teen Werewolf movies made almost 20 years ago) I think "they" cast the wrong people for the parts also. I would love to see better made movies with leading women. Who are "they"? God only knows cus I don't.

Inglourious Basterds

This had a good actor in it (Brad Pitt) and some really strange emotions running through. Comedy to Tragedy. Lots of references to famous people and I think Quentin Tarantino has done nothing new in his style or directing. If anything he has just a new cast and a new setting. World War II ? Didn't really feel comfortable with this after an hour but a lot was explored for those that have never sat an American History class on WWII in Europe. There are much better movies that cover this subject in a much more tangible way. (see Defiance) And if Hollywood had a budget then I would rather see more tales of American soldiers. They have not properly made a film about many English or American troops fighting in Europe. For example. The punk movement in the 60s came from a trend started by American paratroopers that jumped out of planes with Mowhawks. I just think Brad Pitt likes scalping people. Remember his previous WWII film?

Twilight
Twilight(2008)

One scene disapointed me and I'm not going to add a spoiler. I was not too sure about this film. But to be honest its the peacefulness, the romanticism of the occult, the acting is half decent but I think the directing , the Washington setting, and just plain vampire story make this re-watchable. :)

Watchmen
Watchmen(2009)

Ha ! I enjoyed this. I unfortunaley did not read the Graphic Novel (comic) cus it did not appeal to me, but the movie was pretty cool. I think you just sit there forgetting you exsist and get drawn into Zack Snyders' masterpiece. Dr Manhattan, omg that is very cool . Hats off.

Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder

I can glady get sucked into this . Awful gibberish tho, nice animations and pure fun cartoon like they used to make em. But to be honest I think I am a bit old for this. Still... :P

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
½

I found this exciting and had a wow factor to alot. It was better than previous Potter films, obviously there is a lot uncovered but I think overall it was good. I am not too sure if I would want to watch this again and again but its certainly something I could stick on in the background and half concentrate on. I like the literature fantasy element the most and the surreal realist English Scenes. Acting was pretty poor though. Best actors were Rupert Grint and Jim Broadbent.

Dragonball Evolution
½

I have seen a few Dragon ball. But don't consider myself a fan. I sat down a little bit sceptical of a movie based on a cult show. Often animation to cinema isn't easy. I personally enjoyed the movie. I found it fun, silly, with some cool Kung Fu moves. I really do like Chow Yun Fat movies, I enjoyed the characters, how they were introduced how they were acted out and their roles in the storyline. Most die hard DBZ fans expect more, but after all its a cartoon, and if you ask any Japanese person they will tell you DBZ is for kids anyway.

Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice(1988)
½

Certain merit in this film remembering that it wasn't made with todays illustrious CGI and model making that Tim Burton would create for any of his films released in the future. Yet you can still distinctly tell it is a T.Burton movie and I think Winona Ryder takes the show to make it a much better film.

Mission to Mars
½

I enjoyed this sci caper that tells about Mars exploration and what could happen if we find that there is room for life on the hostile planet. Although I think the end 20 minutes was a bit over the top. Good for the dads and sons of the family to watch on the weekend.

Outlander
Outlander(2009)
½

Watching this film was great ! Its good for adults and kids. I don't think girls of the family would enjoy it so much, Really cool CGI. Really fun and interesting. Not too serious. Blockbuster cool !
The set back has more potential and I can see there being an Outlander 2 if they get the funds. But don't hold your breath I think they need to explore releasing some books, graphic novels first.

The X-Files: I Want to Believe (The X Files 2)

If you have seen at least one season and know the background to the recent seasons then you will enjoy this film. Otherwise this is a comparitivlely normal movie but worth seeing the same. Thriller/Horror/Drama

Signs
Signs(2002)

I love this ! Mel Gibson is great and I really did not know what exactly this film was about apart from aliens and crop circles. There is a lot hidden just beneath the surface but yet its very strange a paranormal. You have to be in the mood for aliens or else the end might freak you out a bit. Although I recognised Joaquin Phoenix I did not twig his actual name. He is a good actor too.

Bronson
Bronson(2009)

Classic British cinema. Lets name a few, clockwork orange, The Commitments, Trainspotting and now for 2009 there is Bronson. Great portrayal of real time spent in prison and just how much a let down life is. People expect violence, but as Bronson in the film says, its a chance for him to sharpen his tools. Bronson the socialist anti hero. I would watch this again. Not suitable for under 15.

½

For a movie its got a good story and sturdy acting and is pretty interesting the main audience and those that get the main juicy bits from the story will probably be ivy league yanks. But come on, is his accent some joke or is that part of his character. "It sounds like bloody awful mate isn't it," I think not

Tropic Thunder

The best Ben Stiller movie I have seen, the characters dialogue was slightly annoying but there are a good few laughs at Hollywood and its good to see because a film like this is uncommon. The actual quality of the DVD is great and there is a lot happening on screen, lots of colours and action. Some people might agree that it bottom outs as it gets to the end, some might find it even funnier. Love it or hate it kind of film.

Monsters vs. Aliens
½

This is pretty cool Sci Fi, slash adventure, cgi movie. Kids will love the characters but I can't see them understanding the story line. I guess some will while younger ones might not. If you buy in to the full experience, with the video games, posters and educating your kids on the moralities of the Nuclear Age then you might enjoy it.

Captain Blood
½

Not as good as I had hoped for. Stiff upper lip, boring, supposedly a classic, but wasn't making me feel enthralled. There ARE better pirate movies. Fact.

Righteous Kill

Big Actors filling big shoes. New generation 21st century movie. Good family cop film. De Niro and Pacino have a good chemistry.

The Black Pirate

As far as pirate classics go them this is cinema treat. It was released in 1926. Shot in black and white and above all a silent movie, its still 1.5 hours in length and all the action and mystery you would expect from a pirate film.

The Pirate Movie
½

Pretty cute pirate of penzance comedy musical. The jokes are really bad and so is everything else, i don't even know if your kids will like this. Actually I don't know of anyone who would like this but I did watch it all and didn't complain so it can't be too bad.

Long John Silver

I think this is called 'Long Silver's return to treasure island' and its based on the book by Robert L. Stevensons 'Long John Silver' which is the sequal to world famous fictional 'Treasure Island' despite what the review says its portrays very little of Disneys Pirates of the Caribbean. I think you would have to go back before 1954 for Disneys inspiration. Its a decent jolly film, quite funny at times, and shot in technicolor. Connie Gilchrist is good, but Long John Silver and Jim are a little 'boysih' for my like.

The Devil-Ship Pirates

Spanish seamen during the Armadada are set adrift onto the English Cornish coastline where they overtake a village and slowly turn pirate. Not much swashbuckling, or piracy as such (compared to Captain Blood) but well acted and a thorough story.

Il Corsaro nero (Blackie the Pirate) (The Black Pirate)

You know those old shaolin king fu films with the really bad dubbing, well if you want to watch the Italian pirate equivalent then watch this. Filmed not only in Technicolor but also Techniscope (lol) the swashbuckling adventure cape had me chuckling and laughing at the end quite a lot. Not because it was bad, its actually quite a classic one, but because the pirates are just so god damned funny.

Captain Kidd

The acting is fairly good, and there is a lot of it. Don't be suprised not to find too much "high seas adventure" but more trasure and plunder. Black and White. focused more on story than much else. but with some beautiful scenes none the less.

The Kite Runner

Pros: based on a book
Cons: really bad screenplay

Eden Lake
Eden Lake(2008)

Really quite random. Guy gets terrorised by kids and then slowly becomes butchered by the little apparent pshcyhos.

Gone Baby Gone

About a cop that seeks to save a little girl from a child abductor.Bad because it seems like a drama where it could have been more enforced and political. Thought provoking none the less, but really didn't achieve the benchmark on that subject of abduction. We all know its wrong to touch children turning it into a drama is something else. Best bit of the film is where the paedo gets shot in the back of the head.

The Bucket List

I liked the fact that both actors were playing roles suited for their age. It made the film a lot more enjoyable. The film was good until the film started skipping half way through obviously no fault to the actual film.

good film set in the 70s but quick and fst paced storyline straight to the core business and focusing on the plot. Gets better as the film goes on, not a let down.

Night of the Zombies (Battalion of the Living Dead)(Gamma 693)(The Chilling)(Sister of Death)

Nearly a bad ass movie. Was excellent when I watched it agggggges ago with mates and popcorn.

Shaun of the Dead

wicked movie. me and my friends on facebook like this. I like the humour. Everything is so stupid and trivial. but with the added flesh eating zombie part.

The Other Boleyn Girl

Pretty good. For adult only because it contains scenes unsuitable for kids. All the business about court, not an epic but a period like drama about Henry VIII s son and so on and so on.

Son of Rambow

Yeah good movie. The kids are really good actors. I think the story panned out really well too. I was kind of thinking, oh no its going to be really cheesy because its a hollywood movie and the dialogue just flowed right along so i was smiling all the way through. def worth watching

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

awesome awesome wicked how star wars should be, they really need to release a new film like this, that was wicked. Going to watch it again for sure. I would now but I dunno,

Iron Man
Iron Man(2008)

I like this so far from what I have started watching doesn't look like it can go wrong. Excellent.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

I think its a really pretty film with lots of cool characters deserving film just for each of their lives. Its good for kids, with a good battle at the end. I guess if you took it a step further you could read the books which are even better.

Saw V
Saw V(2008)

Really good adventure movie. Lots going on and an interesting fantasy subject that is clear and understandable.

The Scorpion King 2
½

Good film for fun and nice story and landscapes. Interesting, and cool character. good fighting scenes on par with any martial arts film released in hollywood these days. Most fantasy films don't make use of what is on offer and just cram 2 hours full of suprise and really clever concepts about really really stupid things with no relevance to fantasy fans out there. This was quite a solid fantasy film and could have been better with different casting of the undead queen. Special FX weren't impresive

The Medallion
½

Funncy and cheerful light hearted kung fu movie with jack chan, lee evans and the really good looking claire forlani (meet joe black)

The International

Probably the film I have been waiting to see for a long time and didn't know it. So much of this is relevant to the ideas popping up in all our arguements, all the world news and how Europeans aren't a power just many seperate powers. If you like Bad Boys but hate cliche then watch this. There is some point where you think, "this is been going on for a while, when will it end" but its like a work of art to your movie going experience. P.S- Don't let the man fool you.

Happy-Go-Lucky
½

Films like this have to be made to document our current times and record the era we live in.So future generations can just see how stupid we all really are. Its a good film, upbeat, no action but plenty of acting to the thesbian degree I guess. Some will like some will hate but its okay.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

This films story and production must have been done before in Europe and for that its nothing new or riveting its still a jaw opener and worth while film to spend your time and watch when there is little else to do.

Into the Wild

The music is some of the best put on a movie of times. The camera and cinematography ropes you in on one mans adventure. Wished it lasted much much longer. Wish it was real.

Run Fatboy Run

Aha, very cliche comedy and funny , some good characters and the actors fit. All well put together with a good backdrop and important English event . Made me laugh, made me cry, made me not want to quit and die...

There Will Be Blood
½

I fell in love with mining and now I see this film I was drawn to it. I just found it interesting, controversial and a little silly (in a adult way) Of course the priest drew too much attention for me, it ended all a little off the ball and with a little "cheesy" story it could have been a happy ending. But other factors raised the standard. I like the journey of success, the mining (would have liked to have seen more adventure)

American Gangster
½

Potential but then again I found a fish tank to be more fun. This wasn't here nor there and extremely boring. If you like drugs then do the real thing. If you like guns then play a computer game and if you like this film see a shrink. You might have problems.

A lot better than I was expecting. After watching a couple of awful movies I got this just to see Jaime Pressly from 'my name is earl' but clearly got sucked into the Narators and main character objective critisism and self loathing of the rules between men and women.

Persepolis
Persepolis(2007)

aw i really liked this it was very cute and comforting to know that yanks aren't the rulers of propoganda, and that one little Iranian woman can voice her views and opinions to a world wide audience. Fully animated (see cover art) so wait for the right time to watch

The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters

This is a funny and relevant movie documentary that follows Steve Wiebe ( a real guy and not an actor ) and his out of the blue desire to become the world champion..... of Donkey Kong. If you don't know what DK is, then don't even watch this film.

P.S. I Love You

I got bored with this film instantly and although i would probably enjoy it on a different day. I found myself skipping chapters and just watching the ending. Kind of crap and very girly.

27 Dresses
27 Dresses(2008)

Quite a sappy and really wet film about some really poor guys who gets pawned and then married by a girl who knows about weddings. Just my perspective of it. The main character was really revolting at the end and I kind of said I would never marry a woman like that. gross chick flick.

The Eye
The Eye(2008)

Standard film but wouldn't say that I could call it scary more on the occult side of things, but yeah it was well acted and reasonable.

Once Bitten
Once Bitten(1985)

Awesome 80s soundtrack like 3-speed and various other bands i have never heard of, but really really dig that music. Jim Carey can dance? wow! and he is sooo young its awesome to see that some of his potential is released in that film. Quite a great film if you love Carey from going to this to the majestic, wow! The film is alright, I wouldn't suggest anyone that did not live in the 80s to watch, but if you liked Nightmare on elm street and you will probably love this. I guess tho if it wasn't for jim carey or lauren hutton i wouldn't have watched this fiilm.

DOA: Dead or Alive

Had it not been for three very beautiful and extremely fit ladies and some funny lines in the scipt i doubt this film would have been released, i didn't even watch the end once I guessed Tina wasn't going to win the competition, who knows what happens, and do i really care? no

Australia
Australia(2008)

Better than I thought because the kid was great and the scenery and landscape were really great.

Babylon A.D.
Babylon A.D.(2008)

I'm thinking because of some of the CGI this film looks a lot better than it might have been, true the acting isn't great and some of the action is a bit vehicle orientated i think its pretty enjoyable.

Slumdog Millionaire

Really interesting, fun and adventurous film which gets a bit scary at parts and i was very happy they didn't make it any more controversial because it puts it into a high class category as a brilliant film since its not just a blockbuster hit, its really good.

Kung Fu Panda

Funny film and a good kung fu film seeing as it is for kids. I think most adults will enjoy too. Great for anytime and perhaps with the sound down too as its got some awesome awesome CGI . The actors are a mix of hollywood stars, including Angelina Jolie and the little master, not the turtle was Dustin Hoffman but I'm sure that little dude reminded me of someone else.

The Dark Knight

very very cool joker is great so is batman but i really preferred the older Tim Burton films, they were really mch more fun.

Batman Begins

all the batman films are great, really likeable.

Batman & Robin

again very good batman movie great costumes on alicia and uma, they really hug the skin, lol

Batman Forever

I really liked this movie it took a while for me to actual get around to watch it tho.

Batman Returns

okay well you got me , the last film had the joker in and not the penguin this one has the penguin and yes... CATWOMAN, the one reason to put a smile on my face. lol

Batman
Batman(1989)

Stars the penguin if i am not mistaken and a really dark dark fairy tale of a gotham city much different from that of the latest film, where as the city is very much like new york city. This is the best !

The Incredible Hulk

If your eighteen odd and have a passion for comics, stories, super heroes action all of the above or any of the actors in this film including a really good performance by Edward Norton (just when doesn't he shine???) then you will like this film and what a twist in the ending I didn't see that coming. Watch it !

Rambo (Rambo IV)

Never seen a rambo movie before, i know!?! but didn't really want to see one after because the story was THAT good. But saying that, there is plenty of combat, stiff heroic characters, and flirty war lines which made it fun for me

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
½

Yeah I like the juggling of songs between the characters and the costumes and scenes are cool too. But I mean this is the nicest way, I just wasn't very interested.

Happy Feet
Happy Feet(2006)
½

Kids film firstly, but the animation is truely awesome and i mean that, really cool scenes ...aamazin' and some of the jokes are actually funny, but the tap dancing penguin?? hmm perhaps you have to watch it more than once.

District B13 (Banlieue 13)
½

View some parkour and advanced combat aswell as a series of weapons, set in the future of a Paris suburb, something like La Haine but the DVD I watched had a dubbed version which was actually kinda cool, like some old dubbed Chinese Kung Fu Movie. Bad storyline.

Ghost Town
Ghost Town(2008)

Ricky Gervais is a tired man with a long life to live, and how he deals with new friends and problems that he can't accept. Try this DVD for some fun adult humour suitable for the children too

Role Models
Role Models(2008)

I think the LARP is falling short in movies and it kind of succeeds for some reasons in this film, the quick fire dialogue fires it up and the swearing helps maintain order. Should a comedy really need much logic, just watch it if you like the trailer.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets
½

Again I watched this and liked it, funny, interesting, adventurous, cunning and not too much of an information overload. The kids will enjoy but expect lots of questions about science and history afterwards.

National Treasure
½

The film is good, it is fun, slightly educational, interesting, entertaining, good for the children and has things to keep the parents interested

You Got Served

yeah its good the dance is well choreographed. Lil Kim look like she should be in rehab though and step up to the street and honey are better dance films

Step Up 2 the Streets

Just watched this the other day, i would watch this again no doubt. Everything fits together really well as a film should be. Its magic, entertaining, really good !

Wonderful Days

Aw this is pretty good animation with a very noticeable clash of good vs evil from the two lead characters. Recommended.

Saw IV
Saw IV(2007)
½

the aim of their game was to work together and to help keep all five alive, unlike "survival of the fittest", as they had all thought is a running theme through the Saw movies that shows in Saw V. Unfortunately or Fortunately you have to watch I, II, III, and V for Saw IV to make any sense. Lyric Bent is good in this film and so is Wahlberg. Shame how they both character die and the Jigsaw killer continues.

Saw III
Saw III(2006)

What I didn't like about Saw II was the ending. And this film (if you can concentrate through all the victims blood loss) really ties that up, along as you understand a few moral dilemmas that are faced you could enjoy this.

Saw II
Saw II(2005)

This continues the Saw plot of a serial killer exacting brutal deaths on victims by what he gives as their own decisions, a film very reminiscent of "Seven" starring Brad Pitt, yet continuing for five extra films (yes supposedly there will be a SAW VI) If you watch Saw then there is no real reason really to watch II, III, IV, and V but if you do watch those watch them in order and watch them all.

Saw
Saw(2004)

Horror thriller, no monsters just a serial killer who likes to play "games" or torturous contraptions that leave victims to push their limits yet use their brains. This is the first film can be viewed as an independent movie.

Diary of the Dead

I love Zombie films most of them, and this is the worst, compare to other George Romeros films this is just boring, perhaps i like 28 weeks later much more this is really slow film and the consistent bad character, phony dialogue and VCR styled video shots are in poor taste.

Atonement
Atonement(2007)

Great Film. Really intelligent and really funny in a cringy type of way.

The Covenant
The Covenant(2006)

Cool spooky fraternity movie about a group of males with magical powers, very simular to 'the craft' but a little let down by over dramatic fight scenes and use of extra ordinary magical powers.

Superbad
Superbad(2007)

Really crass. Some of the jokes I noticed WERE made for people under 14 its how the director wants it, the jokes are lame and although the character loveable that really sums the whole film up. Worth watch for Christopher Mintz-Plasse who plays almost a seperate movie in itself within. Very amusing

Ratatouille
Ratatouille(2007)
½

Pretty good. Little dull story to be honest but put that aside and you have world class animation and really effective acting by the rat. Who basically steals the whole movie in terms of attention and entertainment in my eyes.

Sex and the City

I am rating this 4 instead of 5. Its a great film because its well shot, funny and has a good dialogue. Negatives are it might only appeal to people interested in sex. So thats all of us then ! It misses important issues and focuses on the high society that 70% of the worlds population will find hard to fathom let alone actually witness. But having visited New York myself its seems interesting enough and I like the fashion show in the film. Its not everyones cup of tea, but they all look great, and I think the film will last the test of time because its very well executed and based on a solid, funny and hip show.

Doomsday
Doomsday(2008)

Apocolyptic movie directed by Neil Marshall statting Bob Hoskins. Very violent and a mix of mad max, twenty eight weeks later and a strange but good violent film.

Cabin Fever
Cabin Fever(2002)

This was an okay film, its supposed to be a horror? More like a comedy, not to be taken seriously perhaps, I wouldn't watch this again.

Dreamcatcher
Dreamcatcher(2003)

Stephen Kings novel to the bigscreen (depending on what size tv you have of course) its good, and pretty hard to follow.

Pride
Pride(2007)

Swim films make good pick me up films with a very sporting motif underlying the movie pitch. Slightly let down in the fact that it was about this, haha, but still 4 stars for being good.

In the Hands of the Gods

Cool docu-drama come teen entrepreneurs hitting the football bug across america to eventually meet their hero. Well done

Elizabeth: The Golden Age
½

Excellent costumes and good attempt at period drama, and i mean that in light that it touched as a historical documentary also. Good plot, and enough acting to deam worthy to watch again.

Mr. Bean's Holiday

Hahaha. So subtle, clever and very well done. Mr Bean is so hilarious

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Maybe I just loved this in the cinema, and waited a little longer after the rush to watch this film to savour it. Luckily I was informed of no spoilers and sat through the film enjoying every second. I was completey absorbed from the very start and will watch again some day.

Earthsea
Earthsea(2004)

Enchanting plot and re-watchable, definately. Interesting animation but unfortunately the dubbing and voice actors let it down considerably. I mean really, is that how they speak? But good none the less.

Elektra
Elektra(2005)

Enjoying film if you enjoy American Kung fu films, may appeal more to the Chuck Norris type rather than the comic buff.

Epic Movie
Epic Movie(2007)

This was a big budget movie basically ripping off any movie it could, well thats how it should be. Unfortunately, tho' comedy, it was not really subtle enough and did not accomodate for all films. Perhaps one to watch another day, or not.

I Am Legend
I Am Legend(2007)

Amazing Direction of Will Smith in the third attempt of this film which was great. A real thriller with entertaining and fun values added in aswell.

Swimming Pool
½

Gets a bunch of stars for storyline but doesn't really fit in to any mode of the scene which is all the rave in any person fucking mouth. Right? Fuck off

Juno
Juno(2007)
½

I just finished watching this tonight at the cinema with my dad, and I am a bloke but yet I found this entertaining, indulging, and very interesting, much better than a lot of the cack that is put together by two monkeys who think they can write entertaining scripts. This was a great film

Hogfather

Camp Nowhere
Camp Nowhere(1994)

This is what youth is all about, some people like Goonies but I like this one better. Its just very cool and clean

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Fantastic Film because its sticks to what a good comic is, entertaining and draws you in. Your kids may want to know all about the FF4 after this film. The villians are by far the best villians in any comic book to movie adaptation. Cool ?

Honey
Honey(2003)

Oh yeah this is pretty good, I saw it in the cinema with my mum, and we enjoyed it. Its modern and lots of dance moves and positivity ! !

Into the Blue

Gorgeous location probably destroyed through making this film, hope not surely not, it looks a great place to dive, and this movie is a bit of a thriller too and quite clever for the most part. Just wish there were was more footage of the ocean and fishies and less of Paul Walker

Tremors
Tremors(1990)

Cool fantasy sci fi horror in the dessert, surviving monster attack

Sleepy Hollow

Cool Horror tale and well acted and directed.

Children of Glory

Interesting foreign film but definately worth a peek if foreign sports films could give you have nice evening.

Aladdin
Aladdin(1992)

Great movie, I love the genie, aladin is my favourite but Jasmines dad is very funny too.

Shooters
Shooters(2001)

Pure English Gangster. Something radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood would be hoping to watch. The film is nail biting, black, and twisted. No CGI included just guns, baseball bats, and gritted golf clubs. More guns, and a bit of drugs, and prostitutes. Wish you weren't here!

Blood Diamond

Emotionally charged and yet entertaining. I don't know if this was written with Di Caprio in mind as it does lend itself to his acting formula. Yet is politically contemporary with the info needed about countries in civil war. The RUF is something we brits are aware of, and is Di Caprio a favourite for Europeans after starring in Titanic. The other actors were real. The plot believable the storyline maybe a little extended for any ordinary human bean, yet a good two hours spent in my books. Heightens your awareness!

The History Boys

The story is probably based on some old piece of literature, but is actually about some boys at grammar school learning for there exam, its quite funny, and educational too, its not about rebellion, but its pretty good for adults.

Oliver!

Sometime in the near future, anarchy has broken out in Japan. The government has to act. On the way to what a class of 14-year-olds believe is a school trip, they are drugged. When they wake up, in a derelict building on a deserted island, they're each given enough provisions for three days and a weapon.

Basic Instinct

I prefer the second film , but this thriller tease movie will have you on the edge of your seats.

Basic Instinct 2

Nobody seems to like this film calling it simply embaressing is close but not quite the remark I think of when seeing this film. Its a decent censored thriller, but all over the place, easy to pick up on.

Bamboozled
Bamboozled(2000)
½

Spike Lee's film is certainly a fascinating premise. A satire of network television's pitfalls and prejudices, a peek into the way blacks have been represented historically in the media, and the ways in which they have sought to redress the cultural balance (there's a neat look at an extremist hip-hop collective) - it's certainly the nucleus for a meaty and much needed discourse.

Army of Darkness
½

Whereas the second installment of Sam Raimi's "The Evil Dead" series was little more than a stylish remake of his original low budget gore-fest showcasing a director of great promise, "Army of Darkness" ventured further into almost Pythonesque territory. In 1985 Raimi had worked with the Coen Brothers on "Crimewave", which shares this film's violent slapstick, but eight years later he was showing none of the maturity he would bring to bear on "A Simple Plan" and "The Gift".

American Psycho

"American Psycho" is partly a full-bodied, punchy thriller, and primarily an excellent character study of a narcissistic, amoral 80s Wall Street money maker. Christian Bale plays Patrick Bateman, a label-obsessed hard nut who finally experiences a crisis that almost devours him.

Definately recommended although I prefered 12 monkeys.

Amélie
Amélie(2001)

I like french movies, but this wasn't a superb one, although its very funny, worth watching but I wouldn't recommend.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

This was so strange, and dull, nothing worth spending time t watch. It was sad film at times, but just different and unique.

Keeping Mum
Keeping Mum(2006)

Well if you want to watch this film then you will enjoy it, its humourus and just a bit dull. Then how about watching a chapter a day?

Ali G Indahouse

Pass this one to your girlfriend and she gonna laugh with you but warning not everyone will like this and in years to come people will look back in horror at this movie.

The Guardian

Great film, the same day I saw a coastguard helicopter fly past my bedroom window. Kinda relevant I think so

Bad Boys II
Bad Boys II(2003)

If you like the american show cops then you got to watch this. Watch it during the day when your awake or in the evening because you have to make the most of being awake at every shot, its truly incredible cinema.

Gladiator
Gladiator(1992)

I really liked this film, it was a good film that got better, and in the end failed to make me sad, good ending!

Boyz n the Hood
½

Great film but far from good xxx Its a bit cheesy to watch these days and is not really interesting unless you are from CA. SO I used to like this when I was young, but found too many simular black gangster films talking about the same things.

Son of the Mask

Very Outlandish and very funny if you know what children like

Shrek
Shrek(2001)
½

Great use of computers to create a magical comedy

An Inconvenient Truth

The non-friday night film, but would stretch to fit the criteria. Al Gore is not the president of the United States of America but did release a DVD about world pollution and spiralling decline of life in this earth. If you haven't done your geography homework for sometime I really recommend this DVD, if you are a studying Geoligist, Botanist, or Aqua Marine Student then you have seen and know it all.

La Haine
La Haine(1996)
½

This film kicks your feet up at the turn of the Paris riots (the ones in 95 bro) and lends your ears to the sweet sound of french actors portraying a tightly nit friendship with twists and turns that portrays a gritty Paris. I can't see why anyone would like this film, and I say that because the film is directed with gusto (gusto a word describing the fast pace of urban life, not a a person) I think the closer you live to the heart of a city the more you will appreciate and like this movie. It doesn't cover every story in the city, but if compared to "red shoe diaries", then Matthew K would surely be able to contend blindfolded.

The Fifth Element

This is Bruce Willis' best acting in any movie. Luc B's Sci fi scenes incredibily help Brucey here perform, and Milla is a new actress that later went on to perform in "Resident Evil". I gave 5 stars. Watch it in the weekend for sure!

This is a kids film at best although should be watched by with an adult.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
½

Anchor yourself down on Friday night, on your own, with the kids, or the missus. *****star

28 Days Later

This is a great mid week zombie flick. Will keep you on the edge of your seat. Can be watched more than once! Humans vs Zombie combat fun set in London. Nice ending

Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End

After the credits there is a minute and a half of extra film footage. Happy Ending!

Miss Potter
Miss Potter(2007)

"stories don't always end where their author intended but their is joy where ever they take us"

If you liked Jane Austins Pride and Prejudice you would find this familuar.

English acted biography of quaint female painter and author who published a series of childrens books.

This film was supported by the Arts Council of England.

Nice film, nothing special because the books are better. DVD is a nice present for a girls birthday.

Flushed Away
Flushed Away(2006)

For boys who like follies, vices plus redicule and scorn.

Humour includes sarcasm, irony and wit.

Jokes every 3 seconds ! ! !

The Big Lebowski

This film is intended for an older mature audience which is very funny and uses the F word 10 times in every minute. Cohen is a good director. Nothing bad about the directing.

The Matrix Reloaded

The first film was basically all we wanted, yet we get two sequals that impressed nobody I know.

A Clockwork Orange
½

I read this book before seeing the film. I first saw the film in the cinema on re-release. Not very good film. We tend to watch things we shouldn't, the saying curiousity killed the cat is most helpful for watching this film.

The language if you do not know is a russian slang, mixed with high class english. So it may seem a very foreign film even though it was directed by Stanley Kubrick. Filmed in England.

Good mid week film or friday night horror.

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back

Fun acventure sci-fi . Good for the fanboy.

Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi

Kinged the best of the star wars films. Will live up to the hype in a family audience

Léon: The Professional

Slightly under 5 stars I gave. This is good film namely I think it releases you into the real world but puts you in a story that you could never imagine happening to yourself. This is a good thing if you are grounded but a bad thing if you have no meaning in life (you might just start copy cat crimes). Films you might like: The Matrix, Falling Down.

28 Weeks Later...
½

Outstanding far better than 28 days later. This is the work of a different director, I watched this at night after work and it really added to the film. It was a different plot.

Illegal Aliens

This is a comic film genre. It teaches you one thing, that life is not so serious and you gotta lighten up just a little. Hollywood is too serious these days, and using Anna Nicole Smith as an iconic actress and some very humurous gags it suceeds in what i call a good film. Because its funny ! Basically good, low budget but funny for boys or gals.

World Trade Center

With a lot in the media in anti terrorism this is a sad film which will make you sit in front of your tv or plasma screen without worrying about objective political battles, tells the story how it is. I would really recommend watching this with the commentaries by the original fire fighters, very moving to the heart and soul.

The Da Vinci Code
½

Good crime thriller and not as dark as what is seen on BBC but yet it will need a bit more intelligence to understand the script and storyline. A bit of knowledge on religion and Di Vinci is needed, I would not bother showing this to anyone under 18. It was quite good, but you have to pay attention to the film for it to be worth it.

Species II
Species II(1998)

Ouch this was as bad as that film Street Fighter 2 movie that came out a long time ago. The non-exsisting acting is a bone cruncher, no real plot, no good script. I would recommend jumping of a cliff for a better time. Ouch.

Joseph: King of Dreams

I am 25 and loved this film. The animation is good where a disney animation might be 4 stars this is deserved a 4 star for animation. Cool Film !

Swimming Upstream

he story of a young man's struggle to gain his fathers love and approval.

As the most sensitive and brightest boy of a very large family, Tony tries to please his macho father who appears to be unimpressed by his academic prowess and only accepts sporting triumph as sucess.

Based-on-a-real-life film with stunning pool filming and good looking actors.

Swimmers will understand the pull that the pool has on Tony as he copes with his difficult life.

An inspiration to get back into serious swimming.

Guys and Dolls

Hey the reason you won't like this is because ITTTS TOOO OLD AND BORIING.. But I have found some very funny and entertaining movies which are much older than the films released these years. Its funny, its entertaining. Musical good singing.

Rocky Balboa
Rocky Balboa(2006)

Sly Stalone is not a great actor although a very charasmatic guy. A good actor for the character which developed through several movies. This is a long story compared to the first Rocky movie, and understand that its a effergy to Chicago too.

The Prince of Egypt
½

I was expecting more from this story, the central character is Moses, the animation is great, but the voice overs are too over bearing and unkind for a childrens movie which doesn't really present itself much of a bible story anyway.

Hot Fuzz
Hot Fuzz(2007)

Simon Pegg is back from Spaced, back from the dead, and into your will be quietly suprised how many twists and gruesome deaths you see in this movie.

The Stepford Wives

Updated, out of date cine-flick. Lavish storytelling with a sense of Adultery.

The Punisher
The Punisher(2004)
½

Good insight in to American Miami. Nice cars, Good Directing but flawed by acting skills. Fight scenes are not very violent. Suitable for 15-17 year olds.

Evil Aliens
Evil Aliens(2005)

Awww I disagree this movie is so good because:

It is shot well,
Its childishly funny,
Its got enough blood in it,
Its about crazy aliens,
Its original

Okay it could be compared to many a film, but until you watch it you will never know. Its two hours long.

The Sleeping Dictionary

This I never saw advertised in the cinema, but I watched it because of Jessica Albas recent fame. I would have expected it would have been a more popular film, its good, its fun, adult family film for the parents perhaps. Its a Romance.

La Femme Nikita (Nikita)

This film is supposed to have got great reviews when it first came out and yet it still lives up to it for a first time viewer 17 years later. I found the film interesting and very familuar to many of my other favourite hitman type films, most starring Jean Reno. His acting skills really develop his character throughout Hollywood. Unlike some half-assed actors. Its a great film, worth watching and recommended by many, with some twists and some hidden messages. Good adult fun.

TMNT
TMNT(2007)

I watched this in the cinema, and its not really a cine flick but I enjoyed it none the less. It made a good movie. But what I mean is I could watch this over again on DVD. Good for the kids or teenagers too.

The Simpsons Movie
½

The first time I watched this, today, Christmas day, I got this for a present. I enjoyed the animation tremendously, but there are lots of films that easy compete and do a much more competent job. I would say this film is aimed at "simpsons collectors" but it ended with me kind of feeling that I had wasted some time watching it, although I laughed, its almost our popular heritage and you don't have to watch this film to get a kick out of simpsons. If you evaluate the simpsons humour, so many gags are used in REAL LIFE, and can be much funnier than watching the movie. I think the creators didn't want to release this film, but thats my opinion from how long it took them to release it, and when they did release it just shot out to the cinemas. I would recommend many other films than this film. It was just a bit belated and made no difference to the fanbase.

A silly film your strange uncle may enjoy.

Scarface
Scarface(1983)

Its a great crime drama with Al Pacino.

The Incredibles

Cool CGI Effects, bad after affects. I waked out the cinema, My brain couldn't take the pressure.

I really liked this when I saw it in the winter, but not sure if the movie makes the same impact if you watch it in the summer time.

King Kong
King Kong(2005)

Jack Black is not as great in this film, but is not making this film what it is. Watch out for the Gorilla, he's the real star!

The Longest Yard

Cool story, makes bad comedy though.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Fantasy based Movie, better than Dungeons and Dragons.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

Better in original book format, Good Screenplay. Would be good in the theatre.

Titanic
Titanic(1997)

8 Mile
8 Mile(2002)

Men in Black
Men in Black(1997)

Watch it once, twice or three times because its so cool.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

I haven't seen this in a while, but I love the adrenalin, the camera shots and the one line answers, or were they questions. Thats indy saving his butt again. DR JONES !

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

The first in an opera of movies. Except the singing,

Under Siege
Under Siege(1992)

Corny? Impossible? Yeah but good action flik for any real man who wants to fight for his honour and Miss July.

Scourge of Worlds - A Dungeons & Dragons Adventure

Give it time, and I mean be patient, I would love to have seen more paths but I am taking my time with this. Its good.

The Interpreter
½

Sean Penn substanital acting holds poor old N.Kidman in place as an actress, the story, sad and shocking.

Appurushîdo (Appleseed)

No faults in this CGI cyber punk Mecha Film, If you like that kind of thing of course.

Open Season
Open Season(2006)

Get over the fact that its more hip hop piled in to a film (only the voices though) and the rest is very funny. Would be nice if they released the film in two different voice over variations . I just wish they did.
