Willem Dafoe is excellent in this film as Martin the hunter searching for the Tasmanian Tiger which is thought to be extinct. The scenery in Tasmania is beautiful..... but somehow this film fails. Weak supporting cast and a film that could have been better with a stronger script.
Weak and cliche filled storyline and a waste of good talent.
In this family drama, a white Southerner discovers that his family history isn't what he thought it was -- with the fact that he's half-black only one of his many surprises. A real enjoyable film. Robert Duvall (Earl Pilcher Jr.)and James Earl Jones (Ray Murdoch) are excellent as the two half brothers as well as Irma P. Hall as the loveable Aunt "T"
I totally enjoyed this film about starting over in a small town in Maine by a young girl with a checkered past. A 1996 Sundance Film Festival award winner.
Mixed feelings about this film. Although quite enjoyable in some ways I had trouble with the plot line which seemed a bit too far fetched for me. It left me bewildered at the end.
