The cinematography was an interesting choice. Although it's a type of noir, Ridley decided to go with a washed out tone and play down the vibrance in a story about one of the most vibrant fashion brands in history.
It's just not enjoyable. They focused so much on executing the twists really well, that they forgot to review how clear the point of the plot was. Not to mention, the cinematography was downright dingy. It felt gloomy and dull almost the entire time, despite genuinely good execution.
