Well, you put together Oscar Isaac, Pedro Pascal and Ben Affleck in an action movie together, what could possibly go wrong? If I could complain about something I would like to point out that it took the Director took his time to set up the ambiance for the action to start and for some that may be considered as a slow pace movie, especially for an action movie but it's a likable movie and you will enjoy watching it any other Sunday.
I really enjoyed the tone and the pace that the Director set in motion, Brian Cox did an amazing job portraying the county's forensic and the rest of the supporting cast performances didn't disappoint.
For someone who was not familiar with the history behind the videogame, this turned out to be a good experience for me and my family, the CGI animation was good and Jim Carrey did a pretty good job impersonating this villain who I'm not sure is part of the videogame saga or was just a role developed for this movie. All I can say is that this movie is for young and old people, I understand that some people may not like it but some of the critics' reviews were just given in bad faith in my opinion.
The plot premise seemed interesting, unfortunately, the writer and the director made some poor choices developing one of the character's arc, those parts were poorly written and of course, the actors were affected with bad dialogues. If you ignore certain portions of the movie, you end up having an enjoyable movie.
After reading some reviews I would like to say that this movie is not that bad, the dialogues are pretty fluid and the continuity of the film is good. This story has been told multiple times in so many different ways, so there's really nothing new but unlike other B movies, the director did a pretty decent job giving the film an adequate pace and the acting is not bad at all, it's obvious that this movie is not going to win any awards but it's likable and you can have a good time watching it.
