Overlong to make not to much of a point. I kept waiting for something to happen. It was more of a character study than anything else but even the "reveal" at the end was overtly boring. Almost put me to sleep. Elizabeth Moss was great though as was the supporting cast. Grade A acting and Grade F writing.
Yes this is a good movie. The decisiveness seems to stem over the length of the movie and not living up to the original. There was no way that was going to happen anyway.
And while the movie probably should have been 20 minutes or so shorter I understand what they were trying to squeeze in.
IT: Chapter 2 is scary in places, just not as scary as the first movie. I think to often it gives a PG-13 horror vibe only to then try and scare you. It just shifts gears to much and isn't always sure what it's going for. That said yes it still has it's scary moments.
Throw in each member of the losers having to "find" their memories of the past and trying to lay out exactly (kind of) what IT actually is doesn't help the movie's run time. Although I was never bored.
The ending is what you'd expect... or not lol. As the movie plays with King's penchant for "bad endings" of his books. Although not the superior movie of the 2 it does a good job of closing out the series, because let's face it... IT could have been terrible with everything that still needed to be squeezed in.
