I can't quite put my finger on why, but this movie was just ok. I was hopeful it would be enjoyable, but it felt tedious for most of it. Timon & Pumbaa were a delight, but there wasn't too much else to get excited about. It felt too long ( 30 mins more than the cartoon but with no extra action) and unfortunately, just kinda unnecessary.
I am so sad to say how little I enjoyed this sequel. I got into the 1st movie late in the game, but its so brilliantly executed! There are some fun cameos in this new movie, and some sweet moments, but Ralph's endless neediest gets exhausting and hard to watch. Far less laughs than the original, and just not as cohesive a film.
I went in with cautious optimism, and it ended up being really great! Yes, Genie looks a bit odd at first, but you get over that quickly, and you understand why they decided to have him look that way. Will Smith did a fantastic job. He was funny and clever, making the character his own, which was a big feat in the shadow of Robin Williams. The music was outstanding and it was visually stunning as well. 2 thumbs way up!
As a huge Paul Walker fan, I couldn't believe I hadnt seen this movie yet, so I was excited to watch. Woof. There is pretty much nothing enjoyable about this film. The plot never really takes off, yet there is too much going on. The characters aren't ones you want to root for either. Susan is a gem, so some of her scenes are ok, but overall this is a massive snooze fest.
Somehow I made it 16 years without seeing this, and it was a simpler time. I find Sandra Bullock always sweet and charming, but even she couldn't save this waste of time. The plot is so thin, neither of these characters make you want to root for them, and you are given VERY little evidence that they should be together! Snooze fest all around.
