The Edge of Seventeen

2.5 stars. Mark really loved it. I thought that it was one of those unfortunate films that would have been better had the trailer not shown all of the funny bits in advance.

Arrival (2016)

I think that nearly all of the motifs and themes were ripoffs of Slaughterhouse Five. It was too easy to predict, and parts were BORING.

3.5 stars. This got pretty horrible reviews, but I laughed a lot. I wouldn't watch it again, but it was funny.

2 stars. Did anyone else see this? I'm a little torn. Parts were great, parts were slow AF. On a positive note, it definitely was an original concept, which is admirable in this day and age. I liked the message it's trying to give regarding not being afraid to be your authentic self, but sometimes I thought the movie was just pretty dumb or too weird.
