The Exception (The Kaiser's Last Kiss)
40 days ago via Rotten Tomatoes

The Exception is a well made espionage/romantic thriller, set during WWII. A Nazi soldier (Jai Courtney) heads to a Kaiser Wilhelm II's (badass Christopher Plummer) mansion in the Netherlands where he meets a lovely house maid (the gorgeous Lily James). If you like BBC type, espionage filled dramas with a side of passion, than The Exception is for you.

Alien: Covenant
4 months ago via Rotten Tomatoes

This is a rehash/reboot of the original Alien/Aliens. Much like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it wasn't very inventive or fantastic... nor was it terrible. Generally speaking, it's a gorgeously made film, with solid acting, & fantastic effects. But is it bad that I could guess the ending about an hour in? Yeah, probably... So, unless you're a die hard Alien fan, you shouldn't be too worried about catching this film on DVD or streaming instead of in the cinema. [3.499 Stars]

Lockout (2012)

Sure, it's cliche but it's got all the Bessonesque requirements: a quick pace, over the top characters and tons of solid action. Leave your mind at the door but enjoy the guns & explosions.

Solid performances make this complex story palatable.

I don't think I've ever seen a western horror film, that is until now. It's violent, gruesome and downright strange but the great actors make it palatable. If you like simple westerns with a bit of horror on the side, then this one is for you. Warning: Watch on an empty stomach... or hours before or after you eat, you know, like swimming.
