- Over the years I have developed a love for film. Not going into detail, but I hope to pursue a career in it one day :D Tim Burton is, without a doubt, my biggest inspiration in film- to take so many risks in what he does and to maintain his incredible streak of creativity throughout all of his work is something I truly admire. Johnny Depp is the actor on the top of my list, not because he has stunning looks (although I won't deny it, he does) but for his pure talent, his modesty and his choices of brilliant cinema. I'm a massive fan of the whole Tim-Johnny collective, if you hadn't already guessed. I adore anything with a deep, emotional meaning. My love for those films was triggered after I'd watched The Wave, it really opened my eyes to the power of cinema. Since then I have realised that a lot of my favourite films such as Chocolat, Finding Neverland and What's Eating Gilbert Grape? also carry that subtle sentimental value which I seem to fall in love with. I have acquired a love for visual films. I'm beginning to appreciate set design and filming on location, animation and things as such. Ok, well not so much on the animation films, but animation IN films. I'll watch a good old comedy like Stir Crazy and laugh so hard until my stomach hurts, but I'm not so much for the 21st century comedies. I love 80s films- Back to the Future, Gremlins, The Goonies to name a few of my favourites. Having said that, I adore silly comedies such as Austin Powers and the randomness of Cat in the Hat (despite it's awful reviews) which are of course more recent. I'm not so big on the horror side of things, or anything that is based around gun fighting (however I do like a good Sean Connery James Bond). On the subject of violence, until recently I had never really taken an interest in war films; The Hurt Locker changed that. That's me and films in a nutshell. (Or to quote Mike Myers "Help! I'm in a nutshell [with films], how did I get in this giant nutshell?!") I recently went to the world premiere of Alice in Wonderland in London, stood around for 8 hours. And yes. I met Johnny. Yes. THE Johnny Depp. I think I died.
