I watched this movie for a second time. I love the movie characters of crowe and pacino - they are brilliant....and if any of their actions are a reflection of what happened in real life - then they were two truly amazing courageous men.
michael mann did a beautiful job directing this inspiring film.
Oh boy...this to me is the darker side of American movies...questionable ethics - the idea that in toughening up one will "find oneself" - and that the way to stop being a helpless victim in society is by taking a stand with violence ie..learning to use a gun.
...slick, action-driven, violent - watchable but ...disturbing.
umm....didn't read the credits before i started watching and spent most of the movie wondering whether the screenwriter had carried out the secret act the heroine was worried about confessing...
i didn't find the movie all that funny - and didn't feel like the ending worked.
