Based on an old Russian story, Mel Brooks packed a nice comedy, portraying human selfishness and greed, increased by the changed conditions in the just established Soviet Union.
A scene reminded me Sergio Leone's The good, the bad, and the ugly.
This very interesting meta movie takes our attention on some more or less hidden topics inside a good set of movies. Despite the clean and Slavonic English used by Zizek, you might need to watch it over and over, to get all the infos you have from it.
Absolutely brilliant :) full of slapstick and completely silent... No, that's lie: there's one spoken word in the movie, and it was pronounced by... Marcel Marceau!
If you're 35 or more, and have the will of laughing as you were toddler, don't miss this movie. Than, if as me you're a newsstander, you won't absolutely miss it: there's room for you too.
Nice comedy about early days of a famous sport. Very nice and attractive Clooney, he acted often as in old and mute comedies. Some particulars didn't convinced me, but the movie is nice, and well shot and reconstructed. It is worth the rent.
