I am a big fan of Pixar, but these last few years, I wasn't really excited with their movies, mostly because they were focusing on sequels (with the exception of Toy Story 3). Brave and Monster University were still pretty good, especially visually, but I watched those only once, while I watched the others multiple times (except Cars, it's my least favorite).
So, I almost didn't watch Inside Out. I had to drag myself to see it, but I am glad I did. Pixar is BACK! I didn't want to spoil too much, but this is the smartest (in term of storytelling) from Pixar yet. I think the adult will learn valuable lesson while the kids will enjoy the visual. I couldn't even imagine how they made this movie, it's such a complex story, but still manage to grab you emotionally (Pixar DOES know best in this category) and yet still entertaining and a fun movie to watch.
Inside Out was directed by Pete Docter (who directed my favorite Pixar, Up) and scored by Michael Giacchino, who is also one of my favorite movie composer. He was also responsible for beautiful music from Up as well. So, what a combo, right?
As I walked out from the theater, I thought it's a great movie and I was going to give it four out of five stars, but this morning I woke up and I thought this movie is a another Pixar's masterpiece and it deserved five stars. So, the more I think about it, the more I appreciate it. So, please do yourself a favor and go see it
