One of the best American action movies I have ever seen. The fighting was gritty and real and there are so many jaw dropping moments, it was almost hard to keep track. Fantastically entertaining.
The Last Jedi was the worst-written movie of the Star Wars movie franchise. It broke Canon throughout, was devoid of even basic logic, and had absolutely no continuity with the Force Awakens. The attempts at humor were horrendous and showed that Rian Johnson had no clue as to appropriate tone. The movie had galaxy-wide plot holes and even a moment of serious thought leads to head-shaking realizations as to how terribly written this movie was.
This movie was made for Ryan Reynolds. As Wade Wilson, they let his motormouth run fast and free, to hilarious effect. Yes, the movie is profane and NOT for anyone under the age of 18, but the end result is wildly fresh and laugh-filled.
This is the Deadpool I never thought I would ever see on the big screen, a movie for fans, with no apologies. Morena Baccarin is as stunning as ever, the perfect casting call, and TJ Miller is just right, as the hilarious jerk friend that we all have.
On the strength of its cast, especially Reynolds, this movie delivers the comic kick to the goods that a movie based on the Deadpool comic should. Like the comic too, the humor is working on many different layers: sight gags, easter eggs, and even Archer-esque deep-reach jokes that make references that maybe only a handful of audience members may understand, but no matter, the next joke is only seconds away. And when Deadpool delivers that joke that only you and few others get, it feels like the movie was made just for you.
One of my all time favorite movies.
