This is a great combination of dry wit and silly humor that made Flight of the Conchords so enjoyable. How this one flew under the radar for me for so long is a mystery. It's worked out pretty well for Taika Waititi (i.e. Thor: Ragnarok) and Jemaine Clement though. Highly recommended!
Where do I even start? So much wasted potential. There was a wealth of source material to draw from, every opportunity to have the story take its time building a world and developing characters, while telling a compelling story that stands on its own two feet. Instead, we get a super condensed "Dark Tower Lite" that squished 8 books into 90 minutes as an attempt to start a franchise, all the while forgetting to make a good movie that actually makes one lick of sense. Genuinely disappointed. But, the single glimmer of hope is that the movie may spark some curiosity about the books, and may compel some to pick them up and discover the rich, complex adventure that is The Dark Tower.
