Bai she chuan shuo (The Sorcerer and the White Snake)

Really dragged out with tons of unnecessary scenes and lingering especially on the cheap CGI for what feels like hours at a time, but the central love story had a nice conclusion. The actors sell it as much as they could have.

patrick dempsey: eh. james marsden: awesome.

27 Dresses
27 Dresses(2008)

am i the only one who thinks there's no chemistry between the two leads? and the storyline was a bit ridiculous, even for a chick flick. i like the respective actors though, which is a shame.

well, the uhh.. effects were cool. plot? interesting concept, but beyond that.. very sloppily held together. and there's almost no character development. more of a guy movie.

V for Vendetta

illustrates very well the beauty of liberty. LOVED hugo weaving in this role.

The Illusionist

jessica biel looks really natural here. i was impressed by the twist in the ending, and giamatti's acting. the "illusions" were also rather impressive. overall an entertaining and worthwhile few hours.

Miss Potter
Miss Potter(2007)

renee zellweger overacts a hell lot, but ewan mcgregor saves the show. charming plot.

The Time Machine

"EMMA!" xD 'tis the new stella.

Kate & Leopold

meg ryan is annoying here, but hugh jackman takes center stage w/o trying. typical chick flick.

unfortunately, throwing a bunch of plots together doesn't make a whole. and everything that it copies from other movies, has been done before and better.

New York Minute

juvenile and tries too hard. not to mention that they both look like anorexic gothic owls.

The Devil Wears Prada

better than i expected. not amazing, but better than most. set out to dislike it, but the ending was very satisfactory. meryl streep steals the show.
