Matt's Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2
Harry has saved the best for last... Now, I am not one of those crazy Harry Potter fans. You know: the ones who have read all the books 12 times, go to the midnight premieres dressed up as Hogwarts students, and try to play quidditch in their backyard. But what I am, is a lover of great films. And this, my friends, was a great film. It's a thrilling conclusion to a series 8 movies and 10 years in the making, full of surprises, twists, payoffs, brilliantly crafted cinematography, and deeply emotional moments. Every actor in the film, it seems, have saved their best performances for this final chapter of the Harry Potter saga. "Deathly Hallows II" is prime character development 20 hours in the making. This is really the story of Harry, Ron, and Hermione making the final step into adulthood, from the small children we were introduced to at the beginning of "The Sorceror's Stone." When HPATDH 2's credits rolled and the lights in the theater came back up, the crowd started to applaud... I think they were satisfied. And rightly so.
