Matt's Review of The Odd Life of Timothy Green
"Timothy Green" is a very flawed film; it is built around a very beautiful premise, but undeniably fails to realize its full potential. The script is too thin, and the flashback style can be jarring and distracting... Yet, I can't really tell you why this film still found a special place in my heart.
Maybe it's because "Timothy" is a family film that was (or, at least aimed to be) something more than just trifling entertainment; a commentary on the joys and heartaches of parenthood. It may be a bit pretentious, schmaltzy, and border on corny; but I think parents and those who look forward to parenthood will look back on "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" in fondness.
