Silence (2017)

A powerful film that questions the faith & spirituality of Christianity, emotional and heart-breaking. I did not expect much of this film, and I was surprised by how great it is. Religiously-sensitive people, kindly avoid.

Ghost in the Shell

A visually beautiful film with a perfect cast and amazing soundtrack -- however, the film felt extremely held-down because of its PG-13 rating & suffered from some pacing issues. The original anime is a masterpiece (my 2nd favorite animated movie of all-time next to Princess Mononoke) while this live-adaption is great as its own -- expanding on the Major's origins & personality more than the original anime did, though still lacking in some parts. Here's hoping for a sequel.

Kong: Skull Island

Fast-paced & exhilarating, though some characters are just disappointing as they are only there as expendables. I'm definitely looking forward towards the throw-down between King Kong & Godzilla. Yes, the after-credits scene pretty much confirms it.

Logan (2017)
49 days ago via Rotten Tomatoes

X-men (Stewart & McAvoy timelines) & the previous Wolverine films will always be lackluster films to me, nothing special to them -- hated some of them even. Logan however, is the R-rated Wolverine I've always wanted to see happen. Violent, dark, and carries an emotional weight. Perfect.

John Wick: Chapter 2

As impressive as the prequel, hands down the best straight-up action movie to date. Keanu Reeves is born to be John Wick. A truly badass film.
