How did they convince Robert DeNiro to get involved in such complete and utter crap? Not cat-safe and sucks far too much to get away with that. (And yeah. Ridiculously predictable "twist")

It only took 10 years, but J and I have finally seen a movie in the theater that we both enjoyed. Miracles can happen ^_^ This really was a great movie. I haven't ready the book yet so can't compare, but the pace stayed going so it never felt like 2.25 hours, nothing was over the top and unbelievable, it was precisely perfectly cast for every role, the characters had the chemistry they should, there was the right mix of laughter in with the tension and intensity, we really did both thoroughly enjoy it.

Ant-Man (2015)

This movie took my Star Wars preview virginity and made me cry before the movie even started. I've been avoiding that trailer so hard I can't even tell you. And then I'm looking at R2-D2 and Chewbacca and HAN SOLO on the big screen again and hysterical tears commence and I still just don't even know how to deal with that movie. Gah! But Ant-Man was good. I never noticed how pretty Paul Rudd's eyes were before. The guy I went with was disappointed because too many people told him how just amazing it was and it didn't live up. I try to not hear or read or see things about movies I know I'm gonna wanna see anyways so went in with no expectations other than Marvel is always fun. And it was fun. It would've been more fun without Evangeline Lily, but admittedly I hated her less in this than in anything I've seen previously. I think it's missing a star from me because I'm no big fan of CGI (I get it, more seamless than a green screen over close up footage of thousands of well trained ants, I just don't enjoy the style) and I found its glaringly obvious uses to be overwhelming, and additionally there just weren't any plot points that weren't immensely obvious they were coming before hand. Except maybe the tank. And I was very upset about Ant deaths. Even knowing they were coming because I'm of the generation traumatized by Honey I Shrunk the Kids. But kudos on not killing any lambs.

well. that was a lot of bodily fluids and excretions. The one and only other person in the theatre really seemed to enjoy Chris Hemsworths penis though, so extra half star for the creepy guy experience.

Huh. I saw TV was showing a Bruce Willis movie I'd never heard of and thought "wow, that's got to really suck to never have even been mentioned, but hey, Bruce Willis!" and it was actually decently entertaining. It could've benefiting from being significantly more cohesive, and I admittedly forgot I was watching it during a commercial break and didn't see how it actually ended, but it was mostly enjoyable. If Bruce had had a buddy it could've passed for an 80s action movie.
