This atrocity is what happens when you take a lore then subsequently remove every aspect of that lore. I could care less that this film is the offspring of a sappy romance and pixies, but this film has left a black eye on the true classics like "Nosferatu."
It is evident that some people believe that vampire lore should have no structure. I would argue that you can look at the origin of the character as created for military purpose by Vlad the Impaler, which painted hell spawns that lack humanity and only want to slaughter humans. Hollywood has indeed built on these archetypes painting more colorful characters, but they did not corrupt the foundation (at least to this extent). My only regret is I can't rate this any lower.
The pager scene is quite possibly one of the greatest "no point" part of a cheese horror flick to date.
The greatest cheese horror of all time.
