The box said it was “Thelma and Louise with penetration!” I thought that was metaphor, but it has real hardcore sex scenes and that fake looking violence. It’s a low-budget sexploitation film about two birds who are feed up with the world and makes the world feel their pain by going on a killing spree. VERDICT: this movie is garbage.
The Killing of the Sacred Deer is a film that's definitely NOT for everyone, due to fact it's unsettling demonic nature, uncomfortably laugh-out-loud funny moments with touches of dead-pan violence just to keep things interesting. It's fable, satire, horror, psychological -thriller, comedy with nods to magical realism that does an in-depth examination on the nature of "evil", revenge and human depravity. The Killing of a Sacred Deer is possibly the most ambitious movie I seen since Lobster, but where all absurdity pays off in climatic finale that justifies all the uncontrollable moment(s) (which there are a lot of). This movie is brilliant. I highly recommend it!
IT COMES AT NIGHT is well acted, well-shot and crafted art-house horror film that ask a lot of interesting questions and set high tension that ultimately never pays off. If you like vague, pretentious shitty-hipster horror movie with anti-climatic endings that fail justify its own existence then It Comes At Night might be the film for you.
Guardians of Galaxy is pretty to look at with impressive set pieces that almost makes you forget that slick CGI isn't enough to carry a film... luckily GOG is an action-comedy that's non-stop in the jokes and gag department. I hope you have a appetite for jokes about turds, reference to David Hasselholf, and other asinine, referential humor from 80's pop culture( remember Cheers and Mary Poppins? Cus they have jokes about that for some reason.)
Guardian of the Galaxy vol 2 isn't so much bad as it is lazy, but it plays to it audience with onslaughts of sophomoric humor and Micheal Bay OVER-THE-TOP style action that's intently grandiose but somehow boring and stupid for my taste, which I assume most people find appealing. I didn't like this movie, but ironically like the set up for vol. 3, which is the movie I'd rather be watching than this silly bullshit!
