Having to reinvent and establish new relationships to keep the story afloat with a new less-convincing lead, Season 2 of Batwoman further dampens things with even more soapbox moments to the point that the villain has more interest than the hero.
Heard it was bad. Kinda just assumed it was a just some naysayers but wow were they right. These are basic statements followed by forced laughter and its passing for jokes. There's nothing new or fresh about any of this. It sounds like a high schoolers stand up routine. And her jabs at white people really feel like low-hanging fruit. This isn't cunning or clever. She might as well follow every line with "Your mom"
Wilfred probably could have stood to keep it ambiguous but by trying to make sense of its nonsensicality it robs the show of its appeal and leaves you with a finale that is both unsatisfying and reaching.
With tired plots and characters that are now phoned-in and unfunny all while being too annoyingly self-referential, Family Guy has essentially become a parody of what it used to be, and not even a funny parody.
Seth MacFarlane's tired formula is once again used in an attempt to give a spinoff to an uninteresting side character which results in a show where the only likable character is a talking bear and not one member of the main cast.
