Another great flick powered by Jet Li masterful kung-fu, perhaps better balanced in the comedic first half than in the more serious second one, with the wonderful team-up with Josephine Siao. Again, stellar action sequences, I'd never stop to watch.
She's called Golden Swallow... not that kind of girl - you pervert - but she's smart, sexy and know well how to move... with the Kung Fu! Also, she happens to be one of the first and most prominent action heroines, in a flick even today full of joy and excitement. I'd have a drink with her everytime.
Feverish and furious, a movie fitting for the definition of "larger than life": so much things going on on screen (explosions! Quirky characters! Chicks! Monsters! Automotive destruction) you can't avoid to be overwhelmed. An almost non-stop hard-pounding pace race more akin to a post-atomic Iliad than something else. High octane me.
The noblest form of flattery to eighties. Not everything makes sense, but it's engaging, it doesn't waste your time setting the premise in half a second and going straight to its end and it's graced by a sharp performance by Dan Stevens. Checkmate in three moves and a gun.
