It's easy to be touched by a movie with the elements of beautiful music, a child prodigy, and a caring nice- looking female teacher. When will we have actors and actresses with real artsy talent like them?
I think John Woo wastes too much time on the unnecessary metaphors which slow down the pace and make the movie sometimes quite boring.
Yet, some war scenes are well managed and the cinematography is pretty cool.
I love Takeshi Kaneshiro who plays Juge Lian. Not just good looking, his eyes spark, too!
As to Tony Leung, I don't think he falls short of my
expectation of Jo Yu.
