Okay...so I will start out by saying that I liked this movie a LOT! I did not love it, but I for sure liked it! I think everyone who likes science fiction films needs to go support this film, because if you don't then all you are doing is telling Hollywood that it is not worth the risk to make these kinds of films.
The special effects are amazing, although they are not of even quality throughout the film. Still looks good enough though. The big eyes was something that I thought would bother me, but after spending 5 minutes with this character, I completey bought it and was in love with the character.
It is not a page by page recreation of the source material, but it definitely feels true to it. The story does seem to occasionally feel like it is missing something, maybe a bit more comic relief would have been helpful. That is just a very mild criticism though, I was enjoying everything I was seeing for the most part.
If you are a fan of good Sci-Fi...please go see this movie.
If you want Hollywood to make more female led films with 200 million dollar budgets...then please go see this movie.
If you are a fan of big action set pieces and visual effects...then you have to go see this on the big screen.
However, if it is not for you, then that is completely fine. I give a generous 8/10 because it gets way more right than it does wrong. At least in my opinion.
This is probably the weakest entry in the series, but it still has a few moments that are worth while. It is nice to see the cast all back together. The laughs didn't hit as hard as they used to though.
It opened well. but it quickly turned into an unwatchable mess. This was not funny, was not scary, and it felt like it was written by a 5 year old. All of the leading women have made me laugh countless times with their other work,,,but this movie is just as bad for their legacy as it is for the legacy of Ghostbusters!
