Once again, Linklater proves his great observational powers in this excellent, sensitive contemporary coming of age story. At first, the begins, as most of his do, in a very banal manner. Then, the characters grow, literally in this case, as they actors themselves are aging. I cried started crying near the end, when the Mother sadly admits, head down, "I thought there would be more!" This is such heartwarming story, perhaps all of us can identify in some way, especially parents, but I also identified strongly with Mason, as I am a lot like him. This is a must-see for every teenager, especially. So real! So honest.
