Movie Ratings and Reviews

Okay so. I could not tell if this movie was trying to be serious or funny or what. It was kind of a big joke but not even that funny. Strange. I got very confused with how I was supposed to be reacting. Not to mention, the main nerd guy was rather attractive, clean, built and I could tell he was "acting" awkward. In other words, I was not buying it, lol. Little girl with a trucker's mouth brutally killing everyone disturbed me a little too much. Not as much action as they make it seem there is. Overall just kind of a fail.

Disneynature Earth

So good! It was funny, cute, sad, fascinating and beautiful. I'm not even like a "nature freak" but this was really cool. Can't wait to see Oceans!

Ninja Assassin

Sexist, inaccurate, lame gorefest. I mean when one guy taunts Rain about how he "stuck" his love interest some years ago. I just about peed from laughter when I heard that line.

It's basically made by a nerdy guy who is obsessed with martial arts flicks and did not do any research. I suppose he thought blood would make up for it. FAIL FAIL FAIL.

Movie talks a lot about how failure is shame - the movie itself is a good example of a shameful piece of poo.

Saving Face
Saving Face(2005)

Adorable, funny, real and smart. Kind of like the perfect mate. Hey, this should be the tagline ;)

The Grudge 3
The Grudge 3(2009)

Better than I anticipated. While the Grudge 2 was a better horror film in general, the acting at times flopped horribly. Strengths were that it followed somewhat coherently and it wasn't un-scary. Still these remakes fail.

Brilliant. See it or I'll make you eat live octopus.

Rampo Noir (Rampo jigoku)

Creepy and weird. Not really in a good way.

Death Note (Desu nto)

Very flattering adaptation of the manga. Kenichi is perfectly cast and Fujiawara holds his own as Light and surprised me.

L: Change the World

Unrelated to Death Note. As much as I love L, the other characters got on my nerves. Random and it feels like it "gave up" after the first half. Disappointing.

Detroit Metal City

I almost died laughing. Kenichi is my hero, I love him <3 He proves super versatile and nothing short of brilliant here.

What can I say, I grew up on this stuff. At the time it was clever and scary.

Kung Fu Panda

So much fun, the styling is brilliant and it's super hilarious!

The Orphanage

A very close second favorite by del Toro. It's fantastic.

Pan's Labyrinth

I can't say enough about it, simply entrancing.

The Devil's Backbone (El Espinazo del diablo)

Brilliant director, super engaging film.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Hellboy 2)

"I'm not a baby, I'm a tumor."
my mom's favorite part, lol.

This is a surprisingly good sequel. The incest stuff is a little outta pocket for lack of a better phrase but if you like Hellboy 1, Hellboy 2 is a given.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry

Pleasantly surprised by this movie. Witty, funny and surprisingly tolerant. Has a wonderful message and I think that a lot of the straight "man's man" dudes who watched this movie opened their minds a bit and hopefully reconsidered the word "gay." In defense of the film, while it does cater more to the stereotypes I think the outlying message is positive.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

Had great funny moments and actually kind of sweet. If you're a fan of Kevin James, I recommend it.

Better than I expected to be honest with you. Plot did not interest me really, I just saw it because everyone raved about the special effects that were over a decade in the making and whatnot. I was not disappointed and yet rather surprised how much I liked the story as well.

Titan A.E.
Titan A.E.(2000)

Usually not a fan of these kinds of movies but I found it pretty cool and interesting.

Spice World
Spice World(1998)

Pop culture classic <3

Vampire Assassin

OOOOOOH MY GODDDD, THIS MOVIE. It holds a special place in my heart because it's so epically bad. The acting...is bad in every way possible. The budget seems to be negative. The action is...well, cheesy would be a compliment. I was lmao the whole time asking myself if this was real. Must see for people wanting a good laugh or maybe while under the influence of something. Not that I condone that, just saying.

I love movies like this. One room - sooooo much drama.

The Grudge
The Grudge(2004)

For me, real horror and fear is about what you take with you after the movie ends. One of a small handful of horror films to leave me terrified after many years. I first saw it while I had the hiccups so it was hard to focus (lol strange story, I know) but I thought it was rather clever and well made. Not brilliant but the lasting effect deserves credit. I agree that SMG is not really the greatest for the role but the film is great.

Camp Rock
Camp Rock(2008)

Demi Lovato's reasonable first stab at acting. Jo Bros are not as good, but they pull it off in this film enough. It's enjoyable, got great music and makes you feel good. The movie is simply supposed to be fun and that's what it is!

17 Again
17 Again(2009)

Pleasantly surprised by this movie. A little cheesy but better than I expected. It had nice little moments that stay when you finish it :)

Cop Out
Cop Out(2010)

Toooo long and the storyline just kept adding on more and more uninteresting "twists" that were predictable. Humor was subpar, I think they tried to be too serious. Tracy Morgan was tamed which I think ruined it.

Funny Games
Funny Games(2008)

Probably would have liked more from it, but then again as it stands, I enjoyed it. In the worst way. It's shocking and very uncomfortable. Utterly disturbing in a fascinating way. There's just something missing maybe...

Good Burger
Good Burger(1997)

I admit, I failed and I never saw this movie when I was young. I know I would have loved it but I gotta say, seeing it now was still awesome. It's got jokes that make you wonder how this stuff got aired cause it'd certainly be inappropriate now but I think that makes it gold. This movie had me crying and rolling. These were the good times, definitely. And maaaaan does it make you hungry!
