It was enjoyable as I watched, and a lot better than I thought it would be. I had just seen Wonder Woman, so I wasn't expecting much. YES, i know they are different universes, but WW left such a bad taste in my mouth. The only problem is that The Avengers are really dumb, all of them. They can't figure out any sort of plan at all. And, SPOILER ALERT, they give Thanos exactly what he wants, basically handing him gems he's searching for. When anyone suggests that they hide, run, try to figure out a plan, or do anything pro-active, they all have some mumbly sort of excuse why they shouldn't. So, they basically just do stupid things to continue the plot. I wish the writers took a little more time to construct a plot in which the heroes at least tried to use their minds. They had me rooting for Thanos. After 40 minutes of The Avengers' Three Stooges imitations, I really saw Thanos' point of view. Besides that, its a fun romp around Universe.
There's nothing new here. They stole every single thing in this movie from every other movie you've ever seen, and none of the good stuff. It's not original in any way, and completely boring from beginning to end. Had it been made in the early 80's, maybe I could give it a pass. It was a waste of my time.
It wasn't great. I got bored. The premise was interesting, but I think a different writer and director should have explored it.
My face actually got hot watching this movie. I was so embarrassed by the bad writing. They changed stories from Greek Mythology, and Wonder Woman's history. Ok, that's fine. It's fiction. But, they changed the one thing that was actually based on real life: The story of Doctor Death, and the changes make no sense. They add nothing to film. The real story of Doctor Death should have been what they filmed. It's much more interesting than what made it to the screen.
Wonder Woman, herself, tries to tell us that the message of the movie is "Love", yet she kills countless people, and even makes an attempt on the man she thinks is the villain, without one word first. She shows no love, whatsoever in this film.
I had high hopes for this movie, and was excited because so many woman praised it as a "woman's film". The only thing it showed is that woman's films can be just as stupid and badly written as any man's film. In that way, yes, they showed that women are truly equal to men. Also, it makes no sense that they have a woman director and main star, but two men wrote it. Not smart.
I can not even begin to describe how badly this movie ends. I feel ripped off. The writer/director teases with film school quality shots that lead nowhere, and I do mean nowhere. It was a complete waste of time. The film says nothing new, and it could have. Horrible.
It's a great documentary. The only criticism I have is that I want to know more... a lot more. Lucien Greaves is very funny, and that won me over. It shows the horrible hypocrisy of Christians, and I appreciate that. It also shows that people are human (unfortunately) and that Satanists can also make mistakes. The difference is, they acknowledge it and try to take responsibility.
